It touches upon questions about Scripture, tradition, and the teaching authority of the Church. These awe-inspiring manifestations of God's presence—known as "theophanies"—give us wonderful insights into his character, will, and salvation. Book God s Revelation of Himself to Men

Download or read book God s Revelation of Himself to Men written by Samuel J. Andrews and published by . This book was released on 2019-06-20 with total page 448 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Concerning the destructive critics of the 20th century, Pastor Andrews said" "It is painfully evident that the recent attempts to meet the long-felt difficulties in the Old Testament, historic and other, by minimizing the knowledge of God possessed by Israel, have tended rather to undermine the faith of Christians than to confirm it.... "It is also more and more evident that the same uncertainty is beginning to be felt in regard to the truthfulness of the New Testament, and especially of the historic Gospels. Here we are told, that as we find by critical inquiry, much was attributed to Moses that was not his, so much was attributed to Christ which He never did or taught. It is the pious imagination of the second century that presents Him to us as He now appears. When all errors are eliminated, and we get down to exact history, both Old and New Testaments will be reduced to much smaller dimensions, and make lees demands upon our faith; and we may safely say, also, that increasing numbers will care less and less for them." This is the case among academics and far too many pastorates and congregations. Hopefully, this book will help some to return to faith in "the old book," a faith lost around the world. H. D. Williams, M.D., Ph.D.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Blessed, Broken, and Scared. What does that mean? We know that Jesus took bread, blessed it, broke it, and shared it with His friends saying, "This is my body, which will be given for you; do this in memory of me." The Last Supper challenges us to live in such a way that we actually become the sacred food of Jesus Christ for others as we share our lives with them. And that can be scary! Blessed, Broken, and Scared calls the reader to a conversion from living a scared life to living a shared life. It is in sharing our life with others that we find the healing and peace we truly seek. All people are wounded by the world and have areas of hidden brokenness in their life. This book offers hope, healing, and change as it explores the profound implications of God's mercy, forgiveness, and love. "Brian addresses some very important issues in a conversational style that invites you into his book. Let this book, in a "sea of purple," be a place for us to share and be blessed. This book will truly encourage us to be Eucharist for one another." Fr. Martin Schratz OFM Cap. Brian has been sharing his Blessed, Broken, and Scared retreats around the country for years. Now the message has been captured in this book. Here is what some past retreatants have had to say: "Brian opens himself to all and helped us see that our brokenness isn't a deterrent to God's love and healing. Our retreat was truly a special day." "Should be required for today's Christians and Catholics." "One of the best day retreats that I have attended in nearly 40 years! So much to reflect on and put into action." "I have been to many seminars, webinars, retreats and have been blessed to have read many great books, but I have to say...this retreat impacted my life as to learning more about God's will in my life than any other book, resource, event ever has! Thanks be to God!" Brian Pusateri is a Christian author and speaker. Brian felt his life was forever changed when God spoke to his heart while attending a retreat in 2011. With the God-inspired message of mercy and unconditional love, Brian has been impacting others all over the country and around the world with his weekly letters, talks, and retreats. Brian and his wife of 45 years, Mary Beth, live in, and love the Carolina mountains.

Book excerpt: REVELATION: THE BOOK of REVELATION: BEASTS, SERPENT, SEALS, BOWLS, VIALS and FALSE PROPHETS EPILOG to the BOOK of REVELATION DIVINE REVELATION: GOD SPEAKING to MAN OF PRINCIPLES OF SPIRITUAL WARFARE BE IT DONE ACCORDING to YOUR FAITH THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD CAN YOU FALL from GRACE? KINGDOM OF GOD or KINGDOM of HEAVEN LIFE AFTER DEATH INTRODUCTION to: FORGOTTEN BOOKS NOT IN the Bible STUDY of LEVITICUS 14: An Introduction to Old Testament Law REAL CHRISTIANITY IS SPIRITUAL: To Spiritualists and New Age Proponents GNOTICISM VS. CHRISTIANITY EXPLAINING the BOOK of LAMENTATIONS WHY READ the BIBLE?: IT IS GOD'S WORD RECORDED IN the DAYS of the KINGDOM THE MARK of the BEAST THE TRUE MEANING of CHURCH WHY SO MANY DENOMINATIONS? UNIVERSAL LAW: How God Thinks About the Law of the Earth The title of this book is Revelation. Revelation is variously defined as: "an uncovering, a bringing to light of that which had been previously wholly hidden or only obscurely seen. God has been pleased in various ways and at different times (Heb. 1:1) to make a supernatural revelation of himself and his purposes and plans, which, under the guidance of his Spirit, has been committed to writing (Easton's Dictionary). Although this book does contain an attempted interpretation of the Book of Revelation, anything God does or speaks is in and of itself revelation in that it is bringing to light something hidden. The Bible is unlike any other book written by man. The bible, although written by man, is the inspired writing of that man moved by the Spirit of God and so becomes not the word of man but the Word of God. Books written by men convey emotions, ideas, entertainment, concepts and other mental images. God's word brings revelation to the Spirit of man. Jesus said: "It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life" (John 6:33). The words are food for man's spirit, just as natural food nourishes the body. Revelation is highly valued in the Kingdom of God. "Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, He was asking His disciples, "Who do people say that the Son of Man is?" And they said, "Some say John the Baptist; and others, Elijah; but still others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets." He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ [Messiah], the Son of the living God." And Jesus said to him, "Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven" (Matthew 16:13-19). The Lord was overjoyed in that man had not talked Peter into anything regarding the Lord's identity but Peter had received revelation directly from the Father. This book, along with others I have written, attempt to convey the truth of the Lord through revelation obtained from Him. The following are some odds and ends I have gathered together helping you will gain a better understanding of Him from His words. Everything said here is confirmed by scriptures from God's word. I hope it opens an even clearer picture as to He is and His purpose in the earth. Heavens

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ...the more we are in the light, doing good works of mercy-corporal or spiritual-the more we become more like Jesus. But we know that, already, right? Do we, now? Have we greeted Jesus in prayer this morning when we awoke; asked Him how He felt throughout the day; acknowledged Him by saying "hello" to someone; have we thought, said, or did something kind for someone; did we thank Him for giving us another day to enjoy; have we ever thanked Him for creating us and sustaining us; have we ever looked in the mirror and said we see a miracle? Ah, if only there was more time in the day Perhaps we are rationalizing to the point of leading ourselves into darkness? What is it we fear that we have to live in darkness so much? Could it be the bright, shining, warm light at the end of the tunnel? For those of us who don't try to live in the light: You won't have to worry about being blinded or scorched by the bright, shining, warm light at the end of the tunnel Michael J. Lorenzo is an ordained permanent deacon, now inactive, in the Roman Catholic Christian Church. He was instructed by some of the foremost exegetes and theologians in the United States and around the world. He is currently writing a novel and a book of inspirational short stories.
