Understand how the power of prayer can govern our outlook and can offer a different view of situations. Instead of living a disappointing life, why not expose your emotions and attempt to see we are all connected as one by Christ? Dominate your feelings and examine your own soul. It may be unfamiliar territory, though. Keep in mind and know that angels keep a close watch over us and give us support and aid. Observe that we are all of the same skin and invent a new perspective and grip on your relationships as you find out we are all the same in Gods eyes. Brokenness can actually open many doors and create an explosion of senses. Let it be a blessing and let it change you for the good. Investigate what you can do for someone else to make them smile. We are all longing for acceptance and approval. Prayer and the presence of God on your team can immensely alter a perspective and color your world again. Overrule all of your negative senses, pray to our Lord, our God, and obtain an uplifting attitude that relays that everything is for the best.

Book The Two Kinds of Knowledge

Download or read book The Two Kinds of Knowledge written by E. W. Kenyon and published by . This book was released on 2024-08-06 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mankind's great body of knowledge has come to us through the five senses. Sense knowledge can see the handiwork of God and can see the design in creation, but it cannot find the Designer. In fact, it's often unwilling to admit that there is a Designer because it cannot see, hear, taste, smell, or touch Him. Sense knowledge says that faith cannot produce miracles. It does not know why we were created, nor can it tell us the source of life, light, motion, gravity, or hundreds of other things. But revelation knowledge holds all of these answers and more. In The Two Kinds of Knowledge: God's Wisdom Is Greater Than Our Senses, E. W. Kenyon explains how we can discover the wisdom of God in His Word. This new kind of knowledge, which the secular world cannot grasp, brings us to a new kind of life, taking us out of our failures and weaknesses to fill our hungry hearts with love, faith, and grace.

Book Sense Perception and Testimony in the Gospel According to John

Download or read book Sense Perception and Testimony in the Gospel According to John written by Sunny Kuan-Hui Wang and published by Mohr Siebeck. This book was released on 2017-06-02 with total page 280 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book, Sunny Kuan-Hui Wang explores the relationship between sense perception and testimony in the Gospel of John. While Johannine scholars tend to focus on one or the other, she shows that sense perception and testimony are both significant and are used together with the intention of drawing readers into the narrative so that they become witnesses in an emotionally engaged way. It is argued that John's use of sense perception together with testimony is rooted in Jewish literature. Yet John also employs a Graeco-Roman rhetorical technique, enargeia , which appeals to the persuasive power of sense perception to make his narrative vivid. John does not downplay sense perception. Rather, he uses it in the context of testimony as a means of persuasion to draw the readers, in their imagination, into the experience of the first disciples and thus deeper into faith and witness.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The astonishing, Job-like story of how an existence filled with loss, suffering, questioning, and anger became a life filled with shocking and incomprehensible peace and joy. Vaneetha Risner contracted polio as an infant, was misdiagnosed, and lived with widespread paralysis. She lived in and out of the hospital for ten years and, after each stay, would return to a life filled with bullying. When she became a Christian, though, she thought things would get easier, and they did: carefree college days, a dream job in Boston, and an MBA from Stanford where she met and married a classmate. But life unraveled. Again. She had four miscarriages. Her son died because of a doctor's mistake. And Vaneetha was diagnosed with post-polio syndrome, meaning she would likely become a quadriplegic. And then her husband betrayed her and moved out, leaving her to raise two adolescent daughters alone. This was not the abundant life she thought God had promised her. But, as Vaneetha discovered, everything she experienced was designed to draw her closer to Christ as she discovered "that intimacy with God in suffering can be breathtakingly beautiful."

Book The Political Ideas of Thorstein Veblen

Download or read book The Political Ideas of Thorstein Veblen written by Sidney Plotkin and published by Yale University Press. This book was released on 2011-12-06 with total page 373 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Thorstein Veblen is best known for his authorship of "The Theory of the Leisure Class" and "The Theory of Business Enterprise," which made him a celebrated figure in the fields of economics and sociology at the turn of the twentieth century. In this book, Sidney Plotkin and Rick Tilman argue that in addition to his well-known work in these fields Veblen also made important--and until now overlooked--statements about politics. While Veblen's writings seldom mention politics, they are saturated with political ideas: about the relationship among war, executive power, and democracy; about the similarities between modern executive positions and monarchy; about the political influence of corporate power; about the symbolism of politics; and about many other issues. By demonstrating the deep relevance of Veblen's writings to today's political troubles, "The Political Ideas of Thorstein Veblen "offers an important reconsideration of a major American thinker.

Book The Place of God at the Bookends of the Bible

Download or read book The Place of God at the Bookends of the Bible written by David W. Larsen and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2023-10-09 with total page 286 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What if everything in the Bible has a larger outer context than is usually accounted for? Missional and biblical theologies suggest that the Bible presents a grand story like a play with multiple acts. The acts typically include creation, fall, redemption, and finally restoration. But what if the whole story itself occurs in another larger setting, occurring within a mission running in the background throughout the whole Bible? How might this aid our research, reading, and application? And why is this being proposed now? This book explores these questions. The larger context is the production of the place of God—a home and homeland wherein God, with his people, dwell on earth. Since place is underdeveloped in biblical studies, the book presents a new method for interpreting place. Then the book lays out the case that a grand mission to produce the place of God becomes the outer context for the whole Bible. Finally, the book defends this proposal with an in-depth placial commentary of the bookends of the Bible, since these bookends provide keys to unlock this message, thereby inviting further study on the rest of the Bible and on the implications for this transformative perspective.
