Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a true story about the journey in the life of a little girl who grew up on a logging camp located in a very remote area of Western Canada. Little Esther was a fun-loving and adventurous child, and the forest was her playground. When Esther was nine years old, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior. After that, the desire of her heart was to serve the Lord at home and in foreign countries. After graduating from Bible school, she got married, and she and her husband prepared for missionary service. Then some tragic events occurred. Esthers father was murdered. Then, after serving in Africa, another tragedy occurred, and Esther was left as a single mother with two children to raise, little money, and large debts. She worked long hours but hardly made enough to pay her bills and feed her family. During this time, Esther felt it was impossible for her to get out of the desperate situation she was living in and to be used of God again in missions. Then He blessed her financially and used her in His service, and thousands of people were touched for Jesus Christ. One moment, we may feel like we're on top of the world, with everything going according to plan. The next, we find ourselves facing uncertainty, financial struggles, difficult decisions, or heartbreaking loss. In these moments, it's easy to feel like our world is crumbling beneath our feet, and we may wonder where God is in the midst of it all. But what if these challenges are actually invitations to a deeper faith and trust in God? What if, instead of seeing these trials as obstacles to our happiness, we viewed them as opportunities to experience God's faithfulness, provision, and redemptive purposes in new ways? Over the next four weeks, we'll explore what it means to trust God in the midst of life's storms. Each week, we'll dive into a different area of struggle - uncertainty, financial strain, decision-making, and loss - and discover how God meets us in these places with His unchanging character, unfailing love, and transformative grace. Through daily reflections, scripture meditations, and practical action steps, we'll learn how to: Find unshakeable peace and security in God's sovereignty, even when the future feels uncertain. Experience God's provision and sufficiency in times of financial hardship and lack. Seek God's wisdom and direction when faced with difficult decisions and crossroads. Cling to hope in God's redemptive purposes, even in the face of devastating loss and disappointment. Along the way, we'll draw encouragement and insight from the stories of biblical heroes who navigated their own storms with faith and trust in God. We'll discover that our struggles are not unique, and that God is always faithful to see His children through the toughest of times. Whether you're currently in the midst of a storm or simply want to strengthen your faith for the challenges ahead, this devotional journey is for you. As we fix our eyes on Jesus and anchor our hope in His promises, may we find the courage and strength to trust God in every season of life, knowing that He is always good and always faithful. So let's dive in, expectant that God will meet us in the pages ahead and transform our hearts and minds as we learn to trust Him more deeply. May this journey be a catalyst for greater faith, intimacy with God, and unshakeable hope in His unfailing love. "Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful." - Hebrews 10:23 NIV

Questions for reflection help you think deeply about and internalize what you've read.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: God is totally faithful. That's right at the core of his character - unlike us, he cannot ever break his word. Remembering his grace and goodness, we grow in holiness and Christlikeness. Our aim is to be faithful in the big things, but also in the nitty-gritty of life when nobody is watching. With these Bible teachers alongside us: * Alistair Begg (Psalm 119:97-104) * Michael Baughen (2 Timothy 4:1-22 & Hebrews 3:1 - 5:6) * Tim Chester (Genesis15:1-21 & Revelation 2:18-29) * Malcolm Duncan (1 Thessalonians 2:1-12) * Sinclair Ferguson (2 Timothy 4:9-10) * Jonathan Lamb (Acts 20:17-38) * Peter Maiden (1 Samuel 13:5-14) * Alec Motyer (1 Thessalonians 5:1-28) * Tom Putt (Hebrews 6:11-20) we explore God's faithfulness and our response. This undated 30-day devotional shows how God is faithful to cleanse us from sin, keep us until death and guarantee our eternal destiny. What greater reassurance can we ask for?

Book excerpt: For many people, remaining optimistic and feeling positive about themselves and their lives is a constant battle—especially when circumstances are difficult and life is hard. For others, negativity is something that only sneaks up from time to time, yet still wreaks havoc in their hearts. Regardless of the root causes, once pessimistic thoughts permeate our minds, our feelings and emotions begin to control us instead of us controlling them. Eventually it doesn’t seem possible to stay positive, happy, and full of joy, and negative thought patterns shake our faith, causing us to sink emotionally, mentally, and spiritually over time. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Despite what storms roll in, hearts anchored in God don’t sink. When we change the way we think, we can change the way we feel and live, even if our circumstances remain the same. Intentionally embracing the opportunity to experience a transformed heart and a renewed mind opens the door for a changed life, because a positive mind will always lead to a more positive life. In Unsinkable Faith, author and Proverbs 31 Ministries speaker Tracie Miles offers hope for women who struggle with negativity. Each chapter explores Tracie’s and other women’s personal stories, showing how they rose above their circumstances by transforming and renewing their minds. Unsinkable Faith is a breath of fresh air for anyone longing for a heart full of joy, an unbreakable smile, and a new, more optimistic perspective on life. This book will equip you to: Replace pessimism with positive thinking by becoming the captain of your thoughts; Learn how true joy and happiness are based on choice, not circumstances; Overcome unhealthy habits of negative thinking by intentionally implementing three easy mind-renewing steps; Stop feeling hopeless and pitiful, and start feeling hope-filled and powerful instead; and Discover that when you change the way you think, you change the way feel, and in turn you can change your life completely.

Book excerpt: Does it make more sense to live life based on our own abilities and strength or to believe in a loving, personal God who promises to provide wisdom and strength to deal with the uncertainties and challenges that will surely come? This is a choice each person makes in their life's journey. Everything in our world seems to be getting worse, and life feels more like a challenge than an enjoyable opportunity. News stories permeate our media with accounts of pain, tragedy, corruption and turmoil. How do we find hope in the midst of this seemingly out-of-control world? This book seeks to point us to the source of real hope: to provide a foundation on which we can think rightly about how God is continually involved in our world and our lives. It is intended to broaden our understanding, solidify our thinking, and deepen our commitment to trust in God's faithfulness. Getting that in proper focus enables us to live in a way that reflects this faithfulness in the midst of a faithless world. At the end of the day each of us must choose how we will respond. Will we strive to make sense of it all through our own efforts, or will we seek to follow an ever-faithful God who provides the resources we need to live with meaning and hope? This book will help you conclude that trusting God truly does make the most sense. About the Author: Glenn W. Hoerr received a M.Div. and Th.M. in preparation for vocational ministry and has served in various church positions for over thirty years. He currently serves as an Associate Pastor in Milwaukie, Oregon. His commitment is to serving others while making God's truth relevant and practical for living in today's world.
