Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: After spending over half a century as pastor, evangelist, teacher, and businessman, the author has agonized over the lack of understanding by the average Christian on the "Big Story" behind their faith. He found Christians to be, for the most part, unaware of the ongoing battle in the spiritual dimension just beyond human sight. The forces of the armies of the Eternal God, led by the Holy Spirit, and the armies of the Satan, whose name is Lucifer, have relentlessly been fighting since man was only a concept in the mind of Eternal God. Eternal life for the human and his inheritance is at the core of that battle. Man's right to ascertain that inheritance and Lucifer's battle to stop it is the "Big Story" of the biblical narrative. The Holy Spirit, God's prima director of that war, invests His power in you to personally defeat Lucifer's hidden agenda. Embodied in the final words of Jesus at His ascension back to heaven is the promise of a personal empowering of the Holy Spirit, henceforth, to be made available to every believer as he bursts onto the scene at Pentecost. When He Has Come is the backstory of that relentless battle for eternal life.

Download or read book Time on God s Agenda written by Olakunle Olabode and published by . This book was released on 2019-06-15 with total page 48 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I acknowledge the fact that many scholars have done great work on the concept and subject of "Time" and many are still in the research of understanding and how to properly annex the huge resource time has placed at their disposal for the benefit of organisations and countries worldwide.Because of the great resources and in-depth information contained in this book, you are right if you place it side by side other works on Time Management since God is the greatest time manager of all times. We cannot adequately explain, much less understand the concept of time outside of God's approach of time. The reason for this book is to motivate us to understand the crucial role time plays in our individual and collective quest to make meaningful impacts out of life. This will obviously give us a fresh perspective why certain things happen at the time they happen despite our restlessness and anxiety to make them happen earlier than they do or to prevent them from happening. Certain issues are beyond our comprehension and this is so because our universe has been programmed to carry out certain mandates by The One who has orchestrated all things for His eternal purpose. This work is essentially an attempt to uncover the mystery of God's wisdom as it relates to the concept of time and the various ordinances He has put in place to stage-manage life affairs and to express, in clear terms, the overall effect it has on our individual lives. I shall make an attempt to throw light on the word of God from Hebrews 1:3 which reveals that both the natural and the spirit world are carefully coordinated by an invisible force, all working in consonant to mutually fulfill God's overall purpose and mandate.''Who, being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding ALL THINGS (time and space inclusive-) by the word of his power....'' Hebrews 1:3In other words, God is absolutely in charge of events the world over. Nothing happens without his express permission. At his instructions events unfold; and this is a vital component in the job of sanitizing our world. With this spiritual insight, we would understand that the anxieties and frustrations we entertained, experienced or expressed within the periods of waiting for certain manifestations of our expectations are absolutely uncalled for; but rather, we stand to benefit from the reservoir of strength and courage that all things are under God's control and eventually will work to suit His purpose in our lives. This understanding will equip us with the needed grace, patience and perseverance during our waiting period and also ensure that we see issues purely from God's own time frame. "But beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing that, one day is with the Lord as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day." 2 Peters 3:8 A thousand years with us is like a day before God. Man is constrained by time because of our universe and of cause our earthly existence is regulated by times and seasons. God does not count or mark calendar years the way we do because His time regime is founded and rooted in timeless eternity! To those weeping and lamenting for several years of seemingly endless waiting period it's my prayer that this book will heal their weary and broken hearts. May they receive the understanding that no matter how dark their life may look, joy and light will certainly come at the end of the tunnel. To them, I declare, it is the dawn of a new day!Be assured that a delay in the time for the manifestation of that miracle does not mean a denial! As you read, I believe faith will come alive in you that God has not forgotten you but rather, He is effectively engaging time with the intention to resolve all issues of your life to your advantage!Keep holding on!!

Book Sacred Pace

    Book Details:
  • Author : Terry Looper
  • Publisher : HarperChristian + ORM
  • Release : 2019-02-26
  • ISBN : 078522338X
  • Pages : 234 pages

Download or read book Sacred Pace written by Terry Looper and published by HarperChristian + ORM. This book was released on 2019-02-26 with total page 234 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How do we hear from God and discern His will when it’s time to make big decisions? Terry Looper shares a four-step process for doing just that - a process he has learned and refined over thirty years as a Christian entrepreneur and founder of a multi-billion dollar company. At just thirty-six years old, Terry Looper was a successful Christian businessman who thought he had it all—until managing all he had led to a devastating burnout. Wealthy beyond his wildest dreams but miserable beyond belief, Terry experienced a radical transformation when he discovered how to align himself with God’s will in the years following his crash and burn. Sacred Pace is a four-step process that helps Christians in all walks of life learn how to slow down their decision-making under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, sift through their surface desires and sinful patterns in order to receive clear, peace-filled answers from the Lord, gain the confident assurance that God’s answers are His way of fulfilling the true desires he has placed in their hearts, and grow closer to the One who loves them most and knows them best. Sacred Pace is not another example of name-it-and-claim-it materialism in disguise. Instead, it walks Christians through the sometimes-painful process of “dying to self” in their decisions, both big and small, so that they desire God’s will more than their own.

Book excerpt: Scripture reveals a God who meets us where we are, not where we pretend to be. No More Faking Fine is your invitation to get honest with God through the life-giving language of lament. If you've ever been given empty clichés during challenging times, you know how painful it is to be misunderstood by well-meaning people. When life hurts, we often feel pressure--from others and ourselves--to keep it together, suck it up, or pray it away. But Scripture reveals a God who lovingly invites us to give honest voice to our emotions when life hits hard. For most of her life, Esther Fleece Allen believed she could bypass the painful emotions of her broken past by shutting them down altogether. She was known as an achiever and an overcomer on the fast track to success. But in silencing her pain, she robbed herself of the opportunity to be healed. Maybe you've done the same. Esther's journey into healing began when she discovered that God has given us a real-world way to deal with raw emotions and an alternative to the coping mechanisms that end up causing more pain. It's called lament--the gut-level, honest prayer that God never ignores, never silences, and never wastes. No More Faking Fine is your permission to lament, taking you on a journey down the unexpected pathway to true intimacy with God. Drawing from careful biblical study and hard-won insight, Esther reveals how to use God's own language to come closer to him as he leads us through our pain to the light on the other side, teaching you that: We are robbing ourselves of a divine mystery and a divine intimacy when we pretend to have it all together God does not expect us to be perfect; instead, he meets us where we are There is hope beyond your heartache, disappointment, and grief Like Esther, you'll soon find that when one person stops faking fine, it gives everyone else permission to do the same.

Book God s Agenda Religious Poems

Download or read book God s Agenda Religious Poems written by Richard I. Gold and published by Dorrance Publishing. This book was released on 2016-10-04 with total page 230 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: God’s Agenda - Religious Poems: Vol 1 By Richard I. Gold God’s Agenda - Religious Poems contains a number of poems about God, Jesus Christ, our relationship with God, and our relationship with our fellow men, all in accordance with the Bible. At several points, two or more poems have the same title, but they were kept in because they are different poems. In other cases, several poems may appear to be somewhat similar; however, the focus is slightly different. Sometimes, a poem may require several readings to get the full meaning. At times, the meaning may be more than the author put into them and the reader may find some ideas which will benefit him or her. In all cases, the meaning of the poem should be taken to help build our faith and hope for the future, both in this life and when we have crossed to the other side. Remember, if we have a loved one who has passed on and is in the next life, they are in a better and more fulfilling place. It is well that we mourn for them, but this should be for our lack of seeing them, not for the fate of the loved one.

Book excerpt: In an age when men can be nurses or stay-at-home dads and women can be pilots or business managers, there are few areas left where gender alone determines what a person can and cannot do. Yet different models still exist in Christian ministry. Some denominations contend that certain areas of church life should be the preserve of men alone, while others allow full access to all areas for both sexes. But which is right? In this compelling email exchange, Lis Goddard and Clare Hendry search the Scriptures for guidance on the roles of women and men in church leadership today. Against the busy backdrop of everyday life, their conversation covers all the key passages, leaving no tricky verse unexamined. Passionately arguing their respective corners, they pinpoint where they disagree - and agree - all the while modelling Christian debate and friendship. Points to ponder helpfully enable readers to explore their own conclusions.

Book Hearing God in Conversation

Download or read book Hearing God in Conversation written by Sam Williamson and published by Kregel Publications. This book was released on 2016-06-27 with total page 216 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "I picked it up out of curiosity and I couldn’t put it down."--Eugene Peterson Christians are comfortable saying that Christianity is about a relationship with God. Yet many might also say that they sense little meaningful relationship with God in their own lives. After all, the foundation of good relationship is communication—-but conversation with God often seems to go only one way. We may sing of walking and talking with God in the garden, His voice falling on our ears, but few have heard that beloved voice themselves. Sam Williamson acknowledges the fundamental human longing to hear God’s voice and offers a hopeful supposition: God is always speaking—-we’ve just never been taught how to recognize His voice. Williamson handles this potentially heady topic with his characteristic straightforwardness and leavening humor. This book deftly bridges the gap between solid biblical theology and practical application, addressing topics such as how to truly pray without ceasing, how to brainstorm with God, how to navigate our emotions, how to answer God’s questions, and how to hear God’s voice for others. Hearing God in Conversation offers simple, step-by-step lessons on how to hear God. Williamson begins with Scripture meditation. He then expands the practice of listening for that voice everywhere—in the checkout line, on the job, in a movie theater, and even in silence. From there, he demonstrates how to hear God’s guidance when making any decision. By the end, readers’ eyes and ears will be opened to the limitless methods through which God speaks.
