Book excerpt: As a first-time pet owner, I never knew how much joy, along with companionship, my adorable, entertaining, loyal, and loving little doggie could bring to my life. And I certainly never entertained the notion that after decades of seeking God and trying to understand his scriptures, a precious addition in my life would teach me some of the most fundamental principles of God’s love for me. God Lessons: As Taught to Me by My Dog is my account of the fun, and at times humorous, journey of Snoopy Snu Snu and me and the invaluable spiritual epiphanies revealed during our time together. If the mysteries of God and the complexities, as well as turnoffs of religion, are blocking your path to a more intimate relationship with God, follow the walk of my doggie and me and discover and embrace the simplicity of God’s abounding love and mercy.

Book excerpt: Amazing (Furry) Lessons from a Dog’s Life You’ll be enthralled by this story of a man and his lovable Labrador retriever, Hannah, and what their canine friendship can show us about life, grace, and long walks in the park. Hannah was Dave’s best friend. He couldn’t imagine starting a day without her tail wagging an energetic greeting, her body wiggling with sheer gratitude when her food dish was filled, and her unbridled enthusiasm for tennis balls. (How she fit three tennis balls in her mouth at once he’ll never know.) So when Dave first learned of Hannah’s cancer diagnosis, he decided to take whatever time he had left with Hannah to cherish the moments and capture his thoughts in a journal. As he wrote about his canine friend, he soon realized that Hannah was an able (and furry) mentor of faith, grace, kindness, and forgiveness. The lessons were invaluable: from being present to trusting the master. When Hannah lived well past the expected time frame, Dave started to see that the insights he was gaining were more than just journal entries about a family pet. Through Hannah’s antics, God was preparing Dave for life itself. You won’t want to miss this heartwarming tale of a dog who knew how to live . . . and showed her owner how.

She became a wonderful traveler, and over time, she became socialized. She taught me patience, got me through some rough times, showed me how to be playful, and strengthened me spiritually. Book Miracle Dog Miracle God

Download or read book Miracle Dog Miracle God written by John McCreedy and published by Author House. This book was released on 2013-10-14 with total page 181 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Im more convinced than ever that if youre going to write a book it must come from deep inside you. I believe thats so true regarding the writing of any good book, but particularly this volume. While my first published work The Seers House arrived in one single vision at 3 oclock in the morning, my second endeavour Miracle Dog; Miracle God took a lot longer to emerge. For over ten years following my first publication, I was caught up in the mission field in Romania and literally didnt have time to write a follow-up. Indeed, only after Id returned from Romania and been separated from my best friend Snowbell, our Golden Retriever Labrador, did I really begin to accept that another book may be about to be birthed. I couldnt shake off the writing of this book and so eventually I sat down and wrote it. Nevertheless, Miracle Dog; Miracle God hasnt been the easiest manuscript to create for various reasons. Trying to keep to my subject matter what God the Father taught me about Himself through the love of a dog, when there was so much more to tell about our Romanian endeavours, hasnt been straightforward. Writing each chapter as a parable was equally challenging, but in the end I think Ive managed to produce what has been within me since 2008. Finally, the emotion I experienced writing about this remarkable little dog was quite unexpected. On numerous occasions I would have to literally down tools and shed tears, while at other times I laughed out loud and so enjoyed reminiscing about happier moments with Snowbell. My desire is that Miracle Dog; Miracle God will make you laugh and cry, yet also instruct you about the amazing unconditional love of God. After all, thats exactly what happened to me when I was introduced to Snowbell, a beautiful gift from God to my life, if ever there was one.

Book Adventures in Gideon

  • Pages : 117 pages

Download or read book Adventures in Gideon written by Michele Brown and published by . This book was released on 2014-07-15 with total page 117 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book was birthed out of my desire for a puppy, a canine companion. But it turned into a journey from passive, observational, internalized faith to a stronger, clearer, more vibrant and active faith in the power of God to do everything He promises, for anyone who dares to trust Him. Adventures In Gideon is the loveliest accident that has ever happened to me. I wanted a dog. I wanted someone to love me unconditionally in a strange city. In exchange, God gave me strength and self-confidence while reflecting my every weakness, shortcoming, wart, gift and beauty through the watery blue eyes of a Weimaraner puppy. This fuzzy baby demanded that I be all that God requires of me privately - not just out in public where I had a title and a position. He demanded it at home where nobody but God could see my habits, fears, self-doubt, and struggles. My dog showed me that God was bigger than the dude I was reading about in the Bible or hearing about at church. He could handle everything I was facing, if I was willing to entrust it to Him. With every passing day, God used that little fuzzy wonder of mine to show His love, mercy, and belief in me. Ultimately, I had no choice but to take God at His word and believe Him to take care of everything I was so desperate to change in me and in my life. I decided to partner with God to change my life and I am the better for it. Adventures in Gideon tells our story - the first leg of the journey of Gideon and me - in hopes that it will encourage you to trust God, believe in yourself and love unconditionally. This journey is the most liberating process I have ever engaged. It is my prayer that by sharing these adventures you will find faith in God, a good laugh and the courage to live the life God has for you. My inspiration came from the most unlikely source, my puppy - so be on the lookout for yours. Adventures In Gideon offers a basket of life lessons with simple truths embedded. It also shares Kingdom principles: life lessons with eternal truths embedded. Each truth is illustrated through adventures with my superhero of a dog, Gideon. Whether a life lesson or Kingdom principle, each episode reveals the love of God toward us. Gideon's actions, impulses, and responses metaphorically reveal God's heart toward us or some wonderful facet of God's divine nature that each of us is called to embrace and apply to our own lives. Getting to know and love Gideon has been a beautiful reminder that God truly is love (1 John 4:8). It is the very nature of God, not just an attribute (1 John 4:16). Plant your foot on that truth and your life will begin to change.

This book was released on 2020-08 with total page 74 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: God's Lessons Through My Dog, Zander: How God used a rescue dog to herd me back to Him. I confess Jesus to the world, and in turn, He will confess me to the Father (Matthew 10:32). This is my story of how a loving God and a frightened rescue dog combined forces to remind me of why I love Jesus and why life is better with Him. This is my testimony of heavenly power and promise. I am loved by a heavenly Father, and you are too! If you have ever labeled yourself an unworthy prodigal child-rebellious, lukewarm-come and read what I have learned. Seek, and you will find the Way to the only home you will ever need. Please bring your dog, because they are welcome too! God tells me, and I tell Zander: "Lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world" (Matthew 28:20 KJV). Merrilynn and Zander moved to rural Virginia almost three years ago from the east coast of Florida. Before that, she was a native of Vermont. She says of herself that she grew up Protestant in a Catholic town and converted to Catholicism in a Protestant town in Missouri. God is the same wherever you live and no respecter of persons.

We are the most connected culture in history but arguably the most disconnected from the awareness of God’s presence. Waking Up Slowly is author Dave Burchett’s personal challenge to live “in the moment” and find the everyday joys he misses in disconnected busyness. What moments of joy do we inadvertently miss as we stare at our screens? What performance idols destroy our ability to appreciate God’s gifts? Dave Burchett sets out to find out how life might look differently if he awoke each morning consciously looking for the easy to miss “postcards from God.” Waking Up Slowly is an intimate, warm, and touching story of discovering how to more fully appreciate living in the moment. During his discovery, the author finds regular reminders of daily joys from his Labrador pal, Maggie. Waking Up Slowly challenges the reader to recognize, appreciate, and celebrate the ways that God reveals himself daily.
