Book God Has A Model And Mentor For Your Life

Download or read book God Has A Model And Mentor For Your Life written by Faith Donald and published by Streams of Righteousness . This book was released on 2021-08-03 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For you to successfully go through God’s modelling and mentoring program, I believe you need to first of all ask good focusing questions in order to find out everything you need to know about modelling and mentoring before you can make this intelligent decision. Like Jesus said in Luke 9:62 “No man having put his hand to the plough and desiring to make good work of his ploughing will look back because if he does, will make back with his plough, and the ground he ploughs will no longer be fit to be sown”. Ploughing is a process that breaks up the fallow ground, improves air circulation and enhances the water retention capacity of the soil for optimum seed growth. If the ground is not broken up, seed cannot be sown on it. A heart that is not first ploughed is not fit to receive the good seed of the Kingdom of God.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Today’s Christian women do not simply want nice fellowships and cookie-cutter answers about how to deal with life. Though churches are filled with good ministry programming—activities, outreach events, and an endless selection of options—many churches neglect their fundamental mission to make disciples. Christian women want to mentor and to be mentored, though they may not fully understand what that means, the significance of this desire, or how to get there. The church must rise to answer these questions, meet life’s challenges, and develop creative ways of equipping modern women to mentor well. In Mentor for Life, Natasha Sistrunk Robinson lays a solid foundation for mentoring that is based on God’s kingdom vision, challenges women to consider the cost of discipleship, and the high calling they have received in Christ. It shows how to develop mentoring relationships that function communally in existing small groups that are diverse and inclusive. It also presents a mentoring framework of knowing and loving God, understanding our identity in Christ, and loving our neighbor, which encourages theological reflection and cultivates a basic Christian worldview. Filled with examples from Robinson’s experience in the military and business world, this resource gives readers the wisdom they need to disciple others and as a foundation for kingdom service.

  • Pages : 184 pages

Download or read book The Uncommon Mentor written by Rhonda Lewis and published by . This book was released on 2018-10-29 with total page 184 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Is there someone in your life that loves you and holds you accountable? Do they point you back to God's Word when you are stumped? Do you have someone that reminds you of His forgiveness when you are being too hard on yourself? Is there someone that can tell you when you're wrong, and encourage you to repent? Having a mentor is beneficial to everyone; especially Believers. On your spiritual journey, it's most important to have a mentoring relationship to help you grow in your faith and every day walk with the Lord. Can you imagine having a person invest in your life because they choose to do so, and they simply just want to see you win: spiritually and tangibly. In fact, mentoring is a biblical concept. In Titus 2, older men are encouraged to train the younger men and older women are told to train the younger women.A good mentor will encourage you, inspire you, push and pull you; but have you been introduced to the "Uncommon Mentor?" This mentor teaches, counsels, coaches, lead by example and advises by way of the Holy Spirit. This relationship with the "Uncommon Mentor" is God-ordained. It's less like an instantaneous upload and more like a slow, metamorphosis. Why? Because it takes time to build and establish trust and accountability. You have to be able to trust the God in your mentor; know without a shadow of doubt that he/she will literally go to war with the enemy on behalf of your soul. You may ask yourself, who is this "Uncommon Mentor?" She goes by the name, Elder Rhonda Ferguson-Lewis. God has entrusted her with nearly 50 women to coach and mentor over her life span in which hasn't always been the easiest; yet God knew there was something in her that He needed to get to those women in order for them to see all that He has for them. Elder Rhonda has a responsibility to fulfill by presenting herself as a role model that is not only in talk but in walk. Spiritually this means that she "leads by example" as commanded by Scripture where it is evident she is led by the Holy Spirit and presents a godly role model of Christ-like behavior to those she mentors. In this book you will be taken on a "joy ride" by some of the women she's mentoring. Each woman in this book has a story to tell you about how yesterday they dared to struggle but today they dared to win. Their story will simply tell you how their pain met purpose once God revealed to them everything He desired to heal in them. And He's done just that through our "Uncommon Mentor."

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Who has been the most influential person in your life? Was it a school teacher? An uncle? A parent? A grandmother? A minister? An employer? A coach? Whoever it was, your reason for choosing this person probably had more to do with who they 'were' and how they 'lived', than how they looked or what they owned. What you experienced was the result of this significant person's ability to model inspiring qualities and communicate those qualities to you. How did they do it? What were the ingredients that enabled them to teach so effectively? Down through the centuries, students have learned through careful observation from those more experienced. Apprentices have learned from craftsmen who took them by the hand. Amateurs emulated professionals. Disciples studied masters. As one who has been profoundly influenced by skilled leaders and who has, in turn, motivated many others, Ted Engstrom could be aptly described as a mentor's mentor. In this book, Ted Engstrom will introduce to you the idea of mentoring. As a leader, you'll learn that mentoring represents the difference between talking and doing as a student, you'll learn from the master's performance as well as his prose.

Book Models Mentors and Messages

Download or read book Models Mentors and Messages written by René Rochester and published by Zondervan. This book was released on 2009-07-13 with total page 178 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For far too long we’ve neglected the urban mission field. Many churches have moved to the outskirts of the city for various reasons, and the urban landscape appears to be forgotten. Dr. René Rochester presents a vision for how communities can change this pattern and plant redemptive and sustainable urban ministries. Models, Mentors, and Messages takes a close look at the developmental stages of Jesus’ life, focusing on how family, his heavenly Father, the Jewish community, and neighboring nations were used to shape his holy destiny. Through the example of Jesus’ life, you will learn how to draw on your own formative years to show urban teens how to live out God’s call in their communities. The most authentic models are individuals who have wrestled through life’s challenges and learned to trust God in difficult situations, and so by empowering urban students today and showing them how to nurture one another in faith, you can help create sustainable ministries in which each generation will model for the next how to follow Jesus. The first of its kind, this book doesn’t try to force old models on the urban context, but rather teaches new ways to draw on Jesus’ teachings to help an urban, hip-hop generation live for Jesus and for one another.

Book Decision Making and the Will of God

Download or read book Decision Making and the Will of God written by Garry Friesen and published by Multnomah. This book was released on 2009-10-07 with total page 530 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Does God Have a Perfect Will for Your Life? Does God have a perfect will for each Christian? Can you be absolutely certain of God’s specific will for your life? In this expanded twenty-fifth anniversary edition of his highly acclaimed work, Garry Friesen examines the prevalent view on God’s will today and provides a sound biblical alternative to the traditional teaching of how God guides us. This new edition includes these helpful resources: • Study guide for small groups • Responses to Frequently Asked Questions • Guide to painless Scripture memorization Friesen tackles the very practical issues of choosing a mate, picking a career, and giving in this fresh and liberating approach to decision making and the will of God. Story Behind the Book Most Christians have been taught how to find God’s will, yet many are still unsure whether they’ve found it. God does guide His people, but the question is, “How does He guide?” After “putting out a fleece” to decide which college to attend, Garry Friesen began pondering why it was so hard to find God’s will when he had so sincerely sought it. Was he the only one who did not have 100 percent clarity for every decision? Then a new possibility struck—perhaps his understanding of the nature of God’s will was biblically deficient. Maybe there was a better way to understand HOW God guides.
