Download or read book Where Are You Going written by Larry B. Bachman and published by Tate Publishing. This book was released on 2011-09 with total page 336 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Whatever this place was, it separated me from my friends. The best way to describe my dilemma was to imagine standing on a ledge. There was a grizzly bear in front of me and an abyss behind. There was no denying the situation. All my buddies were behind the bear shouting incoherently, and they couldn't do anything to help. I had to decide whether to take on the bear or believe the strange voice in my head that said, 'Go ahead. Jump. It'll be all right.' So that's what I did: jump! Whether it made me unpopular or not, I would take the risk and see where I landed. Do you feel like an outsider? Does it seem like everything you do is wrong? Sometimes it's like trouble is lurking in every corner, and it's so hard to not make a mistake. In Where Are You Going, Larry faces his own troubles. His band of friends, the Midnight Bike Marauders, keeps disobeying the rules. Susie, the neighborhood's know-it-all tattletale, keeps making Larry lose his temper. And the rival baseball team may steal the big win of the summer. Through all of this, Larry begins to learn more about God and the Bible. Will Larry overcome his problems? Can he learn who will always be there to help him? Larry Bachman weaves the everyday trials of peer pressure, choice, and accountability into Bible-based applications that will help kids with their decision making. From the lessons he learned from his parents and grandmother, Larry is able to show kids that they are not alone in their situations; and there is no experience that God cannot handle.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is the first of a series that chronicles the adventures of a young lad named Derrick as he wades through life, struggling to understand his strangely bizarre reality from the backdrop of the secular world he knows. Like many of us, he is completely oblivious of the fact that he's been deliberately endowed with a gift by the commander in chief of the hosts of angel armies and superintendent of the heaven and earth that gives him an edge in the battlefield of life. The adversary, the ancient serpent or shrouded one, who always likes to be incognito, figures him out to be a threat to their enterprise before he could even comprehend the underlying significance of his rather unusual gift and how unique the experience is in terms of associating the conspiracy of suicides with the fallen ones as its advocate or agent provocateur in the denouement of life as revealed in the written Word. Deftly, they orchestrate his termination; but in a strange twist of events, it turns out to be part of a larger plan, a script within the script. His soul is given a tour of hell to see a selected few of its occupants post judgment. There he sees at least two peculiar people he once knew in the earthly realm who all died of suicide, and there couldn't have been a more graphic lesson on what the consequence tag for suicide is. Alas, now armed with this firsthand knowledge, it is time for him to be returned to his body to be the warrior he's chosen to be; hence, a certain sage of spiritual warfare and ambassador for Christ Jeremy is summoned to be the earthly key in unlocking heaven's portal for Derrick's return and ultimately activate him for the battles ahead.
Download or read book Life S Like That written by Jerry McKee Bullock and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2012-11-29 with total page 429 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Lifes Like That was born when I was having trouble getting clients at the Family Counseling Center. That is a fancy name that came from my family counseling career. I thought I needed to get some ads in the local newspaper. That led to my meeting Mr Rowe Ray, the managing editor of the San Marcos Daily Record. I simply wanted to explore possibilities but ended with an invitation to write a weekly column for the newspaper. I can honestly say I never broke my word on confidentiality; i.e., everything we talked about stayed in the Center, everything that is except the funny things. I was counseling with a game warden that told me about a lady who was losing a sheep a night to one old hungry coyote. Whenever the warden came out, she would start feeling sorry for the coyote and asked the warden not to shoot it. Finally she had five sheep left. She called the warden and once again told him she wasnt ready to have him hunt down the coyote. The warden looked at the little flock of sheep and said, Mrs. Jones, whatever you say, but weve only got five more days anyway. As you read this book there will be tears and sunshine. The good news is you dont have to sit down and read it all at once. Life Really Is Like That.

Just as important this book includes a complete history of the national organization established for the express purpose of promoting sport parachuting. While this history is restricted to a short fifteen years (1961-1975), those years were the most productive, most far-reaching, and the most exciting for the fledgling idea of jumping out of perfectly good airplanes for the sheer joy of it all, eventually establishing the sport of skydiving as an integral part of the world of aviation sports. This book tells the story of those formative years with details of battles fought to maintain freedom of the skies for all parachutists when government and corporate interests made numerous attempts to severely restrict the right of skydivers to use our nation's airspace. This story is told by a man who dedicated his life to the advancement of the sport, serving for twelve years as the chief executive officer of the national organization for skydivers, the Parachute Club of America / US Parachute Association. The reader will embark on a most exciting journey, a journey not told before, continually laced with personal stories that will touch your heart, make you smile, and occasionally make you laugh. This book contains over 400 photographs and 1,500 names of people from around the world who participated in that wonderful and exhilarating sport called skydiving.

Download or read book Packing Light written by Allison Fallon and published by Moody Publishers. This book was released on 2013-08-26 with total page 235 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Carrying baggage you don't need? When I was in college, I figured my life would come together around graduation. I’d meet a guy, have a beautiful wedding, and we'd buy a nice little house—not necessarily with a picket fence, but with whatever kind of fence we wanted. Whatever we decided, I would be happy. When I got out of college and my life didn’t look like that, I floundered, trying to get the life I had always dreamed of through career, travel, and relationships. But none of them satisfied me as I hoped. Like many twentysomethings, I tried to discover the life of my dreams, but instead I just kept accumulating baggage—school loans, electronics I couldn’t afford, hurt from broken relationships, and unmet expectations for what life was “supposed to be” like. Just when I had given up all hope of finding the “life I’d always dreamed about,” I decided to take a trip to all fifty states . . . because when you go on a trip, you can’t take your baggage. What I found was that “packing light” wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be. This is the story of my trip and learning to live life with less baggage.
