Book NEW TESTAMENT CONTEXTUAL COMMENTARY

Download or read book NEW TESTAMENT CONTEXTUAL COMMENTARY written by Dr. Robert R. Seyda and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2024-05-16 with total page 749 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Here John advises us that loving one another is not an option or a suggestion, it is a commandment. John doesn’t want any believer to become like Adam and Eve’s firstborn, Cain. That happened because Cain was under the influence of Satan. This is, therefore, a warning not to mess with the world. So, what if they hate us? We are bound for everlasting life in the presence of God. That’s why death has no power over us. And that’s why, if our thoughts do not tell us that we are guilty, we will not be afraid to come to God. We can pray to God and we can ask Him to help us. He will give us what we ask Him for. That is because we obey His commands and we do the things that please Him. Furthermore, we should all love each other because God makes us able to love other people. Everyone who loves other people confirms our claim to be a child of God. If anyone says clearly that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in that person. And that person lives together with God. We know the kind of love that God has for us. That’s why if we love God, we will not be afraid of Him. So, how do we know that we love God’s children? We know it when we love God and we do what He tells us to do.

Book Charles Spurgeon Lectures to My Students Volume 4

This book was released on 2015-03-24 with total page 303 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Charles Spurgeon (19 June 1834 – 31 January 1892) is one of the church’s most famous preachers and Christianity’s foremost prolific writers. Called the “Prince of Preachers,” he was one of England's most notable ministers for most of the second half of the nineteenth century, and he still remains highly influential among Christians of different denominations today. His sermons have spread all over the world, and his many printed works have been cherished classics for decades. Spurgeon preached to more than 10 million people in his lifetime and many times each week. For 38 years in London he was the pastor of the congregation of the New Park Street Chapel later known as Metropolitan Tabernacle. He was a prolific writer and produced many kinds of works including sermons, commentaries, and autobiography, as well as books on prayer, devotionals, magazines, poetry, hymns and much more. His ability to speak and provoke thought with divine inspiration has amazed audiences in his lifetime as well as now. Spurgeon’s messages have been considered the best literature worldwide. While he is most remembered for being a minster and having a church, his most powerful influence was that he exercised on his fellow ministers and theological students. He organized a college, trained approximately 850 students, spoke at an annual conference of ministers, and looked at this as just part of ’life’s labour and delight’ and these facts are not known as well today. These lectures are filled with down to earth practical points and advice for young ministers. His sense of humor seasons his lectures with an air of refreshment that cannot be found elsewhere. Spurgeon's Lectures to my Students, contains the substance of Spurgeon's regular Friday afternoon addresses to the college students. This new complete and unabridged publication by Delmarva Publications offers a linked table of contents and a new format for ease of reading.

Beng. does not seem to me to speak of a different reading, but of the common interpretation, that there are here three classes of good hearers. He plainly understands there to be the one and the same good hearer, who bears fruit from the same seed in different degrees at different times. Hence Luke viii. 8 gives the one degree only, viz. the hundredfold, as the normal state of the believer's fruitfulness. However, in opposition to Beng., the transition from S; to S fciv, S it, neut. nominative, would not be unnatural (whether taken of one and the same good hearer, or of different classes of good hearers), as the individual becomes in a manner identified with the seed in process of time, just as the nutritive elements of the soil become identified with, and taken up into, the young germ: hence avaau;, he who is sown (applicable to the seed, but here also to the person), occurs in ver. 19, and otKhx, ver. 8, is nominative neuter, and plural, followed by o ftiv, o it.
