An effort has been made to state things accurately, and on good authority. It has been very difficult to ascertain dates in some instances. The sources whence the information is derived are various: Bartlett's Colonial Records; Schedules of the town presented yearly to the General Assembly; Town Records; old newspapers; private papers; reading of many books that had reference to town matters; travelling over the town, and information from elderly town's people. Glocester has furnished some citizens of high personal worth, and honor to other towns, states and countries.
