Book Stabilization and Regulation of Nonlinear Systems

Download or read book Stabilization and Regulation of Nonlinear Systems written by Zhiyong Chen and published by Springer. This book was released on 2014-08-30 with total page 365 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The core of this textbook is a systematic and self-contained treatment of the nonlinear stabilization and output regulation problems. Its coverage embraces both fundamental concepts and advanced research outcomes and includes many numerical and practical examples. Several classes of important uncertain nonlinear systems are discussed. The state-of-the art solution presented uses robust and adaptive control design ideas in an integrated approach which demonstrates connections between global stabilization and global output regulation allowing both to be treated as stabilization problems. Stabilization and Regulation of Nonlinear Systems takes advantage of rich new results to give students up-to-date instruction in the central design problems of nonlinear control, problems which are a driving force behind the furtherance of modern control theory and its application. The diversity of systems in which stabilization and output regulation become significant concerns in the mathematical formulation of practical control solutions—whether in disturbance rejection in flying vehicles or synchronization of Lorenz systems with harmonic systems—makes the text relevant to readers from a wide variety of backgrounds. Many exercises are provided to facilitate study and solutions are freely available to instructors via a download from springerextras.com. Striking a balance between rigorous mathematical treatment and engineering practicality, Stabilization and Regulation of Nonlinear Systems is an ideal text for graduate students from many engineering and applied-mathematical disciplines seeking a contemporary course in nonlinear control. Practitioners and academic theorists will also find this book a useful reference on recent thinking in this field.

Book Trends in Control

Download or read book Trends in Control written by Alberto Isidori and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 424 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book contains the text of the plenary lectures and the mini-courses of the European Control Conference (ECC 95) held in Rome, Italy, September 5-September 8, 1995. In particular, the book includes nine essays in which a selected number of prominent authorities present their views on some of the most recent developments in the theory and practice of control systems design and three self-contained sets of lecture notes. Some of the essays are focused on the topic of robust control. The article by J. Ackermann describes how to robustly control the rotational motions of a vehicle, to the purpose of simplifying the driver's task. The contribution by H. K wakernaak presents a detailed discussion of the requirements that performance and robustness impose on control systems design and of the symmetric roles of sensitivity and complementary sensitivity functions. The article by P. Boulet, B. A. Francis, P. C . Hughes and T. Hong describes an experimental testbed facility, called Daisy, whose dynamics emulate those of a real large flexible space structure and whose purpose is to test advanced identification and control design methods. The article of K. Glover discusses recent advances in uncertain system modeling, analysis and design, with ref erence to a flight control case study that has been test flown. The other essays describe advances in fundamental problems of control theory. The article by V. A. Yakubovich is a survey of certain new infinite horizon linear-quadratic optimization problems. The contribution by A. S.

Book Global Controllability and Stabilization of Nonlinear Systems

Download or read book Global Controllability and Stabilization of Nonlinear Systems written by Sergey Nikitin and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1994 with total page 292 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The main purpose of this book is to provide a self-contained, complete and geometrically clear presentation of the recent results on global controllability and stabilization. It contains many pictures and exercises so as to develop a geometrical control intuition and inspire the reader to think independently. The material presented is organized such that for Part I, it is only assumed that the reader has mastered the very basic notions of ordinary differential equation theory, general topology and analytic geometry. For Part II, the reader is assumed to be familiar with the elements of differential geometry.

Book Stabilization of Nonlinear Systems Using Receding horizon Control Schemes

Download or read book Stabilization of Nonlinear Systems Using Receding horizon Control Schemes written by Mazen Alamir and published by Springer. This book was released on 2006-09-29 with total page 308 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: While conceptually elegant, the generic formulations of nonlinear model predictive control are not ready to use for the stabilization of relatively fast systems. This book presents a successful approach to this problem based on a co-operation between structural considerations and on-line optimization. It also provides research showing how generic predictive control schemes can be extended from slow process-based systems to a variety of fast systems.

Book Stability and Stabilization of Nonlinear Systems

Download or read book Stability and Stabilization of Nonlinear Systems written by Iasson Karafyllis and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2011-04-02 with total page 401 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Recently, the subject of nonlinear control systems analysis has grown rapidly and this book provides a simple and self-contained presentation of their stability and feedback stabilization which enables the reader to learn and understand major techniques used in mathematical control theory. In particular: the important techniques of proving global stability properties are presented closely linked with corresponding methods of nonlinear feedback stabilization; a general framework of methods for proving stability is given, thus allowing the study of a wide class of nonlinear systems, including finite-dimensional systems described by ordinary differential equations, discrete-time systems, systems with delays and sampled-data systems; approaches to the proof of classical global stability properties are extended to non-classical global stability properties such as non-uniform-in-time stability and input-to-output stability; and new tools for stability analysis and control design of a wide class of nonlinear systems are introduced. The presentational emphasis of Stability and Stabilization of Nonlinear Systems is theoretical but the theory’s importance for concrete control problems is highlighted with a chapter specifically dedicated to applications and with numerous illustrative examples. Researchers working on nonlinear control theory will find this monograph of interest while graduate students of systems and control can also gain much insight and assistance from the methods and proofs detailed in this book.

Book Stabilization Synchronization and Tracking of Nonlinear Systems by Feedback Domination Approach

Download or read book Stabilization Synchronization and Tracking of Nonlinear Systems by Feedback Domination Approach written by Song Yan and published by . This book was released on 2015 with total page 156 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This dissertation presents a series of fundamental and challenging control problems and their solutions for nonlinear systems, including global stabilization for a class of upper-triangular nonlinear systems, global asymptotic synchronization via sampled-data feedback, finite-time control for synchronization and bounded tracking of a variable-speed wind turbine nonlinear system. The problem of global stabilization for a class of upper-triangular nonlinear systems is first discussed in this dissertation. We focus on the nonlinear systems whose linearization around the origin can and cannot be guaranteed to be controllable, respectively and a variety of nonlinearity growth rates which depend on the input are considered. Based on adding a power integrator technique and the homogeneous domination design, the state-feedback controller is recursively constructed such that the closed-loop systems are globally asymptotically stable. We also investigate the problem of using sampled-data feedback to synchronize a slave (driven) system with a master (driver) system. Based on the domination approach, both state-feedback and output-feedback control methods using sampled-data are proposed to make the tracking error converge to zero. This issue is of practical importance since in practice the system state is transmitted as sampled signal, and very often only the output is measurable. The problem of finite-time synchronization is also discussed where a homogeneous nonlinear controller is designed to make the tracking error converge to zero in a finite time. In addition, the finite-time control technique is applied to solve the tracking problem of a variable-speed wind turbine system. A finite-time nonlinear tracking controller has been designed for an obtained variable-speed wind turbine model to achieve finite-time asymptotic tracking control for reference rotor speed signals, in order to capture maximum wind power in the operational mode. The proposed scheme relies on Barrier Lyapunov Functions, with which the output of closed-loop system will remain bounded under a mild condition on the initial output. The comparison between the designed controller and traditional finite-time controller which is based on Quadratic Lyapunov Functions is presented.

Book Stability of Stationary Sets in Control Systems with Discontinuous Nonlinearities

Download or read book Stability of Stationary Sets in Control Systems with Discontinuous Nonlinearities written by Vladimir Andreevich I?A?kubovich and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2004 with total page 351 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents a development of the frequency-domain approach to the stability study of stationary sets of systems with discontinuous nonlinearities. The treatment is based on the theory of differential inclusions and the second Lyapunov method. Various versions of the Kalman-Yakubovich lemma on solvability of matrix inequalities are presented and discussed in detail. It is shown how the tools developed can be applied to stability investigations of relay control systems, gyroscopic systems, mechanical systems with a Coulomb friction, nonlinear electrical circuits, cellular neural networks, phase-locked loops, and synchronous machines.
