Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “How about bunking the next class and rushing to the cricket field and while you are at it, planting a bomb in the toilet?” Wait, what the hell am I asking you to do with deadlines to catch on!? But allow me to take you down the forgotten memory lanes and remind you of the times when… You had a fit of breathlessness in front of your crush, When FLAMES said marriage, you couldn’t help but blush. Blank calls played Morse codes, Two meant – you missed her loads. You were clumsy as shit, because her presence was sublime, But after your break-up, crying became your favorite pastime. You bunked the classes and said - 'Let the studies rot!' But you never missed Kiran ma'am's class, ‘coz she was pretty hot! ;) Cricket brought you glory, And planting a bomb in school changed your story. Life screwed you over and killed your spirit, But you’re glad that you anyway did it. Told from the eyes of an Indian middle-class teenager, this story will make you wonder what you would have done if you were named Ghanshyam and were born a pessimistic nerd, while your optimistic best friend believed in unicorns and utopia! And to add to your woes, what if you fell in love with the most beautiful girl of your school? Wouldn’t you then wait for a miracle to happen?

"I literally couldn't put it down and give Stealing Jenny my highest recommendation." Lisa M. Hendey, Founder of CatholicMom.com and author of "A Book of Saints for Catholic Moms" "Ellen Gable is a masterful storyteller. Stealing Jenny is a smoothly written, chilling tale of gripping suspense. There are terrifying moments and heart-wrenching moments. Catholic faith and hope are tested. Above all, the sacredness and privilege of precious new life is made indisputably evident. I never wanted it to end " Therese Heckenkamp, Traditional Catholic Novels.com "Stealing Jenny is my favorite kind of fiction: a thought-provoking psychological suspense novel in its own right, with a life-affirming message that adds even more to its depth. Another finely-plotted story and a cast of very real and well-drawn characters which highlight Ellen Gable's ability to write beautiful Catholic fiction in any genre." Krisi Keley, author, "On the Soul of a Vampire," and "Pro Luce Habere" "Stealing Jenny will keep you on the edge of your seat and probably destroy your sleep pattern as you stay up to find out what happens. But beyond being a great suspense, it's also an excellent example of morals in action and family life redeemed." Book Jellyfish Blooms

    Book Details:
  • Author : Kylie A. Pitt
  • Publisher : Springer Science & Business Media
  • Release : 2013-11-04
  • ISBN : 9400770154
  • Pages : 308 pages

Download or read book Jellyfish Blooms written by Kylie A. Pitt and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-11-04 with total page 308 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Jellyfish are one of the most conspicuous animals in our oceans and are renowned for their propensity to form spectacular blooms. The unique features of the biology and ecology of jellyfish that enable them to bloom also make them successful invasive species and, in a few places around the world, jellyfish have become problematic. As man increasingly populates the world’s coastlines, interactions between humans and jellyfish are rising, often to the detriment of coastal-based industries such as tourism, fishing and power generation. However we must not lose sight of the fact that jellyfish have been forming blooms in the oceans for at least 500 million years, and are an essential component of normal, healthy ocean ecosystems. Here many of the world’s leading jellyfish experts explore the science behind jellyfish blooms. We examine the unique features of jellyfish biology and ecology that cause populations to ‘bloom and bust’, and, using case studies, we show why jellyfish are important to coastal and ocean ecosystem function. We outline strategies coastal managers can use to mitigate the effects of blooms on coastal industries thereby enabling humans to coexist with these fascinating creatures. Finally we highlight how jellyfish benefit society; providing us with food and one of the most biomedically-important compounds discovered in the 20th century.
