Download or read book Doctrine of the Eons written by Paige-Patric J. D. Samuels and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2019-06-13 with total page 143 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Doctrine of the Eons: God’s Immutable Plan is an account of how God will bring about the salvation and reconciliation of all mankind. Each chapter provides a theological account of how this will be accomplished, including dispelling common myths about God and focusing on the meaning of the word “immutable.” This leads to a discussion of the Hebrew and Greek definitions of “eon” and “eternal,” and we discover that neither the Old nor the New Testament uses the word "eternal." “Eternal” tends to refer to an indefinite amount of time, whereas “eon” is more definite; the latter term is primarily used when the Bible talks about the end-times. Finally, the doctrine of universal salvation is presented, arguing that God will have all men be saved and that he will eventually reconcile all creation.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: My wife and I love our sons unconditionally and equally. Talking with one of them about his atheism has brought me to a new dimension in my relationship with him, to a review of my own christian beliefs, to a more critical examination of the church, and to a different understanding of ministry in today's world. As personal as I make this all sound, my family represents a thousand families, a hundred thousand and more, who have sat in painful silence because religious differences have taken away their voice. They tire of confrontation, angry discussions, verse hurling and jabbing one another with theories over every conceivable divisive issue. It is a powerful idea that those who do not share our faith should know that we do, not so much in our argument as in our love. It is time to listen.
Download or read book Worship Adoration and Action written by D. A. Carson and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2002-09-10 with total page 257 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Anxious that current interest in and discussion of worship are too much preoccupied with mere mechanics, Dr. Carson joined with an international group of scholars to produce this final volume of the five Tyndale Consultations. First, a biblical theology of worship is explored by the Japanese, Yoshiaki Hattori, and the Australian, David Peterson. From this foundation, there follow reflections upon the practice of worship in nine different contexts: denominational (including Anglicanism and Lutheranism), cultural (South America and the Two Thirds World), and also the charismatic movement and student groups. In the final part, the Croat theologian Miroslav Volf concludes that worship is Òthe outworking of God-centredness in individual and corporate experience'. The opinions expressed, although at times in disagreement with one another, are an indication of the wealth of diversity within the worldwide church.

Download or read book Chosen a Study in the Doctrine of Election written by CHET CATALDO and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2013-11-12 with total page 182 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Has God decided everything beforehand, in ages past? Or are the choices and decisions made by you and I real choices? The doctrine of election has split the Christian Church. Denominations and congregations have been formed over agreement or disagreement with how election is interpreted. There have been numerous Christian families that have seen members take opposing sides over this teaching. In addition, this doctrine has caused the hearts of many sincere Christians to tremble, fear and at times even give up. Election, to be chosen is a teaching that is taught throughout the Bible. However, the interpretation of election found within many churches misses the meaning that is taught in the Word of God. Election does not mean that God has pre-determined the destiny of a certain few. The primary meaning of election means to belong to God. The present study is an attempt to explain the Biblical teaching of election.
