Book German Dances Arranged for Trombone Quartet with Parts for Optional Brass Ensemble

Download or read book German Dances Arranged for Trombone Quartet with Parts for Optional Brass Ensemble written by Paul G. Young Ph. D. and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2019-01-24 with total page 64 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This collection of four of Beethoven's German Dances enables middle-level brass players to explore the Classical style at the end of the 1700s while performing as an ensemble. These arrangements, each lasting only about 11/2 minutes, can be performed by a trombone quartet or as a mixed brass quartet. The publication consists of a score for each dance and individual parts which may be photocopied. Parts are arranged as such...-the 1st trumpet part doubles 1st trombone. -the 2nd trumpet part doubles 2nd trombone.-the 1st and 2nd F Horn parts double the 2nd and 3rd trombone parts.-A tuba part doubles 4th trombone.Besides using these arrangements to feature an aspiring trombone quartet, they could be used to feature the entire brass section in middle level bands. The dances are short, less than 20 measures in length for each, with relatively easy rhythmic demands and range. They provide opportunities to develop articulation, especially staccato and legato. They are written in 3/4-time signature with two 8-bar phrases (which repeat). Played with repeats, the dances are in A-B-A form and provide young students with the experience of playing triple meter in one.

Book Four Easy German Dances For Trombone and Mixed Brass Quartet

This book was released on 2019-03-04 with total page 70 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Looking for an entry-level quartet for solo and ensemble for beginning or middle-level trombones or mixed brass? These works are intended to fulfill that need. For every instrument, there is a need for printed music which is appropriate for beginners, intermediate, and advanced performers. These quartets are intended for beginning and middle-level trombonists but could be used by any combination of brass players. This collection is intended to help young instrumentalists explore the Classical style of the latter part of the 1700s. The four selections are arranged in concert key with parts for Trombone, Horn in F, Trumpet, and Tuba. The collection includes a score for each dance and individual parts which may be photocopied.Besides using these arrangements to feature aspiring musicians at concerts and recitals, they could be used to showcase the entire brass section of beginning and middle-level bands. These arrangements would be useful at middle grades with smaller bands and performing groups of limited instrumentation. These dances are short, between 16 and 24 measures in length, with very easy rhythmic demands and range. The melodies, mostly moving eighth note runs in legato style, are written for 1st trombone and doubled in 1st trumpet. The tuba doubles the 4th trombone.Horn in F parts double 2nd and 3rd trombone.2nd trumpet doubles 2nd trombone. The dances provide opportunities to develop articulation, especially staccato and legato, and hear simple chord progression harmony. They are written in 3/4-time signature. Played with repeats, the dances provide young students with the experience of playing triple meter in one.
