Book Geohydrological Feasibility Study of the Black Warrior Basin for the Potential Applicability of Jack W McIntyre s Patented Process

Download or read book Geohydrological Feasibility Study of the Black Warrior Basin for the Potential Applicability of Jack W McIntyre s Patented Process written by and published by . This book was released on 1994 with total page 40 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Geraghty & Miller, Inc. of Midland, Texas conducted geological and hydrological feasibility studies of the potential applicability of Jack W. Mclntyre's patented process for the recovery of natural gas from coalbed/sand formations in the Black Warrior Basin of Mississippi and Alabama through literature surveys. Methane gas from coalbeds in the Black Warrior Basin is confined to the coal fields of northern Alabama. Produced water from degasification of coalbeds is currently disposed by surface discharge. Treatment prior to discharge consists of short-term storage and in-stream dilution. Mr. Mclntyre's process appears to be applicable to the Black Warrior Basin and could provide an environmentally sound alternative for produced water production.

Book Geohydrologic Feasibility Study of the Powder River Basin for the Potential Application of a Production Process Patented by Jack W McIntyre

Download or read book Geohydrologic Feasibility Study of the Powder River Basin for the Potential Application of a Production Process Patented by Jack W McIntyre written by and published by . This book was released on 1993 with total page 48 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Geraghty & Miller, Inc. of Midland, Texas conducted geologic and hydrologic feasibility studies of the potential applicability of a patented (US Patent Office No. 4,766,957) process developed by Jack W. McIntyre for the recovery of natural gas from coalbed/sand formations in the Powder River Basin. General research, based on a review of published literature from both private and public sources, indicates that the shallow, thick subbituminous coal seams found in the Powder River Basin exhibit significant potential for the application of this patented process. These coal deposits can be characterized, on the basis of established coalbed methane production, as being highly water productive. The desorption and economic recovery of coalbed methane, widely believed to be biogenic in origin, from these low-grade deposits will require the subsequent dewatering of these geologic formations. The patented process, developed by Mr. McIntyre and described in the compendium of this study, may offer a cost-effective means of methane recovery and downhole disposal of produced groundwaters.

Book Geologic Study of the Black Warrior Basin

Download or read book Geologic Study of the Black Warrior Basin written by CER Corporation and published by . This book was released on 1982 with total page 54 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Black Warrior Basin, located in northwestern Alabama and northeastern Mississippi, is a triangular area of 35,000 square miles. This report's objectives is to characterize its lower-permeability gas-bearing formations for inclusion in the Gas Research Institute tight gas sands program. The characterized reservoir units include a summary of the regional geologic setting, hydrocarbon distribution and production, exploration activity and pipeline availability. Within the study area, the Lower Mississippian Carter Sandstone may have sufficient extent, reservoir characteristics and gas reserves to be of interest to the tight gas sands program. cf. Download or read book Petroleum Source Rocks written by Barry J. Katz and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 333 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Over the past two decades there has been increased interest in the availability of hydrocarbon charge through a better understanding of petroleum geochemistry and the identification and characterization of petroleum source rocks. These rocks are geochemically unique and form under specific sets of circumstances. This book brings together both geologic and geochemical data from fifteen petroleum source rocks, ranging in age from Devonian to Eocene, that would otherwise be widely dispersed in the literature or available only in proprietary corporate databases. Much of this information, presented in either a tabular or graphic fashion, provides the petroleum explorationist and the geochemist with a framework to establish relationships among various geochemical indices and depositional settings.

Book Philosophy of Education

Download or read book Philosophy of Education written by George Herbert Mead and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2015-11-17 with total page 197 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Never before published, this book features George Herbert Mead's illuminating lectures on the Philosophy of Education at the University of Chicago during the early 20th century. These lectures provide unique insight into Mead's educational thought and reveal how his early psychological writings on the social character of meaning and the social origin of reflective consciousness was central in the development of what Mead referred to as his social conception of education. The introduction to the book provides an overview of Mead's educational thought and places it against the wider social, intellectual, and historical background of modern educational concepts.

Download or read book Drainage Geochemistry written by M. Hale and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 793 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The considerable exploration success achieved by geochemistry over the last several decades - and still continuing - has provided both the basis and rationale for the Handbook of Exploration Geochemistry series, including Volume 6, Drainage Geochemistry in Mineral Exploration. With contributions from 25 experts of truly global professional experience in drainage geochemistry, this book is a thorough appraisal of the state of the art in the use of surface and sub-surface waters, stream and lake sediments, heavy minerals for mineral exploration in tropical rain forests, temperate glaciated terrains, mountain chains, arid deserts and regions of agricultural and industrial pollution. Additional attention is given to gold and uranium exploration, and to the growing role of drainage geochemistry as a multi-purpose environmental mapping technique with applications in human health studies, ore deposit modelling and pollution monitoring. It comprises 16 chapters, more than 250 figures and a bibliography of some 1600 references. This book is the most extensive and detailed single work on the principles and applications of drainage geochemistry in mineral exploration blending both theoretical considerations and practical implementations.
