Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Genesis Decoded: Esoteric Interpretations from the First Book of the Bible takes you on a transformative journey through the foundational text of Genesis, unveiling deep spiritual meanings and hidden truths within its verses. Each chapter of this book provides an esoteric interpretation of the key stories and figures in Genesis, offering a fresh perspective on the ancient narrative and its relevance to modern spiritual seekers. The Creation and Fall (Genesis 1-3) In this chapter, the creation of the world and humanity is explored through an esoteric lens. The narrative of the Fall is decoded to reveal profound insights into the duality of human nature, the struggle between spiritual aspiration and material desire, and the implications of humanity’s first act of disobedience. The First Families and Early Humanity (Genesis 4-5) The stories of Cain, Abel, and Seth offer lessons on the consequences of sin, the potential for redemption, and the continuing divine plan. The mystifying figure of Enoch, who walked with God, is also interpreted as a symbol of spiritual ascension and inner transformation. The Great Flood (Genesis 6-9) This chapter delves into the story of Noah, the ark, and the great flood, revealing themes of divine justice, human wickedness, and renewal. The covenant with Noah is examined as a representation of the enduring relationship between humanity and the divine, and the flood itself is viewed as a symbol of purification and spiritual rebirth. The Nations and the Tower of Babel (Genesis 10-11) The genealogy of Noah’s descendants and the story of the Tower of Babel are explored to uncover deeper meanings about human ambition, the unity and division of nations, and the consequences of attempting to reach the divine through ego-driven efforts. The scattering of languages is interpreted as a metaphor for the fragmentation of spiritual understanding. The Call of Abraham (Genesis 12-15) In this chapter, the focus shifts to the patriarch Abraham, his call by God, and the establishment of the divine covenant. The promises made to Abraham are explored for their esoteric significance, representing the spiritual journey of faith, trust, and the unfolding of divine purpose in one’s life. The Patriarchs: Isaac and Jacob (Genesis 16-28) The births of Isaac and Jacob, along with their pivotal roles in the continuation of God’s covenant, are examined. Esoteric interpretations of key events, such as Abraham’s test of faith and Jacob’s dream at Bethel, provide insights into the trials, blessings, and divine encounters that shape the spiritual path. Jacob’s Family and Journey (Genesis 29-36) Jacob’s marriages, the birth of his children, and his return to Canaan are analyzed for their deeper spiritual meanings. Jacob’s wrestling with God and the renewal of the covenant are highlighted as transformative experiences that reflect the inner struggles and ultimate triumphs on the path to spiritual enlightenment. Joseph’s Rise to Power (Genesis 37-41) Joseph’s journey from betrayal by his brothers to his rise in Egypt is interpreted as a powerful narrative of resilience, divine providence, and the realization of destiny. His ability to interpret dreams is seen as a symbol of spiritual insight and connection to the divine will. The Reconciliation and Settlement in Egypt (Genesis 42-50) The final chapter examines Joseph’s reunion with his family, the blessings of Jacob, and the settlement in Egypt. Themes of forgiveness, reconciliation, and the fulfillment of God’s plan are explored, offering readers a profound understanding of the cyclical nature of spiritual growth and the enduring legacy of faith. Genesis Decoded is an invitation to explore the depths of spiritual wisdom and apply these ancient teachings to one’s own journey through life.

Download or read book Mysteries of Genesis written by Charles Fillmore and published by Jazzybee Verlag. This book was released on 2014-05-12 with total page 429 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: THE BOOK OF GENESIS is the key to the Bible. In the New Testament it is quoted twenty-seven times literally and thirty-eight times substantially. It tells in a very few words how God first imaged man and the universe and then turned the development over to Jehovah, who has been in a process of manifestation for ages and aeons. The "Five Books of Moses," of which Genesis is the first, have always been credited to Moses, but that he was the author seems doubtful in the face of the many stories of creation found in the legends and hieroglyphs of ancient Egypt, Chaldea, and other nations that are almost identical with those of Genesis. It would thus seem that Moses edited the legends of the ages and compiled them into an allegorical history of creation. The truths in this book will be revealed to the reader through his own spiritual unfoldment. Spiritual things are spiritually discerned. The spiritual revelations that you seem to get from books and teachers already existed as submerged experiences in your own soul. The essential truths have been worked out in this or previous incarnations, and when you were reminded of the buried idea it blazed forth as a light from without. So all that you are or ever will be must come from your own spiritual achievements.

Book The Generations of Heaven and Earth

Download or read book The Generations of Heaven and Earth written by Jon Garvey and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2020-01-21 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: New science has surprised many by showing, contrary to received wisdom, that a real Adam and Eve could have lived amongst other humans in historical times and yet be the ancestors of every living person, as traditional Christianity has always taught. This theory was first published in book form in 2019, but Jon Garvey, familiar with it from its early days, believes it helps confirm the Christian account of reality by giving it a solid foundation in science and history. In this book he argues that the long existence of other people before and alongside Adam was in all likelihood known to the Bible's original authors. This conclusion helps build a compelling biblical "big story" of a new kind of created order initially frustrated by Adam's failure, but finally accomplished in Christ. This "new creation" theme complements that of the "old creation" covered in his first book, God's Good Earth. The two together contribute to a unified, and fully orthodox, understanding of the overall message of the Bible.

Book Genesis 1 and the Creationism Debate

Download or read book Genesis 1 and the Creationism Debate written by Steven DiMattei and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2016-04-08 with total page 138 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Modern readers often assume that Genesis 1 depicts the creation of the earth and sky as we know it. Yet in an appeal for textual honesty, Steven DiMattei shows that such beliefs are more representative of modern views about this ancient text than the actual claims and beliefs of its author. Through a culturally contextualized and objective reading of the texts of Genesis 1 and 2, this study not only introduces readers to the textual data that convincingly demonstrate that Genesis' two creation accounts were penned by different authors who held contradictory views and beliefs about the origin of the world and of man and woman, but also establishes on textual grounds that what the author of Genesis 1 portrayed God creating was the world as its author and culture perceived and experienced it--not the objective world, but a subjective world, subject to the culturally conditioned views and beliefs of its author. In the end, this book clearly illustrates that the Bible's ancient texts do in fact represent the beliefs and worldviews of ancient peoples and cultures--not those of God, not those of later readers, and especially not those of modern-day Creationists.

In this revised and expanded version of the classic book, Bethsheba Ashe tackles questions which have been asked for as a long as the Bible has existed - why Adam and Eve had to leave the Garden of Eden; how Moses parted the Red Sea; whether Elijah riding the fiery chariot to heaven as real - which can all be answered all through the art of gematria, in the most advanced and thorough study of the subject ever published to date. The ciphers in the book are utilized by the Shematria Gematria Calculator, created by the author herself to assist readers as she guides you through the ancient Hebrew system. Book The real meaning of the first line of Genesis

Download or read book The real meaning of the first line of Genesis written by Helena Petrovna Blavatsky and published by Philaletheians UK. This book was released on 2019-09-17 with total page 26 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There are two ways of rendering the first line of Genesis: one way is exoteric, by Christian Bible interpreters; the other, Kabbalistic — divided into the Rabbinical, and the purely Kabbalistic or Occult method. Why Christians sing never-ceasing laudations to the Mosaic Jews, who repudiated all the other Gods, preserved the most phallic and, then, most impudently, proclaimed themselves Monotheists? Jesus ever steadily ignored Jehovah and went against the Mosaic commandments. He recognized his Heavenly Father alone, and prohibited public worship. Ralston Skinner’s numerical analysis of the first sentence of Genesis, on which hung in blind faith the whole Christian religion, shows that the Bible was made to yield Phallicism, and that alone. To know the full septenary significance of the Primordial Circle, the Pyramid and the Kabbalistic Bible must be read in the light of the figure on which the temples of India are built. Genesis cannot yield anything higher or more sublime than phallic elements, the root and the cornerstone of its dead-letter meaning. Anthropomorphism and Revelation dig an impassable chasm between the material world and the ultimate spiritual truths. The so-called “creation” of Genesis is not the Primary Creation, and the Elohim are not “God,” not even the higher Planetary Spirits, but the Architects of this physical planet and of man’s material body or encasement. The Elohim, far from being supreme or even exalted powers in Nature, are only lower Angels. This was the teaching of the Gnostics, the most philosophical of all the early Christian Churches. They correspond to the Prajapatis of the Hindus, the fashioners of man’s material and astral form only. Mathers censures the translators of the Bible, who have suppressed every single reference to the feminine form of Deity. With the Occultists of the East the “One and Changeless,” Parabrahman, the Absolute All, the ONE and Secondless, cannot be conceived as standing in any relation to things finite and conditioned. But what especially strikes the student of the Kabbalah is the malicious persistency with which the translators of the Bible have jealously crowded out of sight and suppressed every reference to the feminine form of the Deity. They have, as we have just seen, translated the feminine plural “Elohim,” by the masculine singular, “God.” They also concealed the fact that Ruah, “Spirit,” is feminine. It then follows that the Holy Ghost of the New Testament is a feminine Potency. In the Hebrew, as in the Greek alphabet, there are no distinct numeral characters, and consequently each letter has a certain numerical value attached to it. From this circumstance results the important fact that every Hebrew word constitutes a number, and every number a word. The conclusion of Mathers’ analysis of the Elohim is that they are not one, nor two, nor even a trinity, but an army of Creative Powers. Madame Blavatsky names the true Creators. The “First-Born,” or Logos, is not an Emanation, but an Energy inherent in, and co-eternal with, Parabrahman — the ONE. Thus it is not the ONE and Unconditioned, nor even Its reflection, that creates, but only the “Seven Gods” who fashion the Universe out of primordial Matter, vivified into objective life by the reflection into it of the One and only Reality. Jehovah is at best, the Heavenly Man or Adam-Kadmon, used by the self-created Spirit (Logos), as a chariot, a vehicle in His descent to the phenomenal world of gross matter. The Secret Doctrine and the Kabbalah are in perfect concordance in St. Paul’s Epistles. The Zohar is not a genuine production of the Hebrew mind. It is a veil over the Secret Doctrine. The Zohar is the repository and compendium of the oldest doctrines of the East, transmitted orally at first, and then written down in independent treatises during the Captivity at Babylon, and finally brought together by Rabbi Shimon ben Yohai, toward the beginning of the Christian era. Modern Christianity is Paganism pure and simple, exoterically; and transcendental and practical Magic or Occultism, esoterically. The Solar Trinity is not Mazdean, but Universal, and as old as man. All temples in Antiquity were invariably made to face the Sun, their portals opening to the East. The last of the Solar Priests in Europe was the Imperial Initiate, Julian, now called the Apostate. He tried to benefit the world by revealing a portion of the great mystery of the Solar Trinity, and died for the same crime as Socrates. The Roman Catholic Church stands accused, not of worshipping under other names the Divine Beings worshipped throughout Antiquity, but of declaring idolatrous, not only the Pagans ancient and modern, but every Christian nation that has freed itself from the Roman yoke. Only the Philosophers, who studied Astrology and Magic, knew that the “Last Word” was to be sought in the Occult forces emanating from those constellations that are the physical bodies of Divine Beings.

Book excerpt: A National Book Award winner and New York Times bestselling author deepens and refreshes our view of early Christianity while casting a disturbing light on the evolution of the attitudes passed down to us. "Confirms her reputation as both a scholar and a popular interpreter.... Continuously rewarding and illuminating." —The New York Times How did the early Christians come to believe that sex was inherently sinful? When did the Fall of Adam become synonymous with the fall of humanity? What turned Christianity from a dissident sect that championed the integrity of the individual and the idea of free will into the bulwark of a new imperial order—with the central belief that human beings cannot not choose to sin? In this provocative masterpiece of historical scholarship Elaine Pagels re-creates the controversies that racked the early church as it confronted the riddles of sexuality, freedom, and sin as embodied in the story of Genesis. And she shows how what was once heresy came to shape our own attitudes toward the body and the soul.
