This book was released on 2018-09-09 with total page 20 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from General Crop Report as of May 1, 1942 Pastures and ranges have a good start in most States and on May 1 were reported in better condition than on May 1 in any of the past ten years except last year. With numbers of producing livestock and poultry above or approaching previous peaks, and large reserves of grain and hay on hand, the production of livestock and livestock products seems likely to continue outstandingly heavy for some time. During April milk production was 4 percent above production in April last year and with 14 per cent more hens egg production was up about 17 percent. Forecasts for individual creps can be only approximations this early in the season but no signs of shortage have appeared and fairly heavy production of most groups of creps still seems the most probable outcome. This book was released on 2017-12-20 with total page 44 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from General Crop Report as of September 1, 1942 With average weather the final surveys are expected to show record production of grain. Hay. Oilseeds. Beans. Peas. Sugar crops. Fruits and vegetables. Also a large cr0p of cotton and about average cr0ps of potatoes. Sweetpotatoes and tobacco. The high yields per acre far more than offset the 6 percent reduction °f cr0p acreage as compared with the peak of ten years ago and aggregate crop production is now expected to be 27 percent above the 1923-32 average. 13 percent higher than the former peak in 1937 and 14 percent higher than in 1941. With record numbers of livestock and poultry on hand. With milk and egg production continuing substantially above previous levels. With record supplies of feed grains _and also of hay and forage in sight and with the best fall pastures since 1915. There seems every reason to expect the production of livestock and livestock products to continue higher than in past years until a new crop and pasture season de_velops. September rep_orts on the condition of Western ranges were lower than a year ago and are markedly lower west of the Rockies and in the Southwest but reports from all States except Arizona are above the September average for the preceding ten years. Moisture conditions 1n the Western Winter Wheat Belt are also highly favorable for seeding wheat this fall.
