Book Gamma ray Decay Schemes for sup 93 Kr sup 93 Rb and sup 93 Sr

Download or read book Gamma ray Decay Schemes for sup 93 Kr sup 93 Rb and sup 93 Sr written by and published by . This book was released on 1976 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A study of the gamma-ray de-excitation following the beta decays of $sup 93$Kr, $sup 93$Rb, and $sup 93$Sr using the TRISTAN on-line separator facility is reported. Gamma-ray singles and gamma-gamma coincidence measurements were made using Ge(Li) detectors. Of the 162 gamma rays observed in the decay of $sup 93$Sr, 143, representing more than 99 percent of the total gamma-ray intensity observed, were placed in a level scheme containing 36 levels. For the decay of $sup 93$Rb, 243 gamma rays were observed, of which 231 are placed in a level scheme consisting of 74 levels. This again represents a placement of over 99 percent of the total gamma-ray intensity measured. In the case of the $sup 93$Kr decay approximately 98.5 percent of the observed gamma-ray intensity has been accounted for by the proposed level scheme. This results from the placement of 203 of the 217 gamma rays assigned to this decay in a level scheme comprising 56 levels. Beta-branching for these decays were determined from transition intensity balances. Spin and parity assignments were proposed, whenever possible, on the basis of gamma-ray transition probabilities and deduced log ft values. A comparison is made with the available reaction data for the $sup 93$Y level scheme. In all cases an attempt has been made to explain some of the levels in terms of the nuclear shell model and decay systematics. 18 figures, 20 tables, 68 references. (auth).

Book THE DECAY OF 68CU AND 68GA

Download or read book THE DECAY OF 68CU AND 68GA written by K. Vaughan and published by . This book was released on 1969 with total page 10 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The decay of the nucleides 68Cu and 68Ga, both populating levels in 68Zn, has been studied by means of Ge(Li) and NaI(Tl) gamma-ray detectors. The 68Cu half-life of 31.64 plus or minus 0.98 sec and the energies of the 577.8, 805.7, 1077.4, 1262.1, 1744.8 and 1883.7 keV gamma-rays from 68Cu decay have been measured to a much greater precision than possible previously. The energies of gamma-rays from 68Ga decay have been confirmed. Gamma-gamma coincidence measurements with Ge(Li) and NaI(Tl) detectors have confirmed the existence of 578-1077 keV, 806-1077 keV, 1262-1077 keV and 1745-1077 keV cascades in 68Zn. These results and those for beta-intensities and log ft values are discussed in terms of the 68Cu and 68Ga decay schemes. (Author).

Book THE DECAY OF 56Co AND 56Mn

Download or read book THE DECAY OF 56Co AND 56Mn written by A. H. Sher and published by . This book was released on 1968 with total page 12 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Gamma radiations following the radioactive decay of 56Co and 56Mn have been measured with Ge(Li) detectors. From 56Co, previously unobserved gamma rays of energies 2213.0 and 3598.7 keV have been identified while those of energies 1810.9, 1963.4 and 2112.8 keV are confirmed. Gamma-gamma coincidence measurements have been carried out with Ge(Li) and NaI(Tl) detectors. Gamma spectra in coincidence with the 846.6, 1037.6 and 1238.0 keV gamma rays have been measured, and a number of gamma-gamma cascades identified. From 56Mn, a previously unreported gamma ray of energy 3119.3 keV has been observed. A revised decay scheme is presented together with a discussion of the information that the new data provide on level energies, spins and parities. (Author).

Book Decay of Mass separated 118Ag to Levels in 118Cd

Download or read book Decay of Mass separated 118Ag to Levels in 118Cd written by and published by . This book was released on 1978 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A study of the gamma-ray de-excitation following the beta decay of 118Ag using the TRISTAN on-line isotope separator is reported. Gamma-ray singles, gamma-gamma coincidence, and gamma-ray multiscale measurements were made using Ge(Li) detectors. A total of 52 gamma rays were observed in the decay of 118Ag. Thirty-eight of these were placed in a level scheme for 118Cd consisting of 20 excited states up to 3382 keV. Gamma-ray multiscale measurements indicated that 118Ag has an isomeric state at 128 keV with a half-life of 2.0 +- 0.2 seconds. The ground state half-life is 3.76 +- 0.15 seconds. The 118Ag decay scheme is compared with a previous decay study. The level scheme systematics are discussed and compared with recent collective model calculations.

Book Ge Li Study of Gamma Rays from Light Xenon Isotopes

Download or read book Ge Li Study of Gamma Rays from Light Xenon Isotopes written by Louis Lessard and published by . This book was released on 1966 with total page 43 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The introduction of Ge (Li) detectors for gamma rays allows a much better resolution than that obtainable previously with the scintillator-photomultiplier unit. Indeed the average loss of energy per ion pair in a Ge (Li) detector is about 2.4 eV, compared to the 130 eV required for one photoelectron in a scintillator-photomultiplier unit. [...]" --

Book excerpt: The decay of 78Br was invesTlgated with a Ge(Li) spectrometer and Ge(Li)-NaI(Tl) coincidence methods. Accurate energy and intensity determinations of 14 gamma rays have been performed. A level scheme with levels at 614.0, 1,308.1, 1,498.4, 1,758.5, 1,993.7, 2,334.4, 2,538, 3,090 and 3,253 keV is deduced. Spin and parity indications for most of the observed levels are given from electron capture and position decay considerations and gamma branches. (Author).

Book excerpt: The gamma-radiations following the decay of 112Ag have been studied with Ge(Li) detectors. Book Neutron Generators for Analytical Purposes

Download or read book Neutron Generators for Analytical Purposes written by International Atomic Energy Agency and published by IAEA Radiation Technology Repo. This book was released on 2012 with total page 145 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This publication addresses recent developments in neutron generator (NG) technology. It presents information on compact instruments with high neutron yield to be used for neutron activation analysis (NAA) and prompt gamma neutron activation analysis in combination with high count rate spectrometers. Traditional NGs have been shown to be effective for applications including borehole logging, homeland security, nuclear medicine and the on-line analysis of aluminium, coal and cement. Pulsed fast thermal neutron analysis, as well as tagged and timed neutron analysis, are additional techniques which can be applied using NG. Furthermore, NG can effectively be used for elemental analysis and is also effective for analysis of hidden materials by neutron radiography. Useful guidelines for developing NG based research laboratories are also provided in this publication.
