Book Gateway to the New Leadership

Download or read book Gateway to the New Leadership written by Martin Mourier and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2012 with total page 234 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Jørgen Vig Knudstorp (CEO LEGO Group) says about this book: First of all I want to thank you Martin, because you took the time and energy and used your intellect to write this book; a book which you asked me to write a few comments about. Seldom have I to such a degree identified myself with the storyline of a non-fictional book and seldom during my recent readings have I thought - "this, this is me" or "this is exactly how I felt and reacted" - rightly or wrongly, for good or for bad. Just as often I thought - "but that's exactly what I do but it's not working", or "God, my team and my management are really "deteriorating" or "maintaining" instead of "developing". Just as often I thought "but that step 2 with the self-esteem based characteristics, that's what others have made fun of and said I did wrong", even though it felt right. This is definitely the way forward in future management instead of hanging on to and being stuck in the past. The main message for me has been the importance of emotional and relational management of teams and the organisation alongside the rational and contextual. The central point being how the relational is just as much a discipline and experience that is hard to learn properly in line with the professional and contextual. The book maps out my next ten years as a leader and makes it evident that a gut feeling is actually an ability of its own. I find that there is so much material here and so much more to think about. This book is just the beginning of much more insight. I've gone back and looked in my notes where I've written: "Christ, this is really amazing, it's just so me to be me. I'm best when I'm just me. The better I become, the more I'm just me and the other way round." In an article in the daily Børsen about myself, the title "This Kierkegaardian self-acknowledgement" was used. So I would like to say thank you so VERY much. This book has done me an enormous favour and will be one for many more leaders. Jørgen Vig Knud

Book The Most Excellent Way to Lead

Download or read book The Most Excellent Way to Lead written by Perry Noble and published by NavPress. This book was released on 2016-03-01 with total page 285 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Speakers often use the words vision, boldness, and influence to describe the characteristics of effective leaders. Perry Noble, in The Most Excellent Way to Lead, makes the case that the heart of great leadership lies elsewhere. Perry, despite “winning” the label “least likely to succeed” in high school, beat the odds against him. Today, he inspires thirty-five thousand people every weekend to live for something greater than themselves. He credits this achievement to the leadership principles he has learned from the Bible. Surprisingly, the essence of leadership that produces genuine growth is buried in a Bible chapter often read at weddings. In this groundbreaking book, Perry walks us through that leadership chapter, describing the fifteen qualities of an inspirational leader. Whether you are an entrepreneur or a new parent, this book will encourage you to see every opportunity in life as a chance to lead in the “most excellent way.”

Through previously untold stories from Conant's tenure as CEO of Campbell Soup Company and Norgaard's vast consulting experience, the authors show that a leader's impact and legacy are built through hundreds, even thousands, of interactive moments in time. The good news is that anyone can develop "TouchPoint" mastery by focusing on three essential components: head, heart, and hands. TouchPoints speaks to the theory and craft of leadership, promoting a balanced presence of rational, authentic, active, and wise leadership practices. Leadership mastery in the smallest and otherwise ordinary moments can transform aimless activity in individuals and entropy in organizations into focused energy—one magical moment at a time.

Book excerpt: Discover the True Meaning of Being Blessed It’s not easy being a woman. The demands and expectations of us, and those we place on ourselves, can be overwhelming. While trying to navigate this thing called “life,” have you ever longed for a close friend, confidant, or mentor to walk alongside you and encourage you in Biblical womanhood? Debbie Morris did. And yet even as a young minister’s wife, she found herself without someone to fill this all-important role. So she turned to the Bible. Biblical women such as Eve, Sarah, and Miriam had always fascinated her. But now they also became her friends, sisters, and teachers. Through their stories, the Holy Spirit revealed how their lives—both joys and struggles—weren’t that much different from ours today and how they can teach women today to be a grace-filled, life-giving woman of God. In The Blessed Woman, Debbie invites you to learn from these women as well. As she shares her own stories and the stories of discerning women in the Bible, she addresses topics such as overcoming insecurity, finding purpose, establishing priorities, letting go, and waiting. The Blessed Woman reminds us how God longs for every woman to experience His tenderness—and to know the true meaning of being blessed.
