Experienced rescuer Subcaptain Taz Correa hides her wounded heart. A telekinetic tech-whiz recently transferred to the worst Galactic Search and Rescue unit in the galaxy, she’d hoped after her string of epically bad breakups she’d have a fresh start. But when she can’t fight her feelings for her new teammate, she’s terrified her secret affection will show and cost both their careers. Subcaptain Rylando Dalroinn’s telepathic connection to animals used to be everything. But he has no idea how to admit his growing attraction to Taz, especially as it’s completely against the rules. And when they’re sent as a team of two to help a devastated town, he knows he can’t afford to let his heart’s desire distract him from their dangerous mission. As Taz works with Rylando and his unusual squad of trained animal helpers to free a desperate group of citizens, she puts her life on the line to protect her partner’s beloved creatures. But when Rylando realizes the people he’s rescuing are more than just innocent victims, he’ll have to throw out the rulebook to save them both. Can love—and a clever crew of animals—guide the couple out of the rubble and into a future together? Galactic Search and Rescue is a pulse-pounding story in the Central Galactic Concordance space opera series. But in a matter of hours, everything changes. Woken from her unrestful sleep by brilliant lights reflecting through the visibility port in her sleeping quarters and the heavy impact of something docking against the Alphacarn Colony, Saxon sets out to find out what's unfolding. Grabbing her rucksack en route, she heads to the main part of the residence. Upon opening the entrance to the main part of her home she is faced with a blazing inferno. She is dragged from the burning scene by someone she finds out is Commander Kaven Farmane, her father's second-in-command. Chaos reigns all around, and the destruction of Alphacarn by a race of pirates known as the Binforcarns is inevitable. Saxon and Commander Farmane head to the Eridanison Star hoping the new crew are ready on board. Before heading aboard, both take a last look of the out-of-control flames in the colony that was once their home. With the crew discovered not to have made it on board, it’s left to Saxon and Commander Kaven Farmane to depart from what’s left of Alphacarn in search of help and a possible new start with the hope of bringing down the Back-Eyed Pirate Galaxy’s notorious murderer Tiris Thuban.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Prepare for an out-of-this-world experience in Letters from Another Galaxy. When toolmakers from an outer cluster of the Milky Way Galaxy arrive on Earth, they’re in for a surprise. Instead of the aggressive, sex-addicted species they expected to find, they encounter humans with complex emotions and desires. The Messianic aliens are on a mission to convert humanity, while the Bruin capture humans for genetic experiments and keep them as pets. But why do these alien species resemble monkeys? Meanwhile, the Space Gypsies boast an extraordinary sense of smell, even in space, and the Nautica are seeking new habitats for their species, with plans to seed the Red Sea. As if that weren’t enough, the novel explores the story of an abandoned shipment of human slaves, dumped on a cluster planet and left to fend for themselves. Turning feral, they embark on a journey of self-discovery, exploring what it means to be human. But the alien humanoids aren’t all benevolent. Some are bent on raping and pillaging, leaving the reader to wonder about their true motives. Letters from Another Galaxy is a gripping, thought-provoking novel that challenges our assumptions about extraterrestrial life and what it means to be human in a vast, mysterious universe.

Book U S Soviet cooperation in space

Download or read book U S Soviet cooperation in space written by and published by DIANE Publishing. This book was released on 1985 with total page 114 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Space holds a fascination for all of us. For many, it represents a final physical frontier, a place to explore the very essence of knowledge, to experiment with new technology, and to seek new levels of human adaptation and change. As the major spacefaring nation on our planet, the United States has taken special pride in our achievements in space. Discoveries in space science have already added immensely to our fund of knowledge. U.S. scientists have moved quickly to take advantage of new opportunities for learning, and the future of scientific work in space is virtually unlimited. Given the promise of space, an additional issue comes to the fore. How can the United States proceed in space in relation to the other principal spacefaring nation and superpower, the Soviet Union? What is to be gained or lost by working together in space? With regard to science in particular, can the two countries benefit from joint efforts? Can the two countries cooperate as well as compete? Since the beginning of the space age, the two countries have been examining these questions. This study was requested by Senators Matsunaga, Mathias, and Pell as a means to shed light on the subject at the time of the 10th anniversary of the major U.S.- Soviet cooperative endeavor, the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project. OTA is pleased to be able to provide this technical memorandum, outlining the principal issues of the debate, the history of cooperation, and the experience of France, another country involved in space cooperation with the U.S.S.R. Additional OTA documents that may be of interest include Civilian Space Stations and the U.S. Future in Space, Salyut: Soviet Steps Toward Human Presence in Space, and International Cooperation and Competition in Civilian Space Activities. OTA studies in the areas of technology transfer are cited in the text.
