Book Ordinary Differential Equations

Download or read book Ordinary Differential Equations written by Leonard Weiss and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2014-05-10 with total page 622 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ordinary Differential Equations: 1971 NRL–MRC Conference provides information pertinent to the fundamental aspects of ordinary differential equations. This book covers a variety of topics, including geometric and qualitative theory, analytic theory, functional differential equation, dynamical systems, and algebraic theory. Organized into two parts encompassing 51 chapters, this book begins with an overview of the results on the existence of periodic solutions of a differential equation. This text then describes an index for the isolated invariant sets of a flow on a compact metric space, which contains exactly the information of the Morse index. Other chapters consider the studies of certain classes of equations that can be interpreted as models of biological or economic processes. This book discusses as well the absolute stability of some classes of integro-differential systems. The final chapter deals with first-order differential equations. This book is a valuable resource for mathematicians, graduate students, and research workers.

Book EMC in Power Electronics

Download or read book EMC in Power Electronics written by Laszlo Tihanyi and published by Newnes. This book was released on 1995-04-04 with total page 417 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Electronics professionals will find this book invaluable when designing power equipment, because it describes in detail how to cope with the problem of electromagnetic interference. The author shows how to meet the exacting US and European EMC standards for conducted emissions. The book includes a wide range of EMI analysis techniques. An important focus is on the energy content of interference transient signals (traditional analysis concentrates on amplitude and frequency). This provides a more accurate picture of the EMI situation. For those who do not want or need detailed analysis techniques, many approximation methods are also provided. These simplified techniques give accurate results for all but the most stringent applications. The book contains several worked examples and an extensive bibliography, and is sure to be useful to electronic design engineers and others who need to meet international EMC regulations and standards. Laszlo Tihanyi has worked on EMC for over 20 years. Formerly Head of the Department of Power Electronics at the Hungarian Research Institute for the Electrical Industry, he focused primarily on solving EMI problems in electronic systems and developing a dimensioning method for power line filters.

Download or read book Actes de la Table ronde de g om trie diff rentielle written by Marcel Berger and published by SMF. This book was released on 1996 with total page 710 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This collection presents the proceedings from a Roundtable in Differential Geometry organized at the CIRM in Luminy (France) in July 1992 honoring the work of Marcel Berger. The contributions cover most of the fields studied by Berger in differential geometry: holonomy, curvature, spectrum of the Laplacian, isoperimetric and isosystolic inequalities, and some related subjects, such as Alexandrov spaces, elastica, and subriemannian geometry. The authors are mainly geometers who worked with Berger at some time. There are also contributions from younger geometers, and some papers include a brief review--keeping non-experts in mind--of recent results in the authors' particular fields.

Book Elements Of Computational Fluid Dynamics

Download or read book Elements Of Computational Fluid Dynamics written by John D Ramshaw and published by World Scientific Publishing Company. This book was released on 2011-02-25 with total page 140 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a brief introduction to the fundamental concepts of computational fluid dynamics (CFD). It is addressed to beginners, and presents the ABCs or bare essentials of CFD in their simplest and most transparent form. The approach taken is to describe the principal analytical tools required, including truncation-error and stability analyses, followed by the basic elements or building blocks of CFD, which are numerical methods for treating sources, diffusion, convection, and pressure waves. Finally, it is shown how those ingredients may be combined to obtain self-contained numerical methods for solving the full equations of fluid dynamics. The book should be suitable for self-study, as a textbook for CFD short courses, and as a supplement to more comprehensive CFD and fluid dynamics texts.

Book On Wafer Calibration Techniques Enabling Accurate Characterization of High Performance Silicon Devices at the mm Wave Range and Beyond

Download or read book On Wafer Calibration Techniques Enabling Accurate Characterization of High Performance Silicon Devices at the mm Wave Range and Beyond written by Andrej Rumiantsev and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2022-09-01 with total page 279 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The increasing demand for more content, services, and security drives the development of high-speed wireless technologies, optical communication, automotive radar, imaging and sensing systems and many other mm-wave and THz applications. S-parameter measurement at mm-wave and sub-mm wave frequencies plays a crucial role in the modern IC design debug. Most importantly, however, is the step of device characterization for development and optimization of device model parameters for new technologies. Accurate characterization of the intrinsic device in its entire operation frequency range becomes extremely important and this task is very challenging. This book presents solutions for accurate mm-wave characterization of advanced semiconductor devices. It guides through the process of development, implementation and verification of the in-situ calibration methods optimized for high-performance silicon technologies. Technical topics discussed in the book include: Specifics of S-parameter measurements of planar structures Complete mathematical solution for lumped-standard based calibration methods, including the transfer Thru-Match-Reflect (TMR) algorithms Design guideline and examples for the on-wafer calibration standards realized in both advanced SiGe BiCMOS and RF CMOS processes Methods for verification of electrical characteristics of calibration standards and accuracy of the in-situ calibration results Comparison of the new technique vs. conventional approaches: the probe-tip calibration and the pad parasitic de-embedding for various device types, geometries and model parameters New aspects of the on-wafer RF measurements at mmWave frequency range and calibration assurance.

Book Statistics of Extremes and Records in Random Sequences

Download or read book Statistics of Extremes and Records in Random Sequences written by Satya N. Majumdar and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2024-05-16 with total page 257 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Rare events such as earthquakes, tsunamis, floods etc do not fortunately occur every day, but when they do, their effects are devastating. These days, such rare events are particularly important to understand to characterize the global warming and climate changes. In addition to natural catastrophes, rare events such as big financial crashes also play a significant role in economy. In the absence of predictive models, the best way forward is to analyse the statistics of these extreme events and draw conclusions from it about the probability of their occurrences. Extreme value statistics (EVS) and the statistics of records in a random sequence are examples of a truly interdisciplinary topic, spanning from statistics and mathematics on one side to physics of disordered systems on the other. They have tremendous importance and practical applications in a wide variety of fields, such as climate science, finance, spin-glasses, and random matrices. Statistics and mathematical literature have explored the subject of the classical theory of EVS. However, more recently, EVS started to play a very important role in statistical physics, in particular in disordered systems. This has led to a plethora of activities, both in the statistical physics and in the mathematics communities over the last few decades. This book develops the theory of rare events, both for the classical uncorrelated as well as for correlated sequences, in terms of simple models and examples. Statistics of Extremes and Records in Random Sequences is a pedagogical book with examples illustrating the basic tools and techniques that are essential to a student starting to work in this interesting and rapidly developing field.
