Book Furniture Flammability Vol 2

Download or read book Furniture Flammability Vol 2 written by T. J. Ohlemiller and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2017-10-29 with total page 52 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Furniture Flammability, Vol. 2: An Investigation of the California Bulletin 133 Test; Characterization of the Ignition Source and a Comparable Gas Burner It is worth noting that the use of inert mock-ups for the characterization of the CB 133 source removes one element of variability. When the newsprint has begun to ignite a combustible substrate, energy feedback from the new flames (mainly radiation) can accelerate the newsprint burning process. This effectcan be expected to vary with the nature of the substrate. When the substrate is inert it is minimized. Book Furniture Flammability Vol 3

Download or read book Furniture Flammability Vol 3 written by William J. Parker and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2018-01-12 with total page 48 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Furniture Flammability, Vol. 3: An Investigation of the California Technical Bulletin 133 Test; Full Scale Chair Burns Furniture manufacturers, suppliers to the furniture industry, and representative associations of the furniture industry were surveyed prior to the selection of the materials. This was done in order to determine representative material combinations. This study however, does not include blends of fabrics wool nylon which represent a large percentage of the fabrics utilized in the contract furnishings market. The flammability characteristics of blended fibers and fabrics are much more complex and not within the scope of this work. The intent of this study was to assess the technical merits of TB 133, not to evaluate the state of the art in flame retardant upholstered materials. The material combinations tested in the full-scale upholstered furniture tests were based upon the use of two foam types, a fiberglass interliner, and four fabrics. The foams investigated were melamine-treated polyurethane foam and a polyurethane foam that had passed the California Bulletin 117 test. The four fabrics were nylon, polyolefin, a fire retardant polyvinylchloride, and wool. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. This book was released on 2018-01-12 with total page 36 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Furniture Flammability, an Investigation of the California Technical Bulletin 133 Test, Vol. 1: Measuring the Hazards of Furniture Fires In Fiscal Year 1989 the Congress requested a study on ignition of upholstered furniture. The desire was to provide a sound technical basis for a test method to measure the fire hazard of upholstered furniture subject to flaming ignition. This need was prompted by the increasing concern for fire safety in public occupancies and the development and interest in the use of California Technical Bulletin 133 [171. The short range objectives of this study are reported in a three part series listed below: Furniture Flammability: An Investigation of the California Technical Bulletin 133 Test.
