Book Adaptive Control Processes

Download or read book Adaptive Control Processes written by Richard E. Bellman and published by Princeton University Press. This book was released on 2015-12-08 with total page 275 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The aim of this work is to present a unified approach to the modern field of control theory and to provide a technique for making problems involving deterministic, stochastic, and adaptive processes of both linear and nonlinear type amenable to machine solution. Mr. Bellman has used the theory of dynamic programming to formulate, analyze, and prepare these processes for numerical treatment by digital computers. The unique concept of the book is that of a single problem stretching from recognition and formulation to analytic treatment and computational solution. Due to the emphasis upon ideas and concepts, this book is equally suited for the pure and applied mathematician, and for control engineers in all fields. Originally published in 1961. The Princeton Legacy Library uses the latest print-on-demand technology to again make available previously out-of-print books from the distinguished backlist of Princeton University Press. These editions preserve the original texts of these important books while presenting them in durable paperback and hardcover editions. The goal of the Princeton Legacy Library is to vastly increase access to the rich scholarly heritage found in the thousands of books published by Princeton University Press since its founding in 1905.

Book The Green s Function Associated with One and Two Dimensional Problems

Download or read book The Green s Function Associated with One and Two Dimensional Problems written by Sana Munir and published by GRIN Verlag. This book was released on 2015-04-27 with total page 18 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Essay from the year 2015 in the subject Mathematics - General, Basics, , language: English, abstract: In mathematics a green’s function is type of function used to solve inhomogeneous differential equations subject to specific initial conditions or boundary conditions. Green’s functions provide an important tool when we study the boundary value problem. They also have intrinsic value for a mathematician. Also green’s functions in general are distribution, not necessarily proper function. Green functions are also useful for solving wave equation, diffusion equation and in quantum mechanics, where the green’s function of the Hamiltonian is a key concept, with important links to the concept of density of states. In this project construction of green’s function in one and two dimension has shown. There are more then one way of constructing greens’ function (if it exist) but the result is always same. Due to this we can say that green’s function for a given linear system is unique.

Book Green s Functions in the Theory of Ordinary Differential Equations

Download or read book Green s Functions in the Theory of Ordinary Differential Equations written by Alberto Cabada and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-11-29 with total page 180 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides a complete and exhaustive study of the Green’s functions. Professor Cabada first proves the basic properties of Green's functions and discusses the study of nonlinear boundary value problems. Classic methods of lower and upper solutions are explored, with a particular focus on monotone iterative techniques that flow from them. In addition, Cabada proves the existence of positive solutions by constructing operators defined in cones. The book will be of interest to graduate students and researchers interested in the theoretical underpinnings of boundary value problem solutions.

Book Dynamic Programming and the Variation of Green s Functions

Download or read book Dynamic Programming and the Variation of Green s Functions written by Richard Bellman and published by . This book was released on 1957 with total page 10 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The functional equation technique of dynamic programming is applied to the study of quadratic functionals whose Euler variational equations are linear self-adjoint partial differential equations of the second order. A first consequence is the classical Hadamard variational formula for the Green's function of a region. Some extensions are indicated. (Author).

Download or read book Green s Functions written by Yuri A. Melnikov and published by Walter de Gruyter. This book was released on 2012-04-02 with total page 448 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Green's functions represent one of the classical and widely used issues in the area of differential equations. This monograph is looking at applied elliptic and parabolic type partial differential equations in two variables. The elliptic type includes the Laplace, static Klein-Gordon and biharmonic equation. The parabolic type is represented by the classical heat equation and the Black-Scholes equation which has emerged as a mathematical model in financial mathematics. The book is attractive for practical needs: It contains many easily computable or computer friendly representations of Green's functions, includes all the standard Green's functions and many novel ones, and provides innovative and new approaches that might lead to Green's functions. The book is a useful source for everyone who is studying or working in the fields of science, finance, or engineering that involve practical solution of partial differential equations.

Book Functional Equations in the Theory of Dynamic Programming xii Complex Operators and Min max Variation

Download or read book Functional Equations in the Theory of Dynamic Programming xii Complex Operators and Min max Variation written by R. Sherman Lehman and published by . This book was released on 1960 with total page 19 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Previous papers have applied the functional equation approach of dynamic programming to the study of variational problems associated with the Sturm-Liouville equation of second order with real coefficients. In this way, it was possible to obtain the dependence of the Green's function upon the interval length. From this was obtained the corresponding dependence of the characteristic values and the characteristic functions, and similar results for vector-matrix systems. To apply the same general techniques to the study of equations with complex coefficients, min-max variation was used. It is shown that this method can be applied rigorously.
