Book Quantum Tunneling And Field Electron Emission Theories

Download or read book Quantum Tunneling And Field Electron Emission Theories written by Shi-dong Liang and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2013-11-29 with total page 408 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Quantum tunneling is an essential issue in quantum physics. Especially, the rapid development of nanotechnology in recent years promises a lot of applications in condensed matter physics, surface science and nanodevices, which are growing interests in fundamental issues, computational techniques and potential applications of quantum tunneling. The book involves two relevant topics. One is quantum tunneling theory in condensed matter physics, including the basic concepts and methods, especially for recent developments in mesoscopic physics and computational formulation. The second part is the field electron emission theory, which covers the basic field emission concepts, the Fowler-Nordheim theory, and recent developments of the field emission theory especially in some fundamental concepts and computational formulation, such as quantum confinement effects, Dirac fermion, Luttinger liquid, carbon nanotubes, coherent emission current, quantum tunneling time problem, spin polarized field electron emission and non-equilibrium Green's function method for field electron emission. This book presents in both academic and pedagogical styles, and is as possible as self-complete to make it suitable for researchers and graduate students in condensed matter physics and vacuum nanoelectronics.

Book Supramolecular Chemistry of Fullerenes and Carbon Nanotubes

Download or read book Supramolecular Chemistry of Fullerenes and Carbon Nanotubes written by Nazario Martin and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2012-09-21 with total page 421 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Collating our current knowledge and the latest developments for enabling breakthrough discoveries, this book focuses on the synthesis and applications of materials that are based on supramolecular assemblies of carbon nanostructures, with an emphasis on fullerenes and nanotubes. In so doing, it provides readers with an overview of the different types of supramolecular architectures, accentuating the outstanding geometrical, electronic and photophysical properties of the building blocks and the resulting structures. It makes use of basic concepts and real-life applications -- from simple syntheses to complex architectures, from instructive examples to working experimental procedures, and from photophysics to solar cells. A large part of each chapter is devoted to the methods and possibilities of controlling and tuning these molecular assemblies in order to obtain working devices. Fascinating reading for materials scientists, organic chemists, molecular physicists, and those in the semiconductor industry.

Book Classical and Relativistic Mechanics

Download or read book Classical and Relativistic Mechanics written by David Agmon and published by World Scientific Publishing Company. This book was released on 2009 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides a calculus-based perspective on classical mechanics and the theory of relativity. Unlike most conventional textbooks, the discussion on theory is pared down to a minimum in favor of detailed, guided solutions of problems illustrating salient points, subtleties and principles. By working through the 900 carefully selected problems, the serious learner will hence be stimulated, challenged and enlightened. Great emphasis is placed on the pedagogical value of solving problems in a number of ways, on the careful and detailed analysis of problems, on dimensional considerations, and on basic principles underlying every topic treated. The book is aimed at first-year undergraduate students in physics and engineering. Advanced Placement students in high schools will also find this book rewarding and challenging. Instructors too will be able to recharge their batteries and refresh their reservoir of problems for recitation classes, or delve into it for their own amusement and edification.

Book Free And Interacting Quantum Fields

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Modern physics is characterized by two great theories, which make it fundamentally different from its predecessor: quantum theory and theory of relativity. In this book we want to bring to the reader's attention several solutions to problems connected to the quantum-relativistic interaction of particles. Remarkably, such solutions furnished rigorous and pertinent explanations of a large set of phenomena, both in microscopic world and galactic universe.
