It provides strength, courage, and hope. It also offers correction and edification that in our present time we would be able to stand, complete and fully equipped. Gods word keeps us ever mindful of His majesty, His sovereignty, and His incredible grace as He ever faithfully meets with, leads, and provides for His people. The book of Hebrews is such a powerful message of Gods truths and His eternal plan of redemption for a lost peopleyou and I. Not only are we blessed with amazing understanding as we delve into such wonderful questions such as: Who are angels? By what order was Jesus called High Priest? What is the difference between the priestly order under the law verses Melchizedek? What six elementary principles does the author have us address and why? And can you lose your salvation? There is so much to learn from Hebrews, and I assure you I could not begin to touch a fraction of it. Yet my prayer, my hope, is that after you have turned these pages, you too will be assured of Gods beautiful promise, His unfailing love, and His perfect plan for us, His children.

Book Romans Walking in the Transforming Power of the Gospel Message

Download or read book Romans Walking in the Transforming Power of the Gospel Message written by Norma Blackmon and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2018-08-14 with total page 141 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Bible Study through Romans Oh the depth of this letter to the Roman believers by the apostle Paul, where we, each one of us can see ourselves, maybe even our old selves revealed, and the Way, the Truth, and Gods transforming power that has and continues to save and change us. Yes all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Why? Because we have, each and every one, inherited a (the) sin nature, disobedience, from the fall, from the one man. And because of this we all, again, were enemies of God, afar off and at enmity. Yet in His great love for us we learn that even while we were His enemies, God gave His only Son to die on a cross that we might have our sins forgiven; if we believe. Now we have a new nature, a new man, alongside the old, that can grow in grace and strength and cause the old nature to be buried. At least as much as is possible in these mortal and fleshly bodies: and as much as we are willing to yield to the Spirits leading, and obey. Who are those who are without excuse? Who are those who are inexcusable? Is there any hope for those who God has given over? I think maybe. Who are the branches, and who does the wild olive tree refer to? What was the hoped outcome in provoking the Jews to jealousy? We read of works versus grace; of the war between the mind and the Spirit, and that even when we are unfaithful, God is faithful; He cannot deny Himself. Wow! Just pause for a moment and absorb that. What an amazing God we serve! What a beautiful, strong, encouraging, convicting, challenging and promise filled letter Paul has written. Yes, I understand that I have scarcely touched the surface. Still my prayer is for even a fraction of Gods message, His power, love and teaching will come through this study. I confess that I know so little, but He is so big! Please Father might all who work through these pages see You, and embrace all that You in Christ Jesus have done for us. May You be lifted up and praised and adored for You. In the power of Jesus name I pray and thank You for this privilege. Amen.

Book Before the Throne of Grace

Download or read book Before the Throne of Grace written by E. Allen Griffith and published by . This book was released on 2009-03-01 with total page 224 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: No greater privilege has been proffered mankind than the solemn opportunity to step personally into the Throne room of Heaven to address the God of the universe in personal conversation. It is utterly amazing that such a privilege has been ignored, abused, misused and misunderstood by so many. The divine invitation is clearly expressed in scripture. We are invited to speak as a child to the Father. Entrance to God's presence is available through the mediation of the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. To aid us in coveying our burden to the Father, the Holy Spirit readily intercedes on our behalf. The time of prayer is not to be taken lightly, but because of entrance to prayer in Jesus' name we are encouraged to come with boldness and confidence. Thankfully in this age, God's throne is portrayed as a throne of grace and we can come before Him at any time with the certainty of His love, compassion, interest and understanding as He receives our praises and petitions. Too many have by-passed biblical instruction on prayer and thereby missed the intended blessings that await the humble saint who comes--Before the Throne of Grace. "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need." Hebrews 4:16

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Pastor John MacArthur will take you through the book of Hebrews, passage by passage, so that you can better understand the author's message, the cultural context, and the perfect sufficiency of Christ. The early Jewish believers had come from a background of legalism and works. When God came to earth in human flesh as the New Covenant, these believers discovered the freedom they could have in Jesus and the relationship they could enjoy with Him. Yet in the midst of persecution and rejection, they were often tempted to hold on to the former symbols, rituals, and traditions grounded in the requirements of the Old Covenant. The unknown author of Hebrews sought to address this problem by contrasting the Old and New Covenants, brilliantly showing that Christ is higher than any Old Testament character, priest, ritual, or sacrifice. Because of Jesus' life, death, and resurrection, He is the perfect sacrifice and our own High Priest. And He has given all believers unfettered access to God! —ABOUT THE SERIES— The MacArthur Bible Study series is designed to help you study the Word of God with guidance from widely respected pastor and author John MacArthur. Each guide provides intriguing examinations of the whole of Scripture by examining its parts and incorporates: Extensive, but straight-forward commentary on the text. Detailed observations on overriding themes, timelines, history, and context. Word and phrase studies to help you unlock the broader meaning and apply it to your life. Probing, interactive questions with plenty of space to write down your response and thoughts.

Download or read book Jesus the Bridegroom written by Phillip J. Long and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2013-11-06 with total page 456 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Did Jesus claim to be the "bridegroom"? If so, what did he mean by this claim? When Jesus says that the wedding guests should not fast "while the bridegroom is with them" (Mark 2:19), he is claiming to be a bridegroom by intentionally alluding to a rich tradition from the Hebrew Bible. By eating and drinking with "tax collectors and other sinners," Jesus was inviting people to join him in celebrating the eschatological banquet. While there is no single text in the Hebrew Bible or the literature of the Second Temple Period which states the "messiah is like a bridegroom," the elements for such a claim are present in several texts in Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Hosea. By claiming that his ministry was an ongoing wedding celebration he signaled the end of the Exile and the restoration of Israel to her position as the Lord's beloved wife. This book argues that Jesus combined the tradition of an eschatological banquet with a marriage metaphor in order to describe the end of the Exile as a wedding banquet.

Book A Glorious High Throne

Download or read book A Glorious High Throne written by E. H. Andrews and published by EP BOOKS. This book was released on 2003-01-01 with total page 542 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Other than Revelation, Hebrews is the most difficult New Testament book to understand clearly. It has often been said that in order to do so the reader must have a pretty thorough knowledge of the Old Testament, and especially of Leviticus. This probably rules out a disheartening percentage of today's Christians--hence the need for books such as this one. Professor Andrews has tackled the task of unravelling the twists and turns of Hebrews with obvious enthusiasm and equally obvious integrity. None of the 'problem passages' are ignored, and none of the text is glossed over, while careful scholarship is made accessible by the use of apt illustrations. Best of all, every page is full of Christ and 'the grace of God that brings salvation' (Titus 2:11).
