Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the most accessible work in English on the greatest mystical poet of Islam, providing a survey of the basic Sufi and Islamic doctrines concerning God and the world, the role of man in the cosmos, the need for religion, man's ultimate becoming, the states and stations of the mystical ascent to God, and the means whereby literature employs symbols to express "unseen" realities. William Chittick translates into English for the first time certain aspects of Rumi's work. He selects and rearranges Rumi's poetry and prose in order to leave aside unnecessary complications characteristic of other English translations and to present Rumi's ideas in an orderly fashion, yet in his own words. Thorough, nontechnical introductions to each chapter, and selections that gradually present a greater variety of terms and images, make this work easily accessible to those interested in the spirituality of any tradition.

Download or read book Power of Gentleness written by Anne Dufourmantelle and published by Fordham Univ Press. This book was released on 2018-03-06 with total page 152 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Gentleness is an enigma. Taken up in a double movement of welcoming and giving, it appears on the threshold of passages signed off by birth and death. Because it has its degrees of intensity, because it is a symbolic force, and because it has a transformative ability over things and beings, it is a power. The simplicity of gentleness is misleading. It is an active passivity that may become an extraordinary force of symbolic resistance and, as such, become central to both ethics and politics. Gentleness is a force of secret life-giving transformation linked to what the ancients called potentiality. In our day, gentleness is sold to us under its related form of diluted mawkishness. By infantilizing it our era denies it. This is how we try to overcome the high demands of its subtlety—no longer by fighting it, but by enfeebling it. Language itself is therefore perverted: what our society intends to give the human beings that it crushes “gently,” it does in the name of the highest values: happiness, truth, security. From listening to those who come to me and confide their despair, I have heard it expressed in every lived experience. I have felt its force of resistance and its intangible magic. In mediating its relation to the world, it appears that its intelligence carries life, saves and amplifies it.

Book Womb of Wisdom

Download or read book Womb of Wisdom written by Glennie P. Metz and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2014-06-10 with total page 243 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Not only is the physiologic womb a womans feminine core; it is the gateway from where we all come from, and to which we all return. The author reveals that the womb from which Lillimae was born was not just an outlet; but an entry into a place of creative potential and well-being. On July 9, 1960 she married Gerald, her teenage soul virgin, and delayed celebrating Gods design for their marriage bed for a short while. Over time they gave birth to special projects, personal healing and relating to each other in their collective womb. It was not until a diabolical influence in her life, followed by a supernatural encounter with the Un-Moveable Mover did she appreciate just how wonderfully and marvelous she is made, and the power of the Giver of life. Her delivery did not require the assistance of human hands to prevent a premature birth into a different kind of womb-an eternal one. Lillimae submitting herself to a greater power than she had ever known allows her to embrace and trust her feminine creativity, balance and deepest relationships. As she matures in her positive family dynamics, workplace and church affiliations she receives and advances a fuller understanding of the beautiful and abundant life God has woven into the fibers of her and Geralds rules for living in their womb. Womb of Wisdom brings to you the reader an awareness that the Un-moveable Mover who came into the world through a virgin womb, and will come again the second time, not as a baby to rescue His human creation by visible and invisible means.

  • Publisher : WestBow Press
  • Release : 2019-01-31
  • ISBN : 1973652013

Download or read book Golden Drops of Comfort written by James A. Rousseau Jr. and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2019-01-31 with total page 200 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An invasion of supernatural “other worldly” beings has exploded into this world with one purpose in mind. They have come to be used by God, Jesus Christ, to be a blessing to the inhabitants of a world that seems to be bent on bringing about its own destruction. They are so consumed and filled to overflowing with golden drops of the comfort of who they are that they are willing to sacrifice their own lives out of a love for us in order that we may see the love that Jesus Christ has for us. The question is, do we have eyes to see these “other worldly” beings who are all around us everyday? Maybe if we will look through the eye-gate of our heart we may see them more clearly. There is enduring “Kindness” looking for ways to pour out the golden drops of comfort of who she is upon us to help us in our time of need. There is the unending stamina of beautiful “Joy” bringing the golden drops of who she is and pouring this joy upon us in our time of need. Then we find the strength of “Gentleness” sharing her gentle touch of love upon a cold, hard, and cruel world. As these “other worldly” beings shower their golden drops of comfort upon us how will we receive them? Will we embrace them and allow them to introduce us to Jesus Christ, or will we seek to crucify them and have nothing to do with them? The choice is ours!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A bold affirmation that we are sentient before conception and in the womb, The Secret Life of Babies reveals author Mia Kalef's groundbreaking findings: babies are able to remember their earliest experiences, this consciousness precedes the physical development of the brain itself, and medical interventions during birth—like forceps and Cesareans—can imprint our relationships with the world and disconnect us from our sustainable place in the ecosystem. Kalef provides a six-step protocol for detecting these individual imprints and taking reparative steps for physiological and emotional balance and release. This book offers us an articulate guide to a transformation that can restore our essential nature.
