Download or read book Urbanization Commuting and Regional Labor Markets written by Peter Haller and published by wbv Media GmbH & Company KG. This book was released on 2018-04-10 with total page 129 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Spatial Dependence and Heterogeneity in Empirical Analyses of Regional Labour Market Dynamics

Download or read book Spatial Dependence and Heterogeneity in Empirical Analyses of Regional Labour Market Dynamics written by Norbert Schanne and published by wbv Media GmbH & Company KG. This book was released on 2015-06-23 with total page 209 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Regional Marketing and the Strategic Market Planning Approach to Attract Business and Industry Case Study

Download or read book Regional Marketing and the Strategic Market Planning Approach to Attract Business and Industry Case Study written by Franz Kero and published by diplom.de. This book was released on 2002-12-09 with total page 93 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Inhaltsangabe:Abstract: This thesis describes and evaluates how regional marketing, based on the ideas of Philip Kotler s Marketing Places (1993), can be a reasonable tool to attract business locators into economic regions. The thesis concentrates on strategic market planning of local economic development programs. It is presented how to make use of local competitive advantages by useful bundling of incentives. The notion of marketing and governing places is combined and shall offer the reader a new perspective of meeting regional economic objectives for places. This thesis is divided into two parts: a theoretical part (where industrial incentives are presented and Kotler s concept is explained and criticized) and an empirical part (where regional marketing is applied and tested for effectiveness). First, it will be defined what regional marketing is and what forms of incentives are considered. Then it will be presented how marketing strategies can be organized in a local environment, followed by a discussion how companies make location decisions. In the last chapter of the first part, a critical discussion of the regional marketing approach is presented. In the second part, an emphasis will be put on the case study; a location (Orange County, California, USA) where economic development based on marketing planning came to work. With a view to the situation and implications analyzed in the case study, it will be tried to scrutinize effectiveness and usefulness of economic development programs based on regional marketing principles for this place in question and in general. Book Local Markets and Regional Trade in Medieval Exeter

Download or read book Local Markets and Regional Trade in Medieval Exeter written by Maryanne Kowaleski and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 1995-05-25 with total page 414 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book examines the vital role of market towns in the medieval economy. It focuses on Exeter, and on how it served as an important link in a marketing chain that connected local, regional, and overseas trade.Although small by most standards (the population stood at around 3100 in 1377), Exeter was the largest town in south-western England and had long played a central role in the marketing hierarchy of the region. Its functions can be illustrated through prosopographical analysis, a methodology which creates 'collective biographies' of specific groups of traders, thereby revealing the identity--status, occupation, residence--of buyers and sellers, the goods they exchanged, where they traded, and how they marketed their goods. Such an approach also helps to characterize the town's regional networks of trade and hinterland.

Book Asean Economic Integration Trade Foreign Direct Investment And Finance

Download or read book Asean Economic Integration Trade Foreign Direct Investment And Finance written by Michael G Plummer and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2009-07-17 with total page 354 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Given the rapid emergence of regional economic arrangements in Asia, especially in Southeast Asia, it is useful to understand clearly what regionalism implies for the region, as well as to take stock as to the far-reaching and complicated effects of formal economic cooperation and integration. This book allows the reader to better understand the relevant international policies of the Southeast Asian economies, and to appreciate the potential lessons for other developing regions. It also focuses on the regionalism trend with an explicit application to ASEAN, as well as the implications of regionalism in the developed countries. The goal of this book is to survey the economics and political economy of regionalism in the ASEAN context from a variety of perspectives and using various techniques, from standard economic analysis of preferential trading arrangements to the political economy analysis of institutions. Its approach is comprehensive in that it includes ASEAN economic integration in the areas of trade, foreign direct investment, and finance. Presentation of the material is designed to be accessible to non-technical audiences without sacrificing the rigor expected by economists and other experts.
