Download or read book From God s Perspective I Want to Be a Loser written by Pedro Torres and published by Palibrio. This book was released on 2012-06-19 with total page 129 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In a time of transition, the Lord raises voices thjat can be heard with a different appreciation. And one of those voices is Pastor Torres, who with great clarity and with simple but profound language traces for us a spiritual route to be a Winner from Gods perspective; our apparent failures dont matter, nor is there interest in the thermometers the world uses to measure success. The message is: think like Christ, walk with Christ and live in Christ. Pastor and Theologian Eduardo Fuentes In this book, my friend Pedro Torres delights us with the thought that in Gods economy to lose is to win. What a great paradox! The world would like to win, but God indicates in the Bible that if we want to win, first we must lose. In other words, the true winner is the person who becomes a loser. I believe that every reader must read, memorize and share the concept of this book.

Book From God s Perspective I Want to be a Loser

Download or read book From God s Perspective I Want to be a Loser written by Pedro Torres Pereira and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2021-09-28 with total page 154 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: My first memory of Pedro Torres was when I heard him teaching about the book of Revelation in the adult class at Tabernacle of Life Church in Houston, TX. I remember that I was only about thirteen years old and was puzzled to hear so much biblical knowledge coming out of this human being. Two decades have passed since that first meeting, and I am still stunned to hear his teachings. For unknown reasons, I thought that the book would not have the same impact as hearing his ministry "in live"; but let me assure you that this book did not disappoint me. In this book, my friend, Pedro Torres, delights us with the thought that in God's strategic plan, losing is winning. What a great paradox! The world would like to win, but God indicates in his Word that if we want to win, we must lose first. In other words, the real winner is the person who becomes a "loser". I believe that every reader should memorize and share the concept of this book in order to deal with the problems of two specific groups: Christian youth and unsaved youth. The first group, Christian youth, tend to lose confidence and security in their lifestyle when they are called "losers" because of their Christian beliefs. This book will help you regain your confidence by reminding you that the opinion that counts is not the world's but God's. The second group, the unconverted, needs to hear this message of denial. The concept of God is one of extended gratification. Jesus said: "Because whoever wants to save his life will lose it; and everyone who loses his life for the sake of me, and the Gospel will save it". Finally, I ask God to help us better understand the concepts in this book so that we can confidently announce to our generation that we are "losers," but we are not lost. God bless you and enjoy the book. Loammi Diaz International Evangelist Houston Texas

Book The Ripple Effect

    Book Details:
  • Author : Bob Wilson
  • Publisher : Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.
  • Release : 2018-03-20
  • ISBN : 164140339X
  • Pages : 243 pages

Download or read book The Ripple Effect written by Bob Wilson and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2018-03-20 with total page 243 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: My grandchildren and I were standing at the edge of a still lake feeding the ducks, when my granddaughter picked up a pebble and tossed it into the lake. The pebble quickly sank to the bottom of the lake, but the effect of the pebble created many ripples. They keep spreading and spreading from the center and there was no way to stop them. The Ripple Effect is based on the concept that we are connected. We can and do affect each other. The result is a building of community that will affect how we treat others and the way we live our lives. All of us have passion for something as well as a vision and hope to use our gifts and talents for a greater purpose. The Ripple Effect was originally written as a textbook for a character class curriculum using an athletic medium designed to change the culture of sport that provided collegiate student athletes with application model for character-driven athletics. Today, it has become a resource that provides a guide that can apply to anyone who has an interest in desiring to pursue competitive excellence that emulates Christ. We live in a culture today that promotes comfort, not challenges. We want instant gratification free from consequences of our choices. Our choices and actions represent who we are; what we believe and define our character. The ripple effect provides a foundation for a person to better understand who they can become. The most important relationship a person will ever have is with themselves. The question is, are we doing the best they can to become more than they have become. Each ripple has a message, which is the pebble, a theme, which is the ripple effect, and an application that provides the action necessary to develop and improve character. To reach significance in the athletic arena as well as life one needs to be able to embrace competition, establish quality relationships, and develop values, "rules of the road" that become the lifestyle. What happens when we experience the ripple effect? We become a person with a Christ-like perspective with a renewed purpose, a new sense of direction, and enhanced relationships.

Book Alternative Concepts of God

Download or read book Alternative Concepts of God written by Andrei Buckareff and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2016-01-21 with total page 310 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The concept of God according to traditional Judeo-Christian-Islamic theism minimally includes the following theses: (i) There is one God; (ii) God is an omniscient, omnipotent, and morally perfect agent; (iii) God is the creator ex nihilo of the universe and the sustainer of all that exists; and (iv) God is an immaterial substance that is ontologically distinct from the universe. Proponents of alternative concepts of God, such as pantheism, panentheism, religious anti-realism, developmental theism, and religious naturalism, exclude at least one of these claims. A number of prominent philosophers and scientists have expressed sympathy with alternative concepts of the divine. However, voices raised in defense of these concepts tend not to be taken seriously in contemporary analytic philosophy of religion. This volume aims to shed light on alternative concepts of God and to thoroughly consider their merits and demerits. The contributors are leading analytic philosophers of religion, including critics of these views as well as sympathizers. This is the first contemporary edited collection featuring the work of analytic philosophers of religion covering such a wide range of alternative concepts of God.
