Book excerpt: The book comprise twenty chapters that encompass direct words from God, open visions and deep revelation into the will, plan, origin and the destiny of humanity. My original intention was to use audio video format to dramatize the stories and scenes of my encounters. Nonetheless, at the urgency of the Spirit’s behest, I write expediently. Chapters herein, answer mystical questions of Christians, believers and seekers of the truth, while bearing due veneration to the only wise God, the Creator; to further ascertain truths: of redemption, the City of Heavens, the realism and damnation of hell with the Lake of Fire.

Allison Sekemoto has done the unthinkable: died so that she might continue to live. Cast out of Eden and separated from the boy she dared to love, Allie will follow the call of blood to save her creator, Kanin, from a psychotic vampire. But there's a new plague on the rise, a strain of the Red Lung virus that wiped out most of humanity generations ago – and this strain is deadly to humans and vampires alike. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An impressively learned and beautifully illustrated review of medieval ideas about Paradise Did Adam and Eve need to eat in Eden in order to live? If so, did human beings urinate and defecate in paradise? And since people had no need for clothing, transportation, or food, what purpose did animals serve? Would carnivorous animals have preyed on other creatures? These were but a few of the questions that plagued medieval scholars for whom the idea of Eden proved an endless source of contemplation. As theologians attempted to reconcile their own experiences with the realities of the prelapsarian paradise, they crafted complex answers that included explanations of God's interaction with creation, the existence of death, and man's dominion over nature. In From Eden to Eternity, Alastair Minnis examines accounts of the origins of the human body and soul to illustrate the ways in which the schoolmen thought their way back to Eden to discover fundamental truths about humanity. He demonstrates how theologians sought certainty in matters of orthodox Christian thought and also engaged in speculation about matters that, they freely admitted, were not susceptible to firm proof. Moreover, From Eden to Eternity argues that the preoccupation with paradise belonged not only to the schools but to society as a whole, and it traces how lay writers and artists also attempted to interpret the origins of human society. Eden transcended human understanding, yet it afforded an extraordinary amount of creative space to late medieval theologians, painters, and poets as they tried to understand the place that God had deemed worthy of the creature made in His image.

Book Vestige of Eden Image of Eternity

Download or read book Vestige of Eden Image of Eternity written by Daniel Toma and published by . This book was released on 2019 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Vestige of Eden, Image of Eternity: Common Experience, the Hierarchy of Being, and Modern Science proffers a Catholic worldview of creation and the universe and shows that it is reasonable in the light of the best of 0human experience, both modern and pre-modern. The Catholic worldview maintains that the Liturgy of the Church - the image of eternity - is the?blueprint? for material and immaterial reality. This liturgical structure is manifested in the natural world through the hierarchy of being - the vestige of Eden - evident to human knowledge, and as such provides a framework that easily subsumes and makes sense of the data of modern scholarship and science. It also leaves them open to understanding in the light of realties beyond matter. Proposing a novel framework for understanding reality to modern ears, yet old in the history of human thought, 0Vestigeof Eden will be of interest to general readers and college students, while proving profitable for the academic as well.

Download or read book Gnostic Apocalypse written by Cyril O'Regan and published by State University of New York Press. This book was released on 2012-02-01 with total page 311 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Jacob Boehme, the seventeenth-century German speculative mystic, influenced the philosophers Hegel and Schelling and both English and German Romantics alike with his visionary thought. Gnostic Apocalypse focuses on the way Boehme's thought repeats and surpasses post-reformation Lutheran thinking, deploys and subverts the commitments of medieval mysticism, realizes the speculative thrust of Renaissance alchemy, is open to esoteric discourses such as the Kabbalah, and articulates a dynamic metaphysics. This book critically assesses the striking claim made in the nineteenth century that Boehme's visionary discourse represents within the confines of specifically Protestant thought nothing less than the return of ancient Gnosis. Although the grounds adduced on behalf of the "Gnostic return" claim in the nineteenth century are dismissed as questionable, O'Regan shows that the fundamental intuition is correct. Boehme's visionary discourse does represent a return of Gnosticism in the modern period, and in this lies its fundamental claim to our contemporary philosophical, theological, and literary attention.

Book excerpt: This medley of poetry comes from the heart and a lifetime of observation and that, among other things, is what the world is all about, I suppose, don't you? But then, shouldn't it be? Watching and wondering what life holds in store for each of us can be at best, a guessing game, but maybe we hold more of the keys to the final outcome than we can even imagine. With some new ways to look at the possibilities we could conceive a fresh sort of regeneration of humanity that will refurbish what we as a society need. Could this lead us in the right direction? Should we seek provocative new and innovative ideas to cope with the future? I think so. I hope you enjoy some of these thoughts, and if you do, please feel free to share them with friends and relatives if you would like to, whether our futures hold happiness or sad times, success or failure, love, peace, war, and even life-and-death situations, with the proper mind-set and preparation, we should be able to take in stride all that life has to offer. I hope these plain and simple verses will amuse, entertain, console, and even evoke new thoughts within you and challenge you to make the very best in life for yourself and everyone you encounter along the way.

Book excerpt: Why do the gospels represent the good news as being about the "kingdom of God"? What is this kingdom, and how does it relate to us today? This book traces the surprising biblical narrative of kingdom, from Genesis 1 to Revelation 22. It starts by showing that John 3:16 is actually about God transforming Adam's ruined kingdom into his own eternal one. It then goes back to Genesis to explain the origin of this kingdom, demonstrating that the image of God in Adam is actually representative rulership and sonship. From there, it traces the history of this kingdom through the Fall in Eden to the disinheritance at Babel-all the way to the occupation by Satan's forces by the time of Jesus. This then sets up a comparison between the way that the New Testament preaches the gospel, and the way modern evangelicals do. The conclusion is that the gospel of the New Testament is fundamentally the message of the triumph of Jesus as king of the cosmos-and the call to submit to, and receive the benefits of, his rulership. The final part of the book unpacks some critical implications of this. It argues that the Great Commission is a directive to conquer the lands ruled by Satan, in the name of the now-reigning King, Jesus. This directive consciously mimics the dominion mandate given to Adam, and should be seen as God's end-game in retaking the whole earth as his kingdom-a plan that will succeed through "the power of God for salvation" by the time Jesus returns.
