Ailsa Craig Ailsa Craig is blessed to have experienced much love and adventure in her lifetime. The tapestry of emotions created over the years from those experiences is the platform for her first collection of poems and prose. While leading others on a lyrical journey through her heart, Ailsa Craig weaves natures blessings with real-life experiences while exploring the intricacies of a silent conversation, a slide show of memories, the flames of delight as two lovers sit by the fire, the hope that comes with a new day, a photo that retells the past, a cool breeze that reminds us that we are never alone, and lifes steps that prove our dreams never age.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A question was asked in my dream sometime in January 2014, but blessings of his word that I might share it came in the morning hours that led up to making new changes once again. Amen! As one hand reaches out to close the doors of inequity and despair, the other hand (right hand) of fellowship is extended to grasp a sincere understanding of joy, knowing the desires of your dreams are at hand. As I looked at life and sat in counsel, breathing new levels of hope and deliverance, I found joy in the works that were allotted in this gift of writing. My hopes and dreams is that this book would reach out to touch the lives of many with the understanding that if you give up on your dreams, restoration is not an option leading to a more profitable journey. I have lived every aspect of the words that I write, whether it was on a personal level or vicariously through the struggle of others. This is meant to bring hope to a wide audience and not just focus on one group. My message is one that is simple but of epic proportions when I speak love and encouragement. First learn to love yourself before you can share that love with others. Never settle in contentment when there are other aspirations to bring joy, understanding you are not in this struggle alone.
Download or read book Joy From Deep Within written by Hemant Gupta and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2010-12-20 with total page 193 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What do we all humans have in common? We are all incorrigible seekers of bliss or joy. Our minds are wired to be happy. At least that is what our modern scientific studies contend. Yet most of us know we are not joyful. In fact, we struggle most of time to be and stay happy. What has gone wrong? I have attempted to answer this question in this book. It has been my own journey to arrive at lasting happiness and joy. It builds on the informational, computational foundation of our universe developed in the first book of this series, Road to Digital Divine. It combines latest science of mind and matter with spirituality, putting forth a new concept of our self, the quantum self rooted in the informational nature of our being. Most of us are familiar with our physical self that we see in the mirror. It, however, does not define us completely. What is critical for us to know is our informational self. Knowing the true nature of this self and acting accordingly is essential for us humans to achieve good emotional health and realize lasting joy in our lives. In fact, not knowing or ignoring the messages from this essential nature of our self is the leading reason for suffering in our human society. I paint this self as a tale of three minds: emotional, rational, and cosmic. The three minds computationally synchronized lead to the birth of informational self. This self is a computationally astute structure. It computes using two modes of computation. Each of these modes lead to two extreme personalities. One, binary computation, which leads to a nature of self that courts “I, me, and mine” tendencies. I have called this as our binary self. And the other, quantum computation, which leads to a nature of self with “us, we, and ours” tendencies. I call this as our quantum self. Both these nature of self are quite familiar in today’s society. The binary information processing leads to egoic entity, which is present in most of us. It dominates today’s human society. It is responsible for incredible progress that humans have made as a surviving species, but it is also responsible for most of the sufferings that modern humans face today. The quantum self has saintlike nature. It feels love, empathy, and oneness with others. It is truthful and always stays in the company of divinity. It is responsible for widespread altruism in nature and in humans. With two selves of very different nature in one body, modern humans have learned the meaning of the word “suffering.” Which self will win? Which is our true self? Understanding of this fact is not trivial. In fact, it is nothing short of enlightenment as I explain how the understanding of our true self can lead one on to this path. It can make a profound change in one’s perspective. The joy pouring from deep within is at the root of this reality.

Download or read book Optical Microendoscopy for Imaging Cells Lying Deep Within Live Tissue written by Robert Juson Barretto and published by Stanford University. This book was released on 2010 with total page 149 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Optical microendoscopy is an emerging modality for imaging in live subjects. Using gradient refractive index (GRIN) microlenses, microendoscopy enables subcellular-resolution imaging in deep tissues that are inaccessible by traditional imaging techniques. We present a platform of methods and technologies that build upon GRIN microendoscopy: 1) miniaturized microscopes for imaging in awake, behaving animals, 2) methods for imaging contractile dynamics in the muscles of animal and human subjects, 3) chronic brain preparations that allow for longitudinal examinations of subcellular neuronal features and disease progression, and 4) novel microendoscope probes whose imaging capabilities approach that of standard water-immersion microscope objectives. When combined with the broad sets of available fluorescent reporters, and minimally invasive surgical preparations, the work described in this dissertation enables sophisticated experimental designs for probing how cellular char- acteristics may underlie or explain behavior, in models of both healthy and diseased states.

Book excerpt: "Poetic language, attractive illustrations and a positive message about Islam, without any didacticism: a wonderful combination," declares Kirkus Reviews in a starred review. Lalla lives in the Muslim country of Mauritania, and more than anything, she wants to wear a malafa, the colorful cloth Mauritanian women, like her mama and big sister, wear to cover their heads and clothes in public. But it is not until Lalla realizes that a malafa is not just worn to show a woman's beauty and mystery or to honor tradition—a malafa for faith—that Lalla's mother agrees to slip a long cloth as blue as the ink in the Koran over Lalla's head, under her arm, and round and round her body. Then together, they pray. An author's note and glossary are included in the back of the book.

The earlier phase, the mass shootings of Jewish people in or near their villages, has drawn less attention, even though it accounted for a third of the six million who were murdered. Two Hands Full of Sunshine a meticulously researched novel that was two decades in the writing, attempts to tell the story of those living in the destroyed shtetls. Here we meet, in the shtetl of Canaan, the rabbi and his three daughters, Katerina, Debbie, and Mittie, as Volume 1 opens in the week before Passover of 1942. It is market Day and also the wedding day of Katerina to the love of her life, and the people are thrilled. When they learn that a Nazi killing squad is poised outside the shtetl, they bravely go on with their lives, and the Nazis, led by SS-HauptsturmfuhrerKlaus Diethright, launch their attack during the wedding. Klaus is a self-described genius who is wavering over his duties in killing people. He is haunted by a love affair with Jewish girl and, upon seeing beautiful Katerina, is so smitten he tries to save her. Download or read book In Deep The FBI the CIA and the Truth about America s Deep State written by David Rohde and published by W. W. Norton & Company. This book was released on 2020-04-21 with total page 352 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Revised and updated "One of today’s most respected journalists, David Rohde takes on one of the country’s most toxic conspiracy theories," presenting a "scrupulously reported and even-handed" account of how power and intelligence are exploited in Washington that “goes deep indeed inside America’s security state, telling a story that will surprise readers of all political persuasions” (Jane Mayer, author of Dark Money). Donald Trump blamed his 2020 defeat on Democrats and the “deep state”—a supposed secret cabal of Washington insiders that relentlessly encroaches on the individual rights of Americans—for stealing the election and undermining his presidency. Most Americans who supported him agreed. Americans on the left increasingly fear the “military-industrial complex,” a faction of generals and defense contractors who they believe routinely push the country into endless wars. But does the American “deep state” really exist? This question is fundamental to preserving the legitimacy of American democracy, as frustration with and distrust for the government continue to grow. In Deep seeks to dispel these pernicious myths through an examination of the FBI, CIA, and Justice Department scandals of the past fifty years from the Church Committee’s exposure of Cold War abuses to the claims and counterclaims of the Trump era and the relentless spread of conspiracy theories online and on air. It exposes the misconduct of Attorney General William Barr; how distrust of the “deep state” undermined the US government response to the COVID-19 pandemic; and the growing discord sowed by the explosion of false information online. It investigates Trump’s quest to discredit government experts, the legislative and judicial branches, and the results of the 2020 election and assume authoritarian power for himself. “The idea of the deep state, Rohde writes, is inextricably linked to a particular view of presidential power” (Dina Temple-Raston, Washington Post). Based on dozens of interviews with career CIA operatives and FBI agents, “In Deep is a wholly satisfying read and a necessary one for anyone wanting to understand the forces at play in our government today” (Andrea Bernstein, Peabody Award–winning cohost of the Trump, Inc. podcast and author of American Oligarchs).
