Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nelson Graham was normally a man of great control. He had faced danger many times and had coolly and calmly met the situation head on. His six-foot muscular frame had been able to deal with the most desperate of circumstances and emerge the victor. But when Nelson found a sixteen year old friend dead in a stream behind his home his momentary confusion clouded his judgment. Though the sheriff ruled it an accident Nelson soon believed his friend was murdered. The events in the next few days opened his lonely life to love, danger, and a suffocating death. Could he calmly meet the most life-threatening situation he had ever faced and bring a murderer to justice? Or would he lose his life and the most precious love he had ever known? About the Author James and Kathryn Duncan have served as parents, foster parents, shepherds of churches, missionaries, and in the Navy. Beginning with a summer missionary tour during college, James has been involved in short-term missions ever since. He made two visits to Iraq, finding Christians there resembling Christians of the first century. James and Kathryn were on a team invited by the government of China to visit and preach in the churches of Beijing China. In September of 2009 James went with a team to the Republic of Georgia. In Tbilisi and Gori, the birth city of Stalin, they shared with children in orphanages. Gori, the extreme cold region of Georgia, had orphanages in the greatest need. James authors newspaper columns, articles, and Bible study materials published by Sunday School houses. An event occurred a few years ago that birthed an idea for this book of fiction, In The Morning At Sunrise.

Book excerpt: Julia Broeder is only six months shy of graduating from the Women's Medical College of Pennsylvania when one small decision spirals out of control and results in her expulsion. Hoping to travel the world as a missionary doctor, her only choice is to return back home . . . or throw herself upon the mercy of Ashton Carlyle. Formal and straight-laced, Ashton is not pleased to see an expelled Julia arrive at his Manhattan office. His position as an attorney for the Vandermark family's world-famous shipping empire entails taking care of the Broeders, longtime employees of the Vandermarks. But Ashton has no intention of using his employer's resources in defense of Julia's impulsive and reckless actions. What Ashton does not expect are a scathing reprimand from none other than the Vandermark family patriarch and the bewildering resistance from Julia herself when he's forced to change his tune. At an impasse, Ashton and Julia are unprepared for the revelations that arise or the adventure that awaits them. In this novella, award-winning novelist Elizabeth Camden introduces readers to the world of the grand Hudson River Valley estate Dierenpark and the enigmatic Vandermark family. Includes an extended preview of Until the Dawn, Camden's full-length Dierenpark novel.

Book Journey to Sunrise

Download or read book Journey to Sunrise written by Tuyet Beatty-Moore and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2013 with total page 75 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As one of the many passages of faith God preordained in my life, Journey to Sunrise is a witness of conviction and gratefulness of a preacher's kid (PK) as to the grace and mercy of Christ Jesus. This is a chronological account of how Christ Jesus answered prayers from my heart and prayers prayed intellectually. I had not yet become aware of how God and Christ Jesus had been working in my life from the age of twenty-four, when I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, at which time I lost my eyesight for three months (up to the point of yet another miraculous life-altering event years later). This event caused me to stay in a constant prayerful relationship with Christ Jesus more than ever before. It caused me to build not only a stronger prayer life but also a more humbling and willfully trusting relationship with God the Father and Christ Jesus. Okay, you're probably thinking, aren't they the same? Let's see! As God tells us in His Word, there is but one God, none else. Isaiah 45:18, James 2:19, Revelations 1:8 just to reference a few of His scriptures. He is God the Father to all and over all. Alpha, the beginning, the creator of all things, and Omega, the end. God the Son, our living example, Savior, Intercessor, and Comforter. And God the Holy Spirit, our ever present help, our guide into all truth (John 16:13). Each one is distinct and equally necessary and is one as God is omnipresent in our lives at all times (Hebrew 13:5). This was a passage that was a blessing for and to me. Growing deeper into a more humbled, willful, genuine heart desiring an even greater presence of God the Father, my creator; God the Son, Christ Jesus my savior and intercessor; and God the Holy Spirit, my ever present help. It was a daily blessing God preordained for my family and friends chosen to be with me, giving me support and receiving the blessing of encouragement that He had waiting for us all during this critical season in my life. Others were blessed that Christ Jesus allowed to cross my path during that time of anointed rehabilitation of the body and mind and are being blessed even today. To God be all the glory! It is my hope that you will be encouraged by this witness and scriptures that God allowed the Holy Spirit to give me then and now.

Book A NEW DAWN

Book excerpt: This book is for anyone who has suffered rejection, abandonment, and pain; frankly, anything that has come between them and being the best person they can be. A New Dawn has been written according to what I remember and according to accounts given me by family members. And please let me make it very clear, it is not and never will be my desire to hurt or blame others for anything that has happened in my life. Blame should never be an issue in the struggles of life. However, there were things from my past that influenced certain actions that took place as I grew up. As you read my autobiography it could help you to avoid some of the same pitfalls I suffered. Not only that, but writing my life's story was extremely therapeutic as I put my feelings into words.

I declare that with neither pride nor ego. I am simply nature's most dangerous predator. On occasion, it's a very helpful quality. It helped me protect Caleb Taylor one day when he was very young. But that single, traumatic day is behind him now; wiped from his memory, or so I hope. He has finally matured into a rather striking young man, and believe me, I like what I see. I'm feeling hopeful for our future together, in fact. But an adversary from my past has returned to haunt me, and she's trying to get back at me through Caleb. That was her first...and last...mistake. I'll protect my Caleb at all costs, and I'll make her regret the day she was born. So, I suppose that I'm not just a vampire. I'm about to become someone's worst nightmare.
