Book From Bullied to Blessed

Download or read book From Bullied to Blessed written by David Besch and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2018-01-17 with total page 188 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I was a chubby kid that grew up in a Pentecostal preacher’s home. I was constantly teased, bullied, beat up, and humiliated. After almost committing suicide, I found hope. This book was written with the objective of helping readers understand that the past is over and your best days are yet to come. You cannot change the past, but there is a way to deal with your painful memories and emotions that exist deep inside the small crevasses of your heart. Isaiah 43:18–19 (NIV) says, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” You can release the past and step forward to a brighter future! Don’t let low self-esteem from a bully’s powerless words limit you any longer. You have greatness inside of you and can achieve your greatest dreams and desires. Bullied to Blessed is an invitation to each of us to choose the empowered, overcoming mind of Christ rather than a victimhood mentality in all areas of our lives. Weaving his personal journey together with faith building Scriptural Truths, Dave first personalizes the importance of intentionally keeping right thoughts and words before us then he makes the Biblical principles contained in the various aspects of his story accessible to the reader. This book will challenge you, encourage you and ultimately call you to live a richly blessed life.” —Jonathan Wiggins Senior Pastor Rez Church Loveland, Colorado

Book From the Jar of Blessings

Download or read book From the Jar of Blessings written by Shawn Wells and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2024-06-10 with total page 275 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the Jar of Blessings is a compilation of about 270 blessings and/or inspirational quotes that were sent to me by family and friends over a period of eleven years. I would write each blessing/quote on bright-colored squares of paper, fold them up, and put them in a big glass olive jar I have. For this book, I have taken each blessing and/or quote and written my thoughts about them. Some of the blessings/quotes are deeply personal while others are quite funny. This book reminds us that God sends us blessings and inspiration on a regular basis, whether it be a simple blessing such as a small act of kindness or a huge blessing such as sparing a life after what could have been a fatal accident. All too often, we are so busy that we don’t take the time to focus on the blessings all around us. Some of the blessings in this book were sent to me by adults, and others were sent by kids. For some reason, kids have an easier time recognizing blessings. One boy sent in the following blessing: “I am thankful a boy in my class spoke up and stopped someone from bullying me.” I was so blessed to know that there were students at the school who were willing to stand up for others. Bullying is such a problem in our schools, and it is so important that children and adults stand up against it. The blessings/quotes in this book deal with topics such as Alzheimer’s disease, caregiving, lack of finances, cancer, and many more. Hopefully, the blessings and/or quotes in this book will cause you to look at day-to-day life from a different perspective.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Just in time for the Apocalypse comes a new Biblical scripture from God and thirteen-time Emmy Award–winning comedy writer David Javerbaum. 3,000 years ago, King David wrote The Book of Psalms—hymns in praise of God that became famous worldwide. Now, with humanity on the verge of a self-generated catastrophe, God (with the help of another David) has decided to return, and reverse, the favor. God has collected a cornucopia of insults of the human race in the form of prose, poetry, and parody. From topics as diverse as COVID-19, Trump, racism, abortion, meth, math, and on a lighter note, the platypus, God provides a 21st-century spin on life’s many problems. And he’s not alone: his son Jesus Christ has contributed thirty sermons of his own, updating some of his Biblical teachings for the modern audience. Even the Holy Ghost stops by to make sure you don’t forget him. Anybody who’s a fan @TheTweetofGod and/or NOT a fan of the human race is sure to love The Book of Pslams.

Book Free Us from Bullying

Download or read book Free Us from Bullying written by Paul T. Coughlin and published by ACU Press. This book was released on 2018-08-14 with total page 256 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Much of what we believe about bullying isn’t true. An estimated twenty million oppressed children need our help today. A critical mission field awaiting Christians is to combat bullying and proclaim liberty to wounded children. To counter bullying, we must first understand some common misconceptions. •It is not necessarily true that bullies have low self-esteem and come from abusive homes. •It is not true that kids who aren’t bullied are indifferent to those who are. •Bullying is not a "school problem," and teachers are not the frontline defense. •Children who are bullied do not become stronger adults. Bullies cannot be stopped merely with more compassion and understanding. In fact, bullying stems from the same roots as racism, sexual harassment, and even genocide, and it requires people to combat it in similar ways that they combat other forms of oppression and injustice. We often think of combating injustice overseas, but we can combat a very real and dangerous injustice in our own neighborhoods. After more than a decade of working with tens of thousands of students, teachers, parents, and pastors, Coughlin knows that bullying represents the worst in human nature, but combating it promotes the best. Kindness and awareness—two buzzwords in today’s anti-bullying movement—will not end bullying on their own. They must be activated by courage, transforming bystanders into righteous, loving protectors of targets. When we join this mission of love and justice, we will become peacemakers who are blessed and called children of God (Matt. 5:9).

Book Please Stop Laughing at Me

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "In this timely update of the seminal classic, author and activist Jodee Blanco reveals how she simply set out to share her story-and ended up igniting a grassroots movement in the nation's schools. The first survivor of school bullying to look back on those experiences as an adult, Jodee brings you up to speed on her life and work since the book's initial release with a new chapter, all-new Letter to My Readers, and Reader's Guide. She also offers the latest information on digital and cyberbullying, the Adult Survivor of Peer Abuse, her in-school antibullying program, INJJA (It's NOT Just Joking Around!), and provides discussion questions for schools. While other children were daydreaming about dances, first kisses, and college, Jodee Blanco was trying to figure out how to go from homeroom to study hall without being taunted or spit upon as she walked through the halls. This powerful, unforgettable memoir chronicles how one child was shunned-and even physically abused-by her classmates from elementary school through high school. It is an unflinching look at what it means to be the outcast, how even the most loving parents can get it all wrong, why schools are often unable to prevent disaster, and how bullying has been misunderstood and mishandled by the mental health community"--
