Book Freedom Through Spiritual Enlightenment

Download or read book Freedom Through Spiritual Enlightenment written by William Stansmore and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2020-05-29 with total page 157 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book was inspired by my old friend and scholar, Norman Dodd, who many years ago brought to my attention the idea of a Natural Order, "an order laid down by God," as a means to bring our country back to the course first established by our nation ́s Founding Fathers, a course from which we have dangerously strayed. It is my contention that such a natural order does exist, and there will truly never be peace in the world until humanity is made aware of, understands, and ultimately conforms to that order. In light of experience two conclusions may be observed: 1) History attests to the sensitivity of men to the existence of this order. 2) That sensitivity has been intelligently nullified. It is our intention to present the nature of The Natural Order, to indicate why our sensitivity to that order has been nullified, and to demonstrate the means by which that order may restored, implemented and made universally known. This work is an attempt to re-establish the importance of absolute values in a world where such values are becoming increasingly irrelevant, and the necessity of preserving those immutable and self-evident truths upon which was established our nation ́s framework and foundation. Norman Dodd ́s dream was to establish and implement a Curriculum of The Civilizing Arts, whose purpose is to clarify and strengthen the original commitments which underlie and empower the United States Constitution and Declaration of Independence. It is my purpose to help make his dream a reality. As such it is a compilation of our shared ideas and mutual dreams. I was born in England but spent most of my life on the east coast of the United States. I am intent on protecting, preserving and implementing the hopes and aspirations of our country ́s Founding Fathers. My formal education consists of a BA from Brown University, Masters of Divinity (M.Div) from Yale University, and a Ph.D from Trinity College, Cambridge University, England.

Download or read book Boundless Awareness written by Michael A. Rodriguez and published by New Harbinger Publications. This book was released on 2018-04-01 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Suffering is part of the human experience, and everyone in the world is seeking relief. But there is something greater, something that we all share, indeed something that we all are, that can alleviate that pain: it is the formless presence—the loving, boundless awareness—at the heart of all experience. This book cuts through the esotericism surrounding spiritual awakening to help you realize your true nature and show you how to integrate that realization into everyday life. In life, there is turmoil and inevitable pain. There is war, hunger, failure, heartbreak, and trauma. We struggle in relationships and with our attachments, thoughts, feelings, and memories, trapped in the prison of psychological self-consciousness. Most of us have been conditioned to believe that we are all separate individuals to whom uncomfortable or upsetting things happen. We feel alone and isolated from the world, and convince ourselves that the beauty, truth, and goodness we long for are out of our reach. Really, it’s this imaginary division that causes us to suffer. Boundless Awareness seeks to relieve this suffering by drawing attention to the beautiful, encompassing, cohesive nature of awareness itself, as found in your direct experience. Using practical, contemplative exercises and brief meditations, the author guides you along a broad path of spiritual awakening, deconstructing your delusions of self and separation and integrating a concept of existence that is free from the suffering of individual selfhood, but which acknowledges the attachments, traumatic experiences, and emotional pain of being human. With this book, you’ll come to realize your innate perfection as the uncreated light of boundless awareness, and soften into the open, spacious, and unconditionally loving essence of existence. You’ll gain a deeper understanding of pain and attachments, and learn to meet these experiences with a new resilience. Most importantly, you’ll find guidance on how to embody and express this awakening as love, joy, service, and creativity in your daily life.

Book The Neurotic s Guide to Avoiding Enlightenment

Download or read book The Neurotic s Guide to Avoiding Enlightenment written by Chris Niebauer, Ph.D. and published by Outskirts Press. This book was released on 2014-03-10 with total page 172 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Has self-improvement really improved the self? More than ever people are on a quest for self-improvement and enlightenment. People are "watching" their egos or losing their egos in order to find peace of mind or to get along better with others. And yet, the more we try to lose our ego, the more of it there is to lose. The more we try to make peace, the more we find conflict. It is exactly what happens when we try not to think of the number 3 and that is all we can think about. Our efforts seem to have the opposite effect and this is due to the way the left side of the brain processes information. Neuroscience discovered that the left brain makes up elaborate stories and convincing explanations. It is the left brain that makes up the most elaborate and convincing story of all, the story of who you think you are. And the more we try to get out of this story, the deeper we find ourselves in it because it is the function of the left brain to work on the law of opposition. Try not to be anxious and that's exactly what happens. Try not to worry and you will be flooded with anxious thoughts. And the same is true for self-improvement. The more we try to improve our story, the more the story needs to be improved. The left brain excels at these games even when it plays by pretending not to play. If I said that all attempts at self-improvement are futile, how would you respond? Would you reflexively think I'm wrong? Is there any way not to play these games of the left brain? Which part of your brain do you think is asking this question? This book was written for the ordinary person who has an extraordinary curiosity for who they are, how thoughts work and why they cannot control their thoughts. It is a practical guide that uses examples from my kids, favorite movies and TV shows from the 80s and 90s along with simple exercises so you can see for yourself if any of this is on track. While no special knowledge of neuroscience is required, you may understand many of the examples if you've seen an episode or two of Star Trek or Seinfeld. While this work is based on the teachings of Alan Watts and Eckhart Tolle it integrates the findings of modern neuroscience which surprisingly reveals a similar message. It is the desire for enlightenment that is the biggest block to happiness and peace, in fact, it is the only block. It is not until one gives up the quest to find oneself, improve oneself or be more spiritual, that one can ever find the peace they are looking for. And it is not your ego that gives up this quest, it is you. For more info please see my blog at http://worriedbuddha.com/

Book excerpt: "What an absolutely wonderful book! Ramas Dev captures the wisdom of many spiritual traditions (at their heart they are all the same) in his wise text 'Peace and Joy Within You'. What so captivates me about this book is how the author makes spiritual wisdom so accessible and readily applicable to our lives and spiritual journey. I am honored to write this short note praising this text. It will add to the spiritual understand of those just beginning their journey and those who have been on the narrow road for quite some time." -Dr. Cardwell C. Nuckols Author of "The Ego-Less SELF" and "Finding Freedom Through Illumination" Peace and joy are the fruit of the Spirit The Spirit is always free and perfect, and we (a soul) long for that freedom and perfection in the Spirit. Words like love and freedom have quite the opposite meaning in the spiritual sense. Most of us may say that we are free with the given rights from the constitution. Yet countless souls are spiritually shackled in the darkness, and many more without being aware of it. The world has enough distractions to keep us all under its bondage. Thus the wheel of suffering continues to move, with us being its fuel. But we have to escape this cycle of spiritual blindness and suffering in order to realize the perfection of our soul in the Spirit. This book delves into the topic of God while not being "religious." In opening up our heart to the Unfathomable and Immeasurable, we let our soul be revealed from behind the thick veil of the carnal mind. The aim is to understand who we really are beyond all notions, concepts, or expectations. This book presents ten spiritual lessons which shed light on the ways of the carnal mind or the ego, and thus help us in our spiritual journey to bring about the spiritual freedom in us. Rather than pointing to the darkness we should try to realize the light that is in us. Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can not overcome it. This book includes short illustrations for the mind to grasp the concepts. Each chapter ends with a poem which is inspiring and/or related to the chapter. The main topics in this book are Accepting life as it is Being content Focusing on the positive Forgiving all Overcoming Fear Doing good no matter what Taking it easy in life Having faith Letting go Surrendering to God

Book Finding Freedom Through Illumination

Download or read book Finding Freedom Through Illumination written by Cardwell Nuckols and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2014-05-06 with total page 242 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This deeply spiritual book will guide readers on a journey toward Realization of the Christ-consciousness that exists within each of us. In Finding Freedom Through Illumination, Dr. Nuckols divides the journey into three sections, each defining a part of the process that leads to Realization—the accumulation of more Light. Dr. Nuckols explains that, as we gather more Light, our worldview changes and we see the world differently, and while our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors change, we become more intuitive and begin to understand that all of life is an opportunity for spiritual growth. Step by step Dr. Nuckols illuminates the concept that Realization (sometimes called enlightenment, satori, kensho, samadi, or moksha) is about becoming one with our Creator. Every spiritual tradition, including Alcoholics Anonymous, Hinduism, and Buddhism, gives direction for spiritual growth—all change our worldview and all have been shown to enhance levels of spiritual consciousness. Spending time in silence, solitude, prayer, contemplation, and meditation allows for intuitive change that alters our worldview causing the defects of character of the narcissistic ego to melt away. Ultimately, this is freedom, this is illumination, and this is spiritual growth.

Book Enlightenment Through Motherhood

Download or read book Enlightenment Through Motherhood written by Astra Niedra and published by Voice Dialogue in Daily Life. This book was released on 2013-12-13 with total page 92 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Motherhood is misunderstood. Since time immemorial we've believed that when women become mothers they are taking time out from real work and serious personal growth, especially spiritual development. But we've got it all wrong. While heavily pregnant with her third child, personal growth writer Astra Niedra attempted a holiday in the tropical paradise of Australia's Far North with her husband and two young daughters in tow. During this ‘holiday’ (we need another word to describe 'an extended overnight excursion with young children) she discovered that the skills and abilities mothers are required to use each day as part of their job are the same as the practices prescribed for enlightenment seekers. Join Astra on her journey of discovery and feel inspired, entertained and spiritually uplifted, all the while becoming increasingly grounded in the unshakeable truth that there is far more to being a mother and raising children than conventional wisdom would have us believe. “Absolutely brilliant! This book is just what the world needs now as our planet continues to move towards political and ecological disaster while the patriarchal systems that still dominate our thinking continue to devalue everything traditionally – and biologically – female.” "In a most perfect balance of yin and yang, of logic and feeling, of humor and gravity, Astra Niedra reclaims for all human beings – not just women – a precious element of that which is truly sacred in life." “Her simple spellbinding stories, her keen intellect, and her unfailing humour make this book a pleasure to read. Here is a new way of thinking of spirituality, of valuing our humanity while living a spirit-infused life, and a fascinating (and novel) path to enlightenment! It's a consciousness changer and I loved it." – Dr Sidra Stone, author of Embracing Our Selves, Partnering, Embracing Your Inner Critic, and The Shadow King "I enjoyed this immensely... Definitely a fun and entertaining book while sharing a bit of spiritual goodness as well." – Katie "This book put into words just what, and how, I was feeling about my own spiritual journey. Women and men have such different experiences and this book beautifully articulates them." – Amanda "A great read for all mothers, I loved this book!" – Ann Shepich “Enlightenment indeed! I hope many women have the opportunity to read Astra’s book. Being pregnant, birthing and mothering are the most important jobs on earth. Honouring these roles is important for governments and society to appreciate and elevate to a much higher status. Astra’s journey is familiar, delightfully written and inspiring.” – Susan Ross, Midwife, Birth Educator and author of Birth Right

Book excerpt: Free Spirit speaks as freedom, which is our Consciousness, the sweet essence of our lives. The freedom spoken here is an inner knowing. We cannot realize this liberation by catering to our bodies, emotions or minds. No, this freedom is spiritual; an altitude of perception that only arises when we are lighter than our surroundings. We can realize this lightness of being if we are willing to abide as Awareness and let go of the ego, the one who suffers mind. For this enlightenment to happen, a quiet mind is all we need. Why do anything for this, when only our stillness will suffice. Be silent, be still, be free. Within this book you will find answered and unanswered questions, humor, poetic prose, experimentation with consciousness and passages that illuminate the sense that we are more than our thoughts, emotions, senses, body and energy. Every word is sourced by the power of silent Truth. Without contradicting this source, the writing inspires our active participation in the realization of Spirit, as only our direct experience is of value to this awakening. For those of us who desire to be free, the author takes us by the hand and walks with us through the entire landscape of the egoic mind, until we reach its outer boundary. Here, we are invited to take a leap of Self-faith into simply being who we are right now... Free Spirit,
