Download or read book My Memoirs written by Charles Frederick Foreman and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2008-12 with total page 374 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Fred Foreman was born just before the great depression on the family farm near Blue Rapids, Kansas. His story, written for his grandchildren, starts with the difficult economic times for his family during his youth. He describes the feelings of a young lad in his late teens who was desperately needed at home to help his family and could see no independence for himself until he was drafted into the military in 1942. It was there that he gained confidence in his own abilities, and following four years of service, he took advantage of the G.I. Bill, earning B.S. and M.S. degrees from Kansas State University, and the PhD, at the University of Missouri, in just five years. He served on the faculties of Kansas State University, the University of Missouri, and the University of Minnesota before his 31 years at Iowa State University. During his career Foreman was recognized by Iowa State University, The National Dairy Shrine, The American Dairy Science Association and the University of Missouri for his student teaching, academic advising and leadership contributions to the dairy industry. During his professional career he developed skills in the physical evaluation of dairy cattle, and he describes some of his experiences in this work in 43 states and 14 foreign countries.
Download or read book I Will Send My Messenger written by C. Paul Smith and published by Archway Publishing. This book was released on 2019-04-18 with total page 299 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: No other Christian denomination makes the bold claims made by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints—that resurrected apostles of Jesus visited Joseph Smith and conferred their apostolic authority upon him; that a resurrected, ancient American prophet named Moroni visited Joseph Smith and delivered a volume of ancient scripture to him; that God the Father and his Son, Jesus Christ, appeared to Joseph Smith; and that through the prophet Joseph Smith, God has now set up His kingdom on the earth. I Will Send My Messenger presents a lucid and forthright introduction to Mormonism, relating how the rise of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the fulfillment of Malachi’s prophecy that God would send his messenger to the earth in the last days to prepare the world for the Lord’s second coming. Many of the prophets foretold of this latter-day messenger and of the great latter-day restoration that God’s messengers would bring to pass. The Lord Jesus Christ spoke of it; so did the apostles, Peter, Paul and John; so did the prophets Moses, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel and Joel. Mormonism is in full harmony with the teachings of the Bible—despite the claims of its outspoken critics—and the world is invited to learn the truth before condemning the faith. The testimony of Joseph Smith and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is that Jesus is the Savior of the world and that God speaks from heaven to give messages to humankind today—messages whose importance to all the world is unsurpassed.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: axHSLEPDy590379zv*:+:!:+:! ISBN: 978-1-4535-9037-9 (83989) Growing up in Brooklyn was not easy for me, mainly because I had no education. Was I born an alcoholic? Did I become one? I don’t know. What I do know was that it made me feel comfortable when I took the fi rst few drinks. Little did I know that eventually the bottle would take me over. I struggled for many years from alcoholism until I found the Lord. He not only freed me from the bottle, He also freed me from the pain of being in the Korean War at age seventeen and from having to endure two painful divorces. Some of the things I did in my life were not very nice; but when the bottle takes you over, it takes you where it wants to. I now know that God-through his son, Jesus can perform miracles. I only pray today that people who read this book might be freed from their past through Jesus as I have been.
