Donald L. Koch, then geologist (now Director) of the Iowa Geological Survey, shared his knowledge of the Shell Rock For mation, and Harrell Strimple (deceased) of the Uni versity of Iowa aided me in borrowing collections and providing me with locality information regarding the Frasnian faunas of north-central Iowa. Professors Wil liam Furnish, Brian Glenister and Gilbert Klapper of the University of Iowa all gave freely of their Wisdom and good will. Ms. Julia Golden of the University of Iowa has kindly arranged for loans of specimens from the Belauski Collection. Professor Donald B.
