Book Recent Developments in Anisotropic Heterogeneous Shell Theory

Download or read book Recent Developments in Anisotropic Heterogeneous Shell Theory written by Alexander Ya. Grigorenko and published by Springer. This book was released on 2015-12-30 with total page 129 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume focuses on the relevant general theory and presents some first applications, namely those based on classical shell theory. After a brief introduction, during which the history and state-of-the-art are discussed, the first chapter presents the mechanics of anisotropic heterogeneous shells, covering all relevant assumptions and the basic relations of 3D elasticity, classical and refined shell models. The second chapter examines the numerical techniques that are used, namely discrete orthogonalization, spline-collocation and Fourier series, while the third highlights applications based on classical theory, in particular, the stress-strain state of shallow shells, non-circular shells, shells of revolution, and free vibrations of conical shells. The book concludes with a summary and an outlook bridging the gap to the second volume.

Book Recent Developments in Anisotropic Heterogeneous Shell Theory

Download or read book Recent Developments in Anisotropic Heterogeneous Shell Theory written by Alexander Ya. Grigorenko and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-06-02 with total page 117 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: These two-partition books present essential approaches to numerical-analytical solutions of problems in the mechanics of shells with various structures and shapes based on refined and spatial models. Further, it examines the mechanical behavior of shallow, circular and noncircular, conical, spherical, and functionally graded shells obtained by the refined model. The book investigates the stress-strain state and free vibrations of finite-length cylinders in spatial formulation (3D elasticity theory). Further, it analyzes the influence of geometrical and mechanical parameters, of boundary conditions, and of the loading character on both the distributions of stress and displacement fields, and on the dynamical characteristics in these shells and cylinders. Lastly, it discusses in detail the validation of reliability for the results obtained by numerical calculations. As such, it complements the first part of the book, the volume Recent Developments in Anisotropic Heterogeneous Shell Theory: Applications of Refined and Three-dimensional Theory.

Book Shell Structures Theory and Applications Volume 4

Download or read book Shell Structures Theory and Applications Volume 4 written by Wojciech Pietraszkiewicz and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2017-10-30 with total page 942 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Shells are basic structural elements of modern technology and everyday life. Examples of shell structures in technology include automobile bodies, water and oil tanks, pipelines, silos, wind turbine towers, and nanotubes. Nature is full of living shells such as leaves of trees, blooming flowers, seashells, cell membranes or wings of insects. In the human body arteries, the eye shell, the diaphragm, the skin and the pericardium are all shells as well. Shell Structures: Theory and Applications, Volume 4 contains 132 contributions presented at the 11th Conference on Shell Structures: Theory and Applications (Gdansk, Poland, 11-13 October 2017). The papers reflect a wide spectrum of scientific and engineering problems from theoretical modelling through strength, stability and dynamic behaviour, numerical analyses, biomechanic applications up to engineering design of shell structures. Shell Structures: Theory and Applications, Volume 4 will be of interest to academics, researchers, designers and engineers dealing with modelling and analyses of shell structures. It may also provide supplementary reading to graduate students in Civil, Mechanical, Naval and Aerospace Engineering.

Book A Refined Theory of Anisotropic Shells

Download or read book A Refined Theory of Anisotropic Shells written by and published by . This book was released on 1972 with total page 15 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Construction of a new refined theory of anisotropic shells not involv-ing the widely held assumption that the normal displacement is inde- pendent of the coordinate of the normal to the middle surface. It is shown that, in contrast to all other refined theories of the class considered, the proposed geometrical model of shell deformation is such that all the displacement components at a given point on the shell depend nonlinearly on the above mentioned coordinate. Book Asymptotical Mechanics of Thin Walled Structures

Download or read book Asymptotical Mechanics of Thin Walled Structures written by Igor V. Andrianov and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-06-29 with total page 527 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book a detailed and systematic treatment of asymptotic methods in the theory of plates and shells is presented. The main features of the book are the basic principles of asymptotics and their applications, traditional approaches such as regular and singular perturbations, as well as new approaches such as the composite equations approach. The book introduces the reader to the field of asymptotic simplification of the problems of the theory of plates and shells and will be useful as a handbook of methods of asymptotic integration. Providing a state-of-the-art review of asymptotic applications, this book will be useful as an introduction to the field for novices as well as a reference book for specialists.

Book An Improved Theory of Anisotropic Shells

Download or read book An Improved Theory of Anisotropic Shells written by S. A. Ambartsumyan and published by . This book was released on 1972 with total page 12 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the work a new, improved theory of anisotropic shells is constructed, based on the following assumptions: (a) in determining given deformations it is considered that the given tangential stress do not differ from the given coressponding stress which are located according to classical theory; (b) deformation given and normal stress given do not differ from the given corresponding values of classical theory. As usual, the shell is related to a triorthogonal system of curvilinear coordinates given. The difference in the proposed theory, as opposed to those known before, consists of the fact that here there is no widespread hypothesis about the independence of given normal motion from coordinate. Download or read book Mathematical Models of Higher Orders written by Vadim A. Krysko and published by Springer. This book was released on 2019-02-11 with total page 470 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book offers a valuable methodological approach to the state-of-the-art of the classical plate/shell mathematical models, exemplifying the vast range of mathematical models of nonlinear dynamics and statics of continuous mechanical structural members. The main objective highlights the need for further study of the classical problem of shell dynamics consisting of mathematical modeling, derivation of nonlinear PDEs, and of finding their solutions based on the development of new and effective numerical techniques. The book is designed for a broad readership of graduate students in mechanical and civil engineering, applied mathematics, and physics, as well as to researchers and professionals interested in a rigorous and comprehensive study of modeling non-linear phenomena governed by PDEs.
