But Mary Jenkins, a mom to five who became pregnant with her first at age fourteen, offers her story as encouragement to the scared and hurting. Her story is inspirational. Though she has found happiness and meaning now, she had to overcome challenges, regrets, and heartbreaks along the way. She offers readers hope by writing words of healing and strength. While having a baby at such a young age was unplanned, the experience became one of Mary's greatest blessings. The relationship she now shares with her daughter Vichica is rich, and Mary appreciates all she learned in assuming such weighty responsibility early on. Mary gives the teen reader hope that life will get better. While a young mom might feel life is over with the birth of her baby, that event can actually be the beginning of their best chapter yet.

  • ISBN :
  • Pages : 130 pages

Download or read book Fourteen and Pregnant written by Raylene Williams and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2020-12-30 with total page 130 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a story about the events that led up to me becoming pregnant at the age of 14. In this book I address numerous subjects about children and how they learn to see the world around them. Touching on topics of early childhood development, attachment styles, parenting roles and responsibilities. Discussing subjects of abuse within the family structure and how it affects those involved. I I continue to talk a bit about what happens when you don't heal from your past and how you as a parent can set your child up for success or failures. Further into the book I write about the lack of sexual education that I received as a child growing up in the 80's and 90's. All my life i have wondered why we don't embrace femininity instead of hiding from it like its a plague. My purpose for writing this book is to help caregivers understand what happens when children grow up in homes without love, guidance and proper sexual education. When children are not properly instructed and left on there own understanding it leaves them in reckless situations that could be life threatening. Regardless of how parents feel, sex will happen. Children need to be educated properly about there growing bodies and not made to think they are wrong about the way they feel. They need someone to explain to them what is going on with there bodies. It can be very scary not understanding the changes that take place from adolescents to teenage years. Sexual education is a big topic that a lot of parents get anxiety over, however it needs to be addressed so it can be done properly. Not talking about sex will not stop your child from experiencing sex. Teach children about there bodies so they can embrace there own growth and development. Without proper education they could end up with a lot more issues than just being 14 and pregnant.

Book Expecting Better

Download or read book Expecting Better written by Emily Oster and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2014-06-24 with total page 385 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Emily Oster is the non-judgmental girlfriend holding our hand and guiding us through pregnancy and motherhood. She has done the work to get us the hard facts in a soft, understandable way.” —Amy Schumer What to Expect When You're Expecting meets Freakonomics: an award-winning economist and author of Cribsheet, The Family Firm, and The Unexpected disproves standard recommendations about pregnancy to empower women while they're expecting. Pregnancy—unquestionably one of the most profound, meaningful experiences of adulthood—can reduce otherwise intelligent women to, well, babies. Pregnant women are told to avoid cold cuts, sushi, alcohol, and coffee without ever being told why these are forbidden. Rules for prenatal testing are similarly unexplained. Moms-to-be desperately want a resource that empowers them to make their own right choices. When award-winning economist Emily Oster was a mom-to-be herself, she evaluated the data behind the accepted rules of pregnancy, and discovered that most are often misguided and some are just flat-out wrong. Debunking myths and explaining everything from the real effects of caffeine to the surprising dangers of gardening, Expecting Better is the book for every pregnant woman who wants to enjoy a healthy and relaxed pregnancy—and the occasional glass of wine.

Book A New Chronology for Old Testament Times

Download or read book A New Chronology for Old Testament Times written by Jan Van Tuyl and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2012 with total page 564 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book brings solutions to a very great list of hitherto unsolved chronological and synchronisation problems. The reason why those solutions could be found lies in the extensive research the author made in old and often rare texts instead of limiting himself to the near exclusive source of the Bible. Ample use has been made of information that is available in works like the Books of Enoch, The Apocrypha, The Legends of the Jews, The Seder Olam, the Book of Jasher and many more, as well as in the texts from known historians like Herodotus and the famous Jewish historian and priest Flavius Josephus Just a few of the many special findings are: - The real reason why Joseph was so popular with the Pharaoh. - Sarah was not Abraham's (half)-sister. - Moses was uncircumcised and even forbade the ritual for 40 years. - Terah was not 70 years old when he begat Abraham. - The exact period of the Judges: when they started and when they ended. - A solution for the verse of the "about 450 years" of Paul's speech. - Why did the Lord God give form and then blew life into Adam? - Eve was not made out of Adam's rib but from another body part - A solution to the "impossible synchronism" of Judah and his sons. - Enoch made not one but 4 trips to Heaven. - The definitive answer: why did King Josiah attack Necho II? - Why did King Ahab not fight at Qarqar? And many more. The book has a unique style. It has nothing of the "study book", difficult to understand texts. The subject is serious, well researched, and treated with respect. But that does not mean that it cannot be presented at a fast moving pace, in easy to read style with here and there even a bit of humour. The purpose of the book is to prove that the promise that the Lord God made to Adam was kept. It held that there would be exactly 5500 years between the arrival of Adam in this world and the arrival of Christ. Every person who was of importance in that timespan has been visited. For every single one there are his years of birth and death or the years of his rule. Every person has a short story about some important part of his life, his actions or the influence he had on the history of the Hebrew people that lived in that period.
