At times, things were simple, others difficult, still other times...deadly. I am not a book writer. I wrote to relieve the stress of the physicality of three wars, and one emotional. I may have spent five years in combat zones but the emotional ride feels like an eternity. Even in its mildest form, things are remembered, as the Veterans Administration likes to put it, at times you don't want them to. Personal relations are hurt but fortunately for me, my family is always there.

Efforts at third-party intervention, mediation and political negotiation across a range of conflict zones from Europe to Sub-Saharan Africa are discussed in full.
