Il volume si presenta suddiviso in varie parti rispettivamente dedicate: all’esame specifico dei nuovi meccanismi istituzionali che governano il complesso fenomeno delle ispezioni e della vigilanza in materia di sicurezza sul lavoro alle linee di sviluppo del nuovo apparato sanzionatorio così come individuato dal d.lgs. n. 81/2008 e successivamente modificato dal d.lgs. 106/2009, con particolare riferimento: al procedimento ispettivo e sanzionatorio, amministrativo e penale, ai limiti di applicabilità dei poteri degli organi di vigilanza (prescrizione, disposizione, diffida), alla lettura dell’apparato punitivo fra contravvenzioni e sanzioni amministrative, alla responsabilità diretta dell’ente, alle condizioni di estinzione agevolata dell’illecito, all’esercizio dei diritti della persona offesa all’analisi dell’apparato sanzionatorio e alla puntuale individuazione di tutte le ipotesi sanzionatorie previste dal nuovo testo unico, anche mediante apposite tabelle che individuano: la fattispecie illecita, la reazione punitiva, le forme di estinzione agevolata dell’illecito Infine viene proposta: la normativa e la prassi amministrativa di principale rilievo, accanto alla modulistica riguardante le fasi principali del procedimento sanzionatorio penale e amministrativo.

Many of the papers draw their inspiration from models of language developed by Michael Halliday and in particular recent theories of variation in relation to texts and genres explored by Halliday and his followers. There is an emphasis on the interdependence and interaction of linguistic choices across sentence boundaries and speaking turns, and also a consistent focus across many papers on the importance of lexicogrammar in the construction of texts. Several papers examine the differences between native-speaker and non-native-speaker choices in speech and writing. Book excerpt: The Protean Virgil argues that when we try to understand how and why different readers have responded differently to the same text over time, we should take into account the physical form in which they read the text as well as the text itself. Using Virgil's poetry as a case study in book history, the volume shows that a succession of material forms - manuscript, printed book, illustrated edition, and computer file - undermines the drive toward textual and interpretive stability. This stability is the traditional goal of classical scholarship, which seeks to recover what Virgil wrote and how he intended it to be understood. The manuscript form served to embed Virgil's poetry into Christian culture, which attempted to anchor the content into a compatible theological truth. Readers of early printed material proceeded differently, breaking Virgil's text into memorable moral and stylistic fragments, and collecting those fragments into commonplace books. Furthermore, early illustrated editions present a progression of re-envisionings in which Virgil's poetry was situated within a succession of receiving cultures. In each case, however, the material form helped to generate a method of reading Virgil which worked with this form but which failed to survive the transition to a new union of the textual and the physical. This form-induced instability reaches its climax with computerization, which allows the reader new power to edit the text and to challenge the traditional association of Virgil's poetry with elite culture.
