Consecutive wins came in 2014 then 2015, during an intense rivalry with his team-mate Nico Rosberg. After Rosberg's retirement, Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel became Hamilton's closest rival in a couple of intense championship battles, during which Lewis twice overturned mid-season point deficits to lift successive titles again in 2017 - 2018.
