Cependant, lors des études de maïeutique, le domaine de la santé bucco-dentaire est très peu abordé. La grossesse est une période de modifications importantes, essentiellement hormonales. L'état bucco-dentaire subit les conséquences de ces modifications notamment au niveau parodontal. La gingivite est la pathologie parodontale la plus fréquente chez la femme enceinte. Elle touche 35 à 100% des femmes enceintes, selon les études. La carie du biberon est un problème de santé publique. Sa prévalence varie selon les pays, de 1% à 32%. Elles touchent les jeunes enfants dès l'éruption des premières dents jusqu'à l'âge de 6 ans. Son étiologie est multifactorielle. Dans ce mémoire nous étudierons essentiellement l'impact de l'allaitement au sein et au biberon sur l'apparition de la carie précoce de la petite enfance. Notre objectif est de proposer une formation délivrée aux sages-femmes durant leur cursus initial pour que les inciter à participer à la prévention en santé bucco-dentaire chez la femme enceinte et le nourrisson. La première partie de ce mémoire sera consacrée à la présentation du métier et des études de maïeutique. Puis dans un second temps, nous étudierons les formations délivrées aux sages-femmes dans le monde. Dans la troisième partie, nous analyserons les connaissances des étudiantes sages-femmes de l'école de Strasbourg. Enfin nous terminerons ce mémoire par une proposition de formation destiné aux sages-femmes.

Book excerpt: L'objectif principal de cette étude est d'évaluer les différences d'enseignement sur le sujet de la santé bucco-dentaire, dans les sites de formations maïeutique français. L'objectif secondaire est de déterminer quelle forme d'enseignement est la plus adaptée, pour permettre aux futurs professionnels une meilleure prise en charge de leurs patientes. Étude observationnelle de type descriptive, transversale et multicentrique, réalisée par questionnaires en ligne, auprès des DFASMa1 et 2 des 35 sites de formation de France, du 22 septembre au 22 décembre 2015. 890 étudiants ont participé à cette étude. Nous avons constaté que 40% des étudiants ne bénéficiaient d'aucune forme d'information pendant leur cursus. Pourtant, il existe une hausse statistiquement significative des connaissances théoriques (p=5,3E-06) et de l'auto-évaluation (p = 0,04) quand l'étudiant a reçu une forme d'enseignement. L'analyse des durées de formation révèle qu'il n'y a pas d'intérêt à avoir plus de 2 heures de formation. En revanche, 2 heures de cours permettent d'augmenter statistiquement significativement les connaissances théoriques et d'auto-évaluation, par rapport à 1 heure de cours ou une absence de cours. De même, les résultats montrent que les notes s'améliorent significativement quand l'information provient d'un chirurgien-dentiste, par rapport à d'autres intervenants. Il n'y a pas de différences significatives entre une information donnée par une sage-femme ou un médecin. Enfin, 92% des étudiants sont demandeurs de cours sur ce thème, quelle que soit la formation reçue. La formation des étudiants sages-femmes sur le sujet de la santé bucco-dentaire n'est pas uniforme en France. Pourtant, une formation initiale en collaboration avec des chirurgiens-dentistes permettrait d'améliorer les connaissances des étudiants et donc, la prise en charge des patientes.

As one of 14 pilots shot down or experience mechanical failure in the ensuing battle, he parachuted into the sea 18 km from land, 100 km southwest of Darwin in the Fogg Bay area. He reached the shore in a dinghy. For the next 15 days he trudged through inhospitable country in a futile attempt to return to Strauss airbase. What should have been a few days walk turned into his worst possible nightmare as he stumbled aimlessly through mosquito and crocodile infested swamps. "It was almost six days I'd been without sleep, apart from a short period of unconsciousness and those few moments before I fell out of that tree," he said. " I became demented by the cavalcade of mosquitoes and hallucinating badly". His experience was only to worsen - he waded halfway across a tidal river to be confronted by a large saltie. Darwin historian John Haslett help Stagg map the original route by retracing his steps, even managing to relocate an American Kittyhawk Stagg found crashed in the middle of nowhere.
