Book Real Methods in Complex and CR Geometry

Download or read book Real Methods in Complex and CR Geometry written by Marco Abate and published by Springer. This book was released on 2004-08-30 with total page 219 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The geometry of real submanifolds in complex manifolds and the analysis of their mappings belong to the most advanced streams of contemporary Mathematics. In this area converge the techniques of various and sophisticated mathematical fields such as P.D.E.s, boundary value problems, induced equations, analytic discs in symplectic spaces, complex dynamics. For the variety of themes and the surprisingly good interplaying of different research tools, these problems attracted the attention of some among the best mathematicians of these latest two decades. They also entered as a refined content of an advanced education. In this sense the five lectures of this volume provide an excellent cultural background while giving very deep insights of current research activity.

Book Analysis and Geometry in Several Complex Variables

Download or read book Analysis and Geometry in Several Complex Variables written by Shiferaw Berhanu and published by American Mathematical Soc.. This book was released on 2017-01-17 with total page 184 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume contains the proceedings of the workshop on Analysis and Geometry in Several Complex Variables, held from January 4–8, 2015, at Texas A&M University at Qatar, Doha, Qatar. This volume covers many topics of current interest in several complex variables, CR geometry, and the related area of overdetermined systems of complex vector fields, as well as emerging trends in these areas. Papers feature original research on diverse topics such as the rigidity of CR mappings, normal forms in CR geometry, the d-bar Neumann operator, asymptotic expansion of the Bergman kernel, and hypoellipticity of complex vector fields. Also included are two survey articles on complex Brunn-Minkowski theory and the regularity of systems of complex vector fields and their associated Laplacians.

Book A Primer of Real Analytic Functions

Download or read book A Primer of Real Analytic Functions written by KRANTZ and published by Birkhäuser. This book was released on 2013-03-09 with total page 190 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The subject of real analytic functions is one of the oldest in mathe matical analysis. Today it is encountered early in ones mathematical training: the first taste usually comes in calculus. While most work ing mathematicians use real analytic functions from time to time in their work, the vast lore of real analytic functions remains obscure and buried in the literature. It is remarkable that the most accessible treatment of Puiseux's theorem is in Lefschetz's quite old Algebraic Geometry, that the clearest discussion of resolution of singularities for real analytic manifolds is in a book review by Michael Atiyah, that there is no comprehensive discussion in print of the embedding prob lem for real analytic manifolds. We have had occasion in our collaborative research to become ac quainted with both the history and the scope of the theory of real analytic functions. It seems both appropriate and timely for us to gather together this information in a single volume. The material presented here is of three kinds. The elementary topics, covered in Chapter 1, are presented in great detail. Even results like a real ana lytic inverse function theorem are difficult to find in the literature, and we take pains here to present such topics carefully. Topics of middling difficulty, such as separate real analyticity, Puiseux series, the FBI transform, and related ideas (Chapters 2-4), are covered thoroughly but rather more briskly.

Book Real Analytic and Algebraic Singularities

Download or read book Real Analytic and Algebraic Singularities written by Toshisumi Fukui and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 1997-12-12 with total page 236 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book contains a collection of papers covering recent progress in a number of areas of singularity theory. Topics include blow analyticity, recent progress in the research on equivalence relations of maps and functions, sufficiency of jets, and the transversality theorem. . Geometric and analytic studies of partial differential equations have been developed independently of one another, but the shock wave solutions appearing in natural phenomena are not well understood. Singularity theory may unify these studies and a survey based on this viewpoint is presented in which a new notion of weak solution is introduced. There are also reports on the recent progress in Zariski's conjecture on multiplicities of hypersurfaces, transcendency of analytic sets and on the topology of weighted homogeneous polynomials. This book will be of particular interest to specialists in singularities, partial differential equations, algebraic geometry and control theory.
