Book excerpt: "Nineteenth-century Latter-day Saints looked forward to apocalyptic events that would unseat corrupt governments across the globe but would particularly decimate the tyrannical government of the United States. Mormons turned to prophecies of divine deliverance by way of plagues, natural disasters, foreign invasions, American Indian raids, slave uprisings, or civil war unleashed on American cities and American people ... Blythe examines apocalypticism across the history of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints particularly as it would take shape in localized and personalized forms in the writings and visions of ordinary Latter-day Saints outside of the Church's leadership"--

Book Antichrist and the End Times

Download or read book Antichrist and the End Times written by Rev. Joseph Iannuzzi and published by . This book was released on with total page 118 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Perhaps no Christian prophecy carries with it the drama and intrigue than that of the coming of the Antichrist, history’s quintessential demonic tyrant. His brief but terrible reign is to come at the climax of a spiritually dark age in man’s history. Indeed, the 20th century alone saw three popes comment on the appearance and rise of the Antichrist—Pius X, Paul VI and John Paul II—fueling speculation that his reign was near. Today, as the world sinks deeper into moral depravity and intellectual confusion, talk of the Antichrist’s rise again fills the air. Christian leaders believe this is because the signs of his coming—heresy, apostasy, and iniquity—have reached unparalleled levels. So is the coming of the Antichrist right around the corner? In this powerful book, Antichrist and the End Times, Fr. Joseph Iannuzzi takes a hard look at this prophecy, its history, and the conditions necessary to bring about its fulfillment, offering readers a unique glimpse at an eschatological mystery rooted in the Book of Revelation. This is a book you won’t be able to put down!

Download or read book Revelation Revolution written by Dennis James Woods and published by Life To Legacy LLC. This book was released on 2020-12-05 with total page 147 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book of Revelation is the most mysterious and controversial book of the Bible. Yet, God intended that Christians be enriched by its enduring message. Even though Revelation has a blessing for those who read it, many believers still avoid this inspired book. Could one reason be they have been taught that most of Revelation does not apply to Christians? In this first volume of The End Time Apologetics Series, the author challenges the pretribulation rapture position and uncovers how many Christians may not be prepared for prophetic events to come. Although many promote pretrib as a fact, in reality it’s a “theory” that gained traction in America in the 19th century. Further popularized after being published in an immensely popular reference bible, pretrib quickly became the preferred rapture position. As we see prophetic fulfillment happening in the Middle East and around the world, the real question is “What happens if the pretrib rapture theory is wrong?” How will Christians respond if the Church is not raptured before prophetic events occur? Will history repeat itself? Will there be a group of modern-day Thessalonians whose faith will be shaken? In this powerful book, discover how facts concerning the Antichrist, Angels, and the Abyss, are a game-changer for the pretribulation rapture position. Learn what effect it would have if the Holy Spirit is not the restrainer of Second Thessalonians. See actual correspondence between the author and two of the most esteemed Dispensational scholars who made some surprising admissions about who’s really restraining the Antichrist. Will end time events actually turn out as portrayed in the Left Behind series? Will Christians be prepared for the perilous times to come? What could trigger the great falling away? Be forewarned, those who have ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to Christians concerning the Antichrist, Angels, and the Abyss.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: FROM A BESTSELLING AUTHOR and recognized scholar. A Catholic perspective on end times prophecies. Includes end time Bible prophecy on the chastisement, three days darkness, the tribulation, the Antichrist, and the second coming of Christ. Ancient and recent prophecies from the Bible, the mystics, and the saints. Unlike countless books today which deal with current world events related to prophecy predicting specific dates for the rapture and the return of Christ, this book sets the background on prophetic messages throughout Church history in a well-balanced, informative manner. An inspiring read! A recent endorsement: "I have to say that of the many books I have read (having multiple degrees in theology -including my Doctorate from Columbia University) your "They Bore the Wounds of Christ: The Mystery of the Sacred Stigmata..." is one of my all time favorites. In fact not only do I continue to refer to it, but there are certain passages that you explain that could only be attributable to infused divine inspiration. Please continue to write ... Peace, Deacon Mike Vicinanza" (April 17, 2016).

Download or read book The Second Coming of Jesus Christ written by David L. Toney and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2015-02-10 with total page 158 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: While the turn of the century has seen a number of secular sources proclaiming the end of the worldsuch as Y2K or the end of the Mayan calendaronly to see these events come and go, there persists yet another source that still accurately foretells the events and phenomena we see play out on the worlds scene. Instead of focusing on fleeting signs and events, the Bible shows us how a growing tide of global conflict, human suffering, and natural disasters points toward a powerful truth: we are living in the end times. In The Second Coming of Jesus Christ: An Analysis of End Time Bible Prophecy, author David L. Toney explores how contemporary events not only parallel but also signify the fulfilment of Bible prophecies throughout both the Old and New Testaments. From the return of the Jews to Israel as foretold in Ezekiel, to the rise of the Antichrist as anticipated in Revelation, discover prophecies and the modern-day events related to the end of the six-thousand-year reign of humanity, the stirrings of World War III, and the appearance of catastrophic natural phenomena. That we are living in the end times is good news for good people and bad news for bad people, and the most important event prophesied to take place in these latter yearsthe second coming of Jesus Christwill soon take place.

Book excerpt: "For Bible Prophecy watchers the book of Revelation is the main Biblical book for gauging the end time." No book in the Bible is more frightening than the Revelation. The entire book is devoted to the end of the world detailing God’s judgments unleashed onto the earth plague by plague. Revelation is the last book of the Bible and is a prophetic book. It forecasts the apocalypse, which means the final destruction of the world with events of catastrophic scale. Part of the Earth’s judgments happen through a world dictator Bible Scholars refer to as the Antichrist. End of the World: The Revelation Prophecy provides an overview of the book of Revelation while also correlating Bible Prophecy to current events to help the reader understand how close we now are to the fulfillment of the Revelation prophecy. Written by author and prophecy expert Erika Grey, Erika focuses on current affairs, the EU and its relation to Bible Prophecy and issues that affect individuals living in these end times.

Book The Prophets and Our Times

Download or read book The Prophets and Our Times written by R. Gerald Culleton and published by CreateSpace. This book was released on 2013-09-08 with total page 252 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Originally written in the early 1940's this book is even more appropriate for those studying prophecy today. Any serious student of Catholic Prophecy should possess several books and this one is near the top of the list. They should also have 'The Apocalypse of Saint John' by E Sylvester Berry and 'The Book of Destiny' by Herman Bernard Kramer. Culleton's other work, 'The Reign of Antichrist' is also very useful in carrying study forward. In the 19th century James Ratton wrote two books, 'Essays on the Apocalypse' and 'The Apocalypse of Saint John'. His works should also be consulted by the serious student of Catholic prophecy. Father Culleton begins with an overview of the prophecies and his prophetic time line. He then proceeds to the prophecies in chronological order with very few comments, which are easily recognizable. Culleton has gathered together a sizable number of prophecies. His conclusions may be out of date, but the prophecies themselves are more important today than they were in the middle of the last century when Culleton compiled them. He discusses the Great Monarch and the Angelic Pastor. He also touches on Antichrist. In fact he subtitles this book 'Signs that Precede the Antichrist'. Culleton reports the following prayer from a priest in Rome in 1936: “O Jesus, Divine Saviour! Be merciful, be merciful to us and to the whole world. Amen. Powerful God! Holy God! Immortal God! Have compassion upon us and upon the whole world. Amen. Eternal Father, show us mercy, in the name of the Precious Blood of Thy Only Son, show us mercy we implore Thee. Amen.” Although he does not mention Sister Faustina one can easily see the tie in with the devotion to the Divine Mercy she was led by Almighty God to promote. Culleton reports a Franciscan Father in Arizona as stating: “"Don Bosco's prophecy 'The Pope will die and live again' refers to the peculiar circumstances surrounding Pius XI and Pius XII: when the former died, 'Fides Intrepida' died, but when Pius Xll, his Secretary of State, was elected, 'Fides Intrepida' lived again." Pius XII according to this would not be the Pastor Angelicus, at least not the one who would rule with the Great Monarch."” With the speculation about Saint Malachy's prophecies of the popes this students of Catholic Prophecy may wish to investigate this and two other prophets, Saint John Capistrano and the Monk of Padua, that Culleton quotes as describing the last Popes in history.
