The authors present a concept of the banking system of the future in the conditions of macro-economic instability, which stimulates financial crisis management of the national economy, and determine the role of banks in aggregation and redistribution of monetary resources in economy in the context of digital transformations. Also, attention is paid to social consequences of digital modernization of the financial system – transformation of human’s social life in the age of innovative banking is shown. Effectiveness of online banking, as a new form of payments that is popular in the digital economy, is analyzed. The authors formulate competencies that employees of banks of the future, which will function in the digital economy, should have and study the perspectives of digitization of the practice of tax administration based on technological processing and analytics of Big Data by the example of experience of modern Russia, as well as related transformation processes in the existing practice of the tax system organization. A concept of organization and management of the national tax system in the conditions of robotization of production and consumption is developed, and the role of blockchain technologies in improvement of the modern Russian tax system is determined. The investment platform for the modern digital economy is offered. As a result, the scientific paradigm of formation of the digital financial system in the conditions of Industry 4.0 is formed.

Foresight in food safety facilitates the proactive identification of drivers and related trends, both within and outside agrifood systems, that have implications for food safety and therefore also for consumer health, the national economy, and international trade. Early identification and evaluation of drivers and trends promote strategic planning and preparedness to take advantage of emerging opportunities and address challenges in food safety. In this publication, the FAO Food Safety Foresight programme provides an overview of the major global drivers and trends by describing their implications for food safety in particular and for agrifood systems by extrapolation. The various drivers and trends reported include climate change, changing consumer behaviour and preferences, new food sources and production systems, technological advances, microbiome, circular economy, food fraud, among others. The intended audience for this publication is broad – from the policymakers, academia, food business operators, private sector, to all of us, the consumers.

At the same time the world faces growing fears about food security as the global population increases, more people eat meat and dairy, and the climate destabilises as a result of forest destruction and fossil fuel use. The Committee, in summary, recommends: stricter advertising limits on junk food marketing; food skills, such as cooking and gardening, should be part of the curriculum in all schools; new national planning policy guidance for Local Authorities should ensure communities have access to healthy food and land to grow their own produce; Government Buying Standards for food must be improved on meat and dairy and extended to cover hospitals, prisons and schools; the Office of Fair Trading's remit should be amended so supermarkets are not blocked from cooperating on sustainability initiatives; and the scope for simple and consistent labelling on the sustainability of food products should be examined. The report warns that there is no overarching food strategy in place. Defra's 'Green Food Project' due in June examines only part of the food system and the focus on 'sustainable intensification' risks ignoring wider social and health implications. The UK does not currently have the basic science base to deliver more sustainable food and relying on markets to identify and to direct where the research is needed is likely to fail.
