Book Multipliers

Download or read book Multipliers written by Liz Wiseman and published by Harper Collins. This book was released on 2010-06-15 with total page 358 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Are you a genius or a genius maker? We've all had experience with two dramatically different types of leaders. The first type drain intelligence, energy, and capability from the ones around them and always need to be the smartest ones in the room. These are the idea killers, the energy sappers, the diminishers of talent and commitment. On the other side of the spectrum are leaders who use their intelligence to amplify the smarts and capabilities of the people around them. When these leaders walk into a room, lightbulbs go off over people's heads, ideas flow, and problems get solved. These are the leaders who inspire employees to stretch themselves to deliver results that surpass expectations. These are the Multipliers. And the world needs more of them, especially now, when leaders are expected to do more with less. In this engaging and highly practical book, leadership expert Liz Wiseman and management consultant Greg McKeown explore these two leadership styles, persuasively showing how Multipliers can have a resoundingly positive and profitable effect on organizations—getting more done with fewer resources, developing and attracting talent, and cultivating new ideas and energy to drive organizational change and innovation. In analyzing data from more than 150 leaders, Wiseman and McKeown have identified five disciplines that distinguish Multipliers from Diminishers. These five disciplines are not based on innate talent; indeed, they are skills and practices that everyone can learn to use—even lifelong and recalcitrant Diminishers. Lively, real-world case studies and practical tips and techniques bring to life each of these principles, showing you how to become a Multiplier too, whether you are a new or an experienced manager. Just imagine what you could accomplish if you could harness all the energy and intelligence around you. Multipliers will show you how.

Book excerpt: "In a security environment characterized by regional conflicts, complex political situations, and accompanying constraints, the need for accurate intelligence analysis has never been greater. Though the primary function of intelligence is to understand adversaries, the Air Force intelligence career field has not developed its own cadre of regional and country-specific experts. With this in mind, this thesis addresses the question: "Is Air Force intelligence properly organized and trained to provide regional expertise to theater air component commanders?""--Abstract.

Book The Potential Impact of Dedicated Intelligence Internet Sites on the Role of US Army Counterintelligence as a Force Multiplier

Download or read book The Potential Impact of Dedicated Intelligence Internet Sites on the Role of US Army Counterintelligence as a Force Multiplier written by and published by . This book was released on 1996 with total page 6 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This paper proposes creating dedicated intelligence Internet web sites for Army strategic and tactical CI units. These sites will be accessible from anywhere in the world by Army intelligence personnel through designated Army core groups. The intent of this system is to (1) create a common user data base for tactical and strategic CI Army elements, (2) assist in the cross-training of tactical and strategic assets within the Army, and (3) maximize resource capability to fulfill their force protection role. Within the next two years, other military departments will develop their intelligence networks and common data bases, which will be followed by national level intelligence agencies. The ultimate goal is to develop a data base, which will provide National Military Strategy (NMS) and National Security Strategy (NSS) leaders an evaluated product derived from information provided by the entire U.S. intelligence community. Such a system does not currently exist. Also suggested are several ways this kind of system could facilitate the training and mentoring of CI personnel stationed worldwide. Within the context of this paper, counterintelligence (CI) is defined as identifying, exploiting, and neutralizing a foreign intelligence service threat against Department of the Army personnel, equipment, facilities, and installations. Protection of these elements become a force multiplier for the warfighter. Today this role includes preventing technology transfer, which becomes a major force protection measure.

Book Contemporary Military Theory

Download or read book Contemporary Military Theory written by Jan Angstrom and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2014-07-17 with total page 215 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book aims to provide the reader with a state-of-the-art introduction to classic and modern military theory. The text accounts for the most important theories within the field by developing and analyzing these theories, as well as problematizing both their normative and explanatory aims. While focusing on military theory, the book does not only reflect a single way of relating to knowledge of war and warfare, but furthers learning by introducing contrasting perspectives as well as constantly criticizing the theories. There is a clear need for an introductory text for the entire field of military theory that focuses whole-heartedly on the theories – not on their context or how they are expressed in practice during war. This book covers such questions as how we should understand the changing character of war, the utility of force and how the pursuit of political ends is achieved through military means. It draws upon and illustrates military thought through a wide-ranging number of examples from the Napoleonic Wars to the current war in Afghanistan. This book will be of great interest for students of military theory, strategic studies, security studies and defence studies.

Book excerpt: This new Handbook provides a comprehensive, state-of-the-art overview of current knowledge and debates on terrorism and counterterrorism, as well as providing a benchmark for future research. The attacks of 9/11 and the ‘global war on terror’ and its various legacies have dominated international politics in the opening decades of the 21st century. Book Cia Tiger Shadow Assassination Association

Download or read book Cia Tiger Shadow Assassination Association written by Gary Lee Puckett and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2018-06-09 with total page 206 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The atomic armament convention prohibits the obligation to maintain a militia larger than provisions stated in guidelines imposed by the United Nations. Legal restrictions pertaining to atomic armament applied to the regions providing materials to construct atomic warheads should expose all parties involved. All of these factors demonstrate a willingness to cooperate in efforts to address world peace and is an obligation of all members of the United Nations. The International Court of Justice provides guidelines that establish a general outline that allow for the success of these policies. All nations found in violations of agreements established by the United Nations according to guidelines outlined by provisions of the International Court of Justice are subject to capital punishment. The Truman Administration provided agreements to all parties of the United Nations they could agree upon and their efforts provided assistance to areas of the United Nations existing near the borders of their enemies. The agreements provided assistance in the form of ballistic infrastructures designed for affirmative action in the event these policies violate civil rights. The agreement accepted by members of the United Nations passed into effect in 1938 and restricted the use and development of atomic materials. It was a treaty against atomic armament that is still in effect that restricts the possession and transfer of atomic weapons and explosive devices between regions that conducted trade with Germany and Italy. When Congress approved the Secret Service intervention assistance, the development of proliferation materials and the restrictions he provided led to successful disarmament policies imposed against other than allied areas. Even though Josef Stalin cooperated by giving information about illegal armament to a congressional committee pertaining to a possible wide scale attack on the United States, his interrogation ended and he died in a twenty-one gun firing squad at the Czechoslovak International Hostage and Terrorist Detention and Interrogation Training Facility.
