Rather, he appears to have functioned as a model for these figures, who were informed by their perceptions of Galton's ulterior purposes in constructing eugenics as he did. Any of various features in the 45-year-long course of that development could have encouraged these particular legatees to appreciate both Galton and his product as surreptitious stanchers of democracy.

During the 1916 Rising he commanded the Fingal Battalion of the Volunteers, who were tasked with destroying the communications network of the British establishment north of Dublin city. This culminated in the Battle of Ashbourne, where the tactics used were a precursor of the guerrilla warfare techniques that were to be so effective in the War of Independence. Ashe was sentenced to death alongside Éamon de Valera, but their sentences were commuted to life imprisonment. He led a hunger strike in Lewes Prison in May 1917 and was released under a general amnesty in June. Ashe was re-arrested in August for a speech he made in Co. Longford. He was imprisoned in Mountjoy, where he went on hunger strike in September for prisoner-of-war status. He died on 25 September, having been force-fed by the prison authorities. Michael Collins delivered the oration at his funeral and the circumstances of his death and funeral became one of the key factors in tipping public opinion towards supporting the cause of the 1916 rebels.

They all applied and were accepted to the Harvard M B A program. They were assigned by Harvard to share the same room and in time became closer than brothers. Because each was interested in different charities they developed a plan that would provide each charity with millions of dollars, but would never identify them as the benefactors. The action they took to collect the funds was highly unusual but since it was for a good cause, they concluded that it was justified. Though the book is a fiction there are many similarities to real and actual events. If for any reason someone is offended by the books contents the author truly apologizes. One last thought as we go through life and review the worlds history, world leaders and nations committed similar acts as the Harvard Three, and always as far as they were concerned it was for a good cause.
