Book Indelible Footprints

Download or read book Indelible Footprints written by Kay Nelson and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2022-05-03 with total page 338 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Page | 2 I have been the recipient of a treasure chest of family heirlooms. There are old pictures, poems, genealogies, and stories. Because past generations were so faithful to preserve their family history, I felt compelled to preserve their “footprints.” My favorite heirloom is a metal crest that dates back to the 1200s. The stamp reveals a bird with writing in the Welsh language which, when translated, reads, “Faith in God makes all things right.” I have several unique things that the book contains, such as a contract with the Indians for land and a Civil War diary written by my great-grandfather. There are newspapers dated March of 1863 offering a bounty of $20,000 for the head of Lincoln. Poems were written by my grandmother depicting the emotional trauma she went through during World War II that came from my treasure chest. The stories of my uncles who were in that war one in the South Pacific and the other in Germany. There are stories of the French Huguenots, pioneers, Pilgrims, and Scotch Reformers that were imprisoned for their faith as well as stories of the devastation of the bubonic plague, both in England and in Germany. It also includes a piolet that transported the Apollo 13 astronauts. My linage contains, missionaries, preachers, and a preacher’s wife. Because former generations were faithful to preserve their history, I felt compelled to include their stories in the book, making their footprints indelible.

Book excerpt: Her life was coming together just as she had planned. She worked hard, secured her dream job back in her hometown, found the love of her life, and even had their first child just as she had envisioned. Everything was right on track according to her master life plan. The next steps to completing their family seemed like a walk in the park considering how easy it was to conceive the first time. But then suddenly life took a very sudden turn. The next several years brought with them loss, devastation, and an emotional roller coaster that even this control freak didn't see coming. Where her strong faith had previously seen her through difficult times, events from her past were quickly resurfacing and forcing her to confront falsely held beliefs that threatened to destroy the little faith she had remaining. In her book footprints, Angie Coyne shares her story to bring hope and encouragement to those who struggle with infertility. Her real-life memoir of love, loss, understanding, and healing brings insight to an otherwise desolate journey as she shares moments of clarity and grace through the footprints of those along her path. In the heart of any struggle, gaining perspective into the "why" behind the journey is difficult to understand until you are able to take a step back and see things through a different lens. Hindsight brings clarity and reveals that sometimes the heartache is entirely God's plan--to grow closer to Him so you can turn around and help the next one in line once your family is complete. It's often easy to overlook the footprints of those He places beside you in your desperate quest for those that are still missing.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Uncertain Footprint is not a religious novel, in spite of using ecclesiastic elements, a monastery, some monks, a chapel, but is a deeply human novel since men and women are its protagonists acting according to their natural passions and virtues. Making a vivid analysis of the personages, the author debates the subject of the celibacy of the clergy with a very sincere objectivity. It contains a surprising action because of its veracity and psychological truculence, both moral and emotional. The subject is debated with the nudity of the fight at the bottom of each conscience, with truly human elements as it corresponds to the gender of the novel, without any concessions to the scruples, to the hypocrisy, and with the full visceral implication of the case. ItaEUR(tm)s a naked appearance in the surface of the recondite magma of emotional, pathologic problems, of ascetic achievements, of elementary frustrations, of forced happiness, and of not confessed desertion, or of confessed desertion of those who walk following an uncertain footprint and leaving it behind themaEUR"let alone nowadays under the signs of the time. At the bottom of it palpitates the anxiety for new ways, the thirst for the truth instead of the sophisticated law, the respect for the natural law above the inhuman habit. Everything happens within the calm climate of the American coenobium and in the feminine and exiting softness of the tropics. Yet the final valuing of the woman being present in the background, that leads to the prestige of her dimensions of spirit and of flesh, so despised so far, while the loss of them causes frustration in the integral man. With the end hanging upon the hollow, hanging on the air, under the painful doubt whether the correct step is followed, the one that the saints follow, with the mind always open to the GodaEUR(tm)s research, to the manaEUR(tm)s research, to the truth research.

Book The Monastic Footprint in Post Reformation Movements

Download or read book The Monastic Footprint in Post Reformation Movements written by Kenneth C. Carveley and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2022-04-19 with total page 274 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book examines the influence of the monastic tradition beyond the Reformation. Where the built monastic environment had been dissolved, desire for the spiritual benefits of monastic living still echoed within theological and spiritual writing of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries as a virtual exegetical template. The volume considers how the writings of monastic authors were appropriated in post-Reformation movements by those seeking a more fervent spiritual life, and how the concept of an internal cloister of monastic/ascetic spirituality influenced several Anglican writers during the Restoration. There is a careful examination of the monastic influence upon the Wesleys and the foundation and rise of Methodism. Drawing on a range of primary sources, the book will be of particular interest to scholars of monastic and Methodist history, and to those engaged in researching ecclesiology and in ecumenical dialogues.
