Book Footprints to the Other Side of Anger

Download or read book Footprints to the Other Side of Anger written by Rita Ann Granrath Corrado and published by Createspace Independent Pub. This book was released on 2012-08-01 with total page 112 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book was written in memory of my brother Robert August Granrath. He passed away suddenly on July12.2009, while vacationing in Scotland. He is very sadly missed by all.The purpose of this book is to help people handle their anger in a healthy way and learn how to forgive. I refer to twelve step programs and to books written by other authors. Dr. Fred Luskin the author of Forgive For Love spent his life being a forgiveness teacher. There are different steps he uses to help people forgive. Mother Teresa's quote is used. She tells single mother's to pray and forgive. The book The Heart Of The Soul by Gary Zukav and Linda Francis talks about the core cause of anger is a feeling of lack of self worth. Because we feel worthless we are terrified by life. If we learn to work through our anger we become the person we want to be. We begin to see how our anger can make a better person out of us if we handle it correctly. We must not expect to recover over night. It takes time and we all have emotional slips during recovery. My book mentions Michele Crawford who is a registered clinical counselor and Canadian certified counselor says there is healthy anger and unhealthy anger. If it is healthy it moves ahead to a solution to the problem. If it is unhealthy it festers, stews and holds grudges blames the other person and finds fault. It usually results in an eruption like a volcano, a tantrum or a rage. Unhealthy anger she says is like drinking poison hoping it will kill the enemy. The book talks about when we feel anger we should take some quiet time first before we deal with it. We really hurt ourselves physically and emotionally by not handling our emotion of anger properly. Instead of hurting ourselves by keeping company with emotional instability, resentment, and bitterness, why don't we start being good to ourselves by making friends with some new behaviors. Quietness will help cure our emotional instability. Serenity will cushion the blow when upsetting things happen outside of ourselves. This is only the beginning of the journey to the other side of anger. We will begin to see how our anger if treated properly can make us into the person we want to be.

Book The Other Side of Anger

Download or read book The Other Side of Anger written by Jr. Jack Perry and published by Aquazebra. This book was released on 2014-08-15 with total page 186 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: No man or woman should ever live in fear of another human being; nobody has the right to convince you that you are less than what your heart, spirit and inner voice has programmed you to be in this universe. Everyone who reads this book will walk away different, for the better. Jack Perry, Jr., a former police officer, military pilot and business leader, has written in his own words and personal style a hard-hitting book about his last conversations with his father, before his father passed away. These are impactful conversations every son or daughter should have with a parent at some point, before it's too late. Jack's father was an angry man, and his anger impacted many lives. In the final days of his father's life, Jack decided to visit him, and ask the hard-hitting, impactful questions about his father's verbal abuse, domestic violence, alcohol abuse, leadership style, and his own childhood. That was the last time he saw his father alive. Jack shares his very personal life lessons, and how he recognizes the same behaviors permeating society today...the hidden facade so many people live, out of fear, societal pressure and anger. He writes about what he has learned from his own mistakes, views and paradigms about life, love, people, violence, death, humanity and service to others. The book addresses anger and fear in the lives of everyone living today. Anger and fear infects CEOs, business leaders, employees, children, parents, and our political leaders. Impactful, insightful solutions and tools are the wisdoms that Jack shares in his book-the defining moments and the people who had impact in his life for positive change. "Enjoy my book with an open mind." Jack Perry, Jr.

Watching the water has helped him calm down before, but this time his grief for his mom is too much. It unlocks a magic he didn’t know he possessed, and he passes into a world on the other side of the water. This world is under attack by a slithering serpentine race known as the Gyrazú that can track people through the rivers and travel through them too quickly to avoid. Zeke narrowly avoids capture thanks to Naya, Thain, and Callie—members of the Menewa who can teach him how to use his newfound ability to heal with magic and bring him closer to the truth about his parents’ secret ties to this world. As the friends race both the Gyrazú and hidden traitors to stop a cataclysmic attack, Zeke must navigate both his grief and his magic or else risk drowning in both.

Book So Much to Be Angry About Appalachian Movement Press and Radical DIY Publishing 1969 1979

Download or read book So Much to Be Angry About Appalachian Movement Press and Radical DIY Publishing 1969 1979 written by Shaun Slifer and published by West Virginia University Press. This book was released on 2021-03 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A richly produced, craft- and activist-centered celebration of radical DIY publishing, for readers of Appalachian Reckoning. In a remarkable act of recovery, So Much to Be Angry About conjures an influential but largely obscured strand in the nation's radical tradition--the "movement" printing presses and publishers of the late 1960s and 1970s, and specifically Appalachian Movement Press in Huntington, West Virginia, the only movement press in Appalachia. More than a history, this craft- and activist-centered book positions the frontline politics of the Appalachian Left within larger movements in the 1970s. As Appalachian Movement Press founder Tom Woodruff wrote: "Appalachians weren't sitting in the back row during this struggle, they were driving the bus." Emerging from the Students for a Democratic Society chapter at Marshall University, and working closely with organizer and poet Don West, Appalachian Movement Press made available an eclectic range of printed material, from books and pamphlets to children's literature and calendars. Many of its publications promoted the Appalachian identity movement and "internal colony" theory, both of which were cornerstones of the nascent discipline of Appalachian studies. One of its many influential publications was MAW, the first feminist magazine written by and for Appalachian women. So Much to Be Angry About combines complete reproductions of five of Appalachian Movement Press's most engaging publications, an essay by Shaun Slifer about his detective work resurrecting the press's history, and a contextual introduction to New Left movement publishing by Josh MacPhee. Amply illustrated in a richly produced package, the volume pays homage to the graphic sensibility of the region's 1970s social movements, while also celebrating the current renaissance of Appalachia's DIY culture--in many respects a legacy, Slifer suggests, of the movement publishing documented in his book.

Book Act Based Conceptions of Propositional Content

Download or read book Act Based Conceptions of Propositional Content written by Friederike Moltmann and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2017-07-03 with total page 409 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The notion of a propositional content plays a central role in contemporary philosophy of language. Propositional content makes up both the meaning of sentences and the content of propositional attitudes such as belief. One particular view about propositional content has been dominant in analytic philosophy, namely the Fregean conception of propositions as abstract mind-independent objects that come with truth conditions. But propositions in this sense raise a range of issues, which have become a center of debate in current philosophy of language. In particular, how should propositions as abstract objects be understood and how can they represent things and be true or false? A number of philosophers in contemporary analytic philosophy as well as in early analytic philosophy and phenomenology have approached the notion of a propositional content in a different way, not by starting out with an abstract truth berarer, but by focusing on cognitive acts of agents, such as acts of judging. It is in terms of such acts that the notion of a propositional content, on their view, should be understood. The act-based perspective historically goes back to the work of Central European philosophers, in particular that of Husserl, Twardowski, Meinong, and Reinach. However, their work has been unduly neglected and is in fact largely inaccessible to contemporary analytic philosophers. The volume presents a central selection of work of these philosophers that bear on an act-based conception of philosophical content, some of which in new translations (one paper by Reinach), some of which published in English for the very first time (two papers by Twardowski). In addition, the volume presents new work by leading contemporary philosophers of language pursuing or discussing an act-based conception of propositional content. Moreover, the book contains a crosslinguistic study of nominalizations for actions and products, a distinction that plays a central role in the philosophy of language of Twardowski.
