Book FM Transmission and Reception

Download or read book FM Transmission and Reception written by Rider Uslan and published by . This book was released on 2017-01-02 with total page 432 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Frequency Modulation (FM) is important in today's radio world. If you repair radios or just have an interest in learning more about FM, this book is just what you need. It covers the basic principles underlying the operation of f-m transmitters and receivers, embracing information on both direct and indirect f-m (p-m). To ensure you are provided with complete information, this book covers both transmitting and receiving antennas, the various types of receivers, and their functioning and servicing. Presented in two parts, this book first discusses transmission of the f-m signal then its reception. Part I covers basic theory of f.m. and p.m., the propagation of f-m signals, the basic characteristics of f-m transmitters and an analysis of f-m transmitters that were available as of the late 1940's. Part I closes with a discussion of the latest (as of the late 1940's) in transmitting antennas. Part II deals with f-m receiving antennas and the f-m receiver, which takes into account every individual stage relative to f.m. and compares them to a-m sets. In the late 1940's, four different types of f-m detectors were in use: the limiter-discriminator type, the ratio detector, the oscillator detector (locked-in oscillator), and the FreModyne detector, all four of which are discussed in detail. The last two chapters are devoted to the alignment and the servicing of receivers. There is an appendix that provides some data on the use of vectors and other pertinent information of value. Mathematics are kept to the necessary minimum, and many illustrations are available to provide a clearer picture of the whole topic. In addition and for those who may be interested, chapter 10 covers F.M. in television receivers because the sound transmitters in TVs of those days were very similar to those used in regular f-m broadcasting. There are two appendices that provide additional information about vectors, powers of ten, single-tube F-M converter, ground wave signal range, and more. A detailed references list of books and articles is also included in the event you wish to conduct further research on f-m transmission and reception.

Book Distortion of Fm Signals in Transmission Or Reception

Download or read book Distortion of Fm Signals in Transmission Or Reception written by C. P. WALSH and published by . This book was released on 1961 with total page 1 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The requirements for distortionless transmission of FM signals by planar antennas are deduced. The pattern of illumination must by symmetrical in amplitude and conjugate in phase about some point, called the antenna center. The distribution of the illumination pattern may vary in any manner with frequency, provided that at each frequency the symmetry requirements are met. The phase of the illumination at the antenna center is constrained to be either constant or, AT MOST, LINEAR WITH FREQUENCY. The majority of physical antennas possess the required properties by virtue of their geometrical symmetry. (Author).

Book Wireless Power Transmission for Sustainable Electronics

Download or read book Wireless Power Transmission for Sustainable Electronics written by Nuno Borges Carvalho and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2020-02-19 with total page 432 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Provides a collection of works produced by COST Action IC1301 with the goal of achieving significant advances in the field of wireless power transmission This book constitutes together information from COST Action IC1301, a group of academic and industry experts seeking to align research efforts in the field of wireless power transmission (WPT). It begins with a discussion of backscatter as a solution for Internet of Things (IoT) devices and goes on to describe ambient backscattering sensors that use FM broadcasting for low cost and low power wireless applications. The book also explores localization of passive RFID tags and augmented tags using nonlinearities of RFID chips. It concludes with a review of methods of electromagnetic characterization of textile materials for the development of wearable antennas. Wireless Power Transmission for Sustainable Electronics: COST WiPE - IC1301 covers textile-supported wireless energy transfer, and reviews methods for the electromagnetic characterization of textile materials for the development of wearable antennas. It also looks at: backscatter RFID sensor systems for remote health monitoring; simultaneous localization (of robots and objects) and mapping (SLAM); autonomous system of wireless power distribution for static and moving nodes of wireless sensor networks; and more. Presents techniques for smart beam-forming for "on demand" wireless power transmission (WPT) Discusses RF and microwave energy harvesting for space applications Describes miniaturized RFID transponders for object identification and sensing Wireless Power Transmission for Sustainable Electronics: COST WiPE - IC1301 is an excellent book for both graduate students and industry engineers involved in wireless communications and power transfer, and sustainable materials for those fields.

Book Digital Audio Broadcasting

Download or read book Digital Audio Broadcasting written by Wolfgang Hoeg and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2004-01-09 with total page 362 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Now the standardisation work of DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting)system is finished many broadcast organisations, network providersand receiver manufacturers in European countries and outside ofEurope (for example Canada and the Far East) will be installing DABbroadcast services as pilot projects or public services. Inaddition some value added services (data and video services) areunder development or have already started as pilot projects. The new digital broadcast system DAB distinguishes itself fromexisting conventional broadcast systems, and the various newinternational standards and related documents (from ITU-R, ISO/IEC,ETSI, EBU, EUREKA147, and others) are not readily available and aredifficult to read for users. Therefore it is essential that a wellstructured technical handbook should be available. The Second Edition of Digital Audio Broadcasting has beenfully updated with new sections and chapters added to reflect allthe latest developments and advances. Digital Audio Broadcasting: Provides a fully updated comprehensive overview of DAB Covers international standards, applications and othertechnical issues Combines the expertise of leading researchers in the field ofDAB Now covers such new areas as: IP-Tunneling via DAB; ElectronicProgramme Guide for DAB; and Metadata A comprehensive overview of DAB specifically written forplanning and system engineers, developers for professional anddomestic equipment manufacturers, service providers, as well aspostgraduate students and lecturers in communicationstechnology.
