Book Fluorine 19 Nuclear Magnetic Resonance

Download or read book Fluorine 19 Nuclear Magnetic Resonance written by Harold G. Lee and published by . This book was released on 1973 with total page 35 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A detailed investigation of the reaction of a series of pyridines with titanium tetrafluoride has been carried out with high-resolution fluorine-19 nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Instead of the formation of only simple diadducts a mixture of products is found in the solvent acetonitrile. The main species are TiF4 - 2D, TiF3 - 3D(+) and TiF5 - D( - ). An extensive series of TiF5 - d( - ) complex ions is studied by (19)F nmr. Linear correlations of the chemical shifts of the fluorines in TiF4 - 2D and TiF5 - D( - ) complexes are found with the pKa values of the substituted pyridines. Some complexes of TiF4 with bidentate ligands are reported as well as some products with sulfur containing ligands. Fluorine-19 nmr data are also given for some GeF4 - 2D adducts where D represents some substituted pyridine 1-oxides. Geometrical isomers were found with GeF4 - 2D compounds and both first and second order nmr spectra were measured. (Modified author abstract).

Book Guide to Fluorine NMR for Organic Chemists

Download or read book Guide to Fluorine NMR for Organic Chemists written by W. R. Dolbier and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2009-05-20 with total page 272 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: AN UNPARALLELED ONE-STOP GUIDE TO FLUORINE NMR Guide to Fluorine NMR for Organic Chemists provides a unique single source on both fluorine NMR and the impact of fluorine substituents on proton and carbon NMR spectra. Helping working chemists overcome the challenges associated with the synthetic methodologies of fluorinated compounds, this guide enables the effective use of these increasingly popular spectroscopic techniques to accurately characterize compounds that contain fluorine. Following a thorough introduction of fluorinated compounds, chapters in the text cover: An overview of fluorine NMR The single fluorine substituent The CF2 group The trifluoromethyl group More heavily fluorinated compounds Compounds and substituents with fluorine directly bound to heteroatoms With unparalleled depth and completeness, the coverage ranges from those compounds containing only a few fluorinated substituents, typically employed in pharmaceutical and agricultural applications, to more heavily fluorinated compounds. Featuring NMR data for more than 1,000 specific compunds and including more than 100 exemplary spectra, Guide to Fluorine NMR for Organic Chemists gives the working chemist and advanced student an essential tool for understanding cutting-edge NMR techniques and interpreting the resulting spectroscopic data.

Book Fluorine Magnetic Resonance Imaging

Download or read book Fluorine Magnetic Resonance Imaging written by Ulrich Flogel and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2016-10-26 with total page 462 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Over the past decade, fluorine (19F) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has garnered significant scientific interest in the biomedical research community owing to the unique properties of fluorinated materials and the 19F nucleus. Fluorine has an intrinsically sensitive nucleus for MRI. There is negligible endogenous 19F in the body and thus there is no background signal. Fluorine-containing compounds are ideal tracer labels for a wide variety of MRI applications. Moreover, the chemical shift and nuclear relaxation rate can be made responsive to physiology via creative molecular design. This book is an interdisciplinary compendium that details cutting-edge science and medical research in the emerging field of 19F MRI. Edited by Ulrich Flögel and Eric Ahrens, two prominent MRI researchers, this book will appeal to investigators involved in MRI, biomedicine, immunology, pharmacology, probe chemistry, and imaging physics.
