Book Internal Fluid Dynamics and Frequency Characteristics of Feedback free Fluidic Oscillators

Download or read book Internal Fluid Dynamics and Frequency Characteristics of Feedback free Fluidic Oscillators written by Mehmet N. Tomac and published by . This book was released on 2013 with total page 289 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Abstract: In this work, the internal fluid dynamics and frequency characteristics of feedback-free fluidic oscillators are investigated experimentally and numerically. The internal flow field of various scale oscillators was extracted using a refractive index-matched Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) technique with the help of a PIV phase averaging method and a new sensor setup for simultaneous frequency measurements in refractive index matching fluid. Three different operating regimes (low flow rate, transition and high flow rate regions) and the fluid dynamics of the oscillating behavior in these regimes are revealed with PIV measurements. Flow topologies extracted with PIV measurements differ in these three flow regimes and were found to exhibit various flow features. Frequency measurements were conducted with the use of various experimental techniques including a method that allows non-intrusive measurement. The frequency characteristics were varied depending on properties such as the working fluid, scale and cavity geometry of the fluidic oscillator. Non-dimensional parameters were defined by taking the effects of these variables into account to allow effective comparison of fluidic oscillator designs. Furthermore, 33 modified designs were also tested to provide support for future fluidic oscillator modifications.

Book Computation of Unsteady Internal Flows

Download or read book Computation of Unsteady Internal Flows written by Paul G. Tucker and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 360 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Computation of Unsteady Internal Flows provides an in-depth understanding of unsteady flow modeling and algorithms. This understanding enables suitable algorithms and approaches for particular fields of application to be selected. In addition, the understanding of the behavior of algorithms gained allows practitioners to use them more safely in existing codes, enabling meaningful results to be produced more economically. Features of Computation of Unsteady Internal Flows: Specialized unsteady flow modeling algorithms, their traits, and practical tips relating to their use are presented. Case studies considering complex, practically significant problems are given. Source code and set-up files are included. Intended to be of a tutorial nature, these enable the reader to reproduce and extend case studies and to further explore algorithm performances. Mathematical derivations are used in a fashion that illuminates understanding of the physical implications of different numerical schemes. Physically intuitive mathematical concepts are used. New material on adaptive time stepping is included. £/LIST£ Audience: Researchers in both the academic and industrial areas who wish to gain in-depth knowledge of unsteady flow modeling will find Computation of Unsteady Internal Flows invaluable. It can also be used as a text in courses centered on computational fluid dynamics.

Book Introduction to Fluid Mechanics

Download or read book Introduction to Fluid Mechanics written by Robert W. Fox and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2008 with total page 752 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One of the bestselling books in the field, Introduction to Fluid Mechanics continues to provide readers with a balanced and comprehensive approach to mastering critical concepts. The new seventh edition once again incorporates a proven problem-solving methodology that will help them develop an orderly plan to finding the right solution. It starts with basic equations, then clearly states assumptions, and finally, relates results to expected physical behavior. Many of the steps involved in analysis are simplified by using Excel.

Book Internal Flow

Download or read book Internal Flow written by E. M. Greitzer and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2007-02-26 with total page 739 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book describes the analysis and behaviour of internal flows encountered in propulsion systems, fluid machinery (compressors, turbines and pumps) and ducts (diffusers, nozzles and combustion chambers). The focus is on phenomena that are important in setting the performance of a broad range of fluid devices. The authors show that even for complex processes one can learn a great deal about the behaviour of such devices from a clear understanding and rigorous use of basic principles. Throughout the book they illustrate theoretical principles by reference to technological applications. The strong emphasis on fundamentals, however, means that the ideas presented can be applied beyond internal flow to other types of fluid motion. The book equips students and practising engineers with a range of new analytical tools. These tools offer enhanced interpretation and application of both experimental measurements and the computational procedures that characterize modern fluids engineering.

Book All Fluid flow regimes Simulation Model for Internal Flows

Download or read book All Fluid flow regimes Simulation Model for Internal Flows written by John P. Abraham and published by Nova Novinka. This book was released on 2011 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A multi-regime fluid flow model for internal flows has been applied to several pipe and duct problems. The investigated flow regimes and inter-regime transformations include fully laminar and fully turbulent, laminarisation, and turbulentisation. The model auto-selects both the flow regimes and the inter-regime transformations. This book studies both steady and unsteady flows, as well as flows in pipes and ducts of both axially unchanging cross section and axially enlarging cross section.
